In Oilies they normally just offer next girl in the line (in my experience) which correlates with you saying you were her first customer. Of course I don't know the character of the boss well. I'd never ask a suggestion in a soapy. I think that soapy are mainly for local and asian customers, with very big fishbowl and asian mama / papasan. A girl avoiding eye contact due to shyness is very different (and okay For me) over a girl displaying reluctance.
