The map gives an idea, what could happen in Rio, but not the real numbers.
In So Paulo, the map gives 532 robberies for the last 120 days, when the real figure for April only is 26.778 (Folha de S. Paulo today). Murders went down to 348 for the same period.

Your best bet might be to find 1 or two girls early on, wife them for the trip and let them spoil you sexually and show you around. Or make nice with some cool mongers and ask to tag along. A couple of ex 65 girls that are now at Cancun advised me that this termas is reopening June 16 and they will likely migrate there.
Can anyone confirm? Never been, was it any good before it closed?
I plan to check it out in late June and provide a report.

I did not session with a girl there, so I don't know what the rooms were like. Also don't recall how the locker room was. I just remember the boite being really tiny. Smallest termas I ever went to! But I'm glad I went though since it was the first termas to ever open its doors in Rio. I wanted my brush with history. I'll be interested to hear if it will be opening back up again since if it does, I think I will want to pay another visit. Especially with 65 and L'uomo having closed.

It's been common knowledge for decades that Rio is a dangerous city, and I doubt that changes soon.
That said, use common sense and you'll likely be fine. 17-18 trips for me and never had a problem.

I lived in the Northeast for a couple years, travel to Brazil a couple times a year, and have never had an issue. Keep your wits about you and be smart. Try not to stand out, leave your shiny stuff at home. Have fun. It is an amazing place.
So, I'm curious, with the various exposures of different folks here on the board, who can get the best bang for their buck? Here are the rules:
- You have an apartment, shared with another monger.
- You have to P4P at least 3 times per day (or a deal where you're paying one girl for multiple days is fine).
- You have to eat out at least once per day.
- You have to partake at least one termas per day (for 7 of the days).
- You must account for at least 3 cultural type activities (non-mongering).
Please list places you would patronize and price. List your total at the bottom! Fun way of seeing who has the best plans for a mongering trip! Winner gets bragging rights!
I last visited Rio probably 12 years ago, and it was memorable. Posted trip report (s), but probably under a different user name. I had to re-register. Much of it is forgotten. But I'll never forget L'oumo. Wow!
Anyway, I'll be heading that way again in July and I'd like to hit the ground running. Being older, time is very valuable to me. I'm not the sex machine that I once was (yeah, right!) but I still appreciate a fine woman occasionally. Rio is pulling me back. I'll probably stay in the Copa area because I'm somewhat familiar with it.
In exchange for your help all I can do is promise to file a substantial trip report. I got kudos on previous ones, principally about the Philippines which I miss dearly. If you like sincere young women and scuba, that's the place to go. I can give lots of valuable advice there. Incidentally later this year I'm meeting in an exotic location a 28 year old Sweetheart that I met in the Phils 6 years ago. I'm the only guy she has ever been with and she's very devoted. And luscious. God bless the Pinays.
Anyway, I'm requesting your help on these Rio matters. I have scanned hundreds of your reports on the matter, and there are so many. But these questions remain:
1. Once there was a guy who who posted here and called himself Brazil Expert. I rented a room from him for a week or so and he was invaluable in showing me the ropes, personal contacts, wing-manning, advice, etc. I'd give my left nut to again contact him, or someone similar, who can take me under his wing and hit the monger circuit. Any info or volunteers? I'm very good about carrying my own weight and then some. I'm financially comfortable, but I still appreciate value.
2. I see many references to Sperto's list of Prives, but have yet to find it. Help?
3. Would love to connect with mongers who will be there in mid-July. I speak a bit of Spanish which seemed to be understood in Brazil somewhat, but no Portuguese. Again I'm no super-monger, but I enjoy the depravity of it all and want to go for total immersion, if partially vicarious.

It is the not so special ones that regularly report on this forum about issues bringing girls into certain hotels.
