Indians are hated everywhere in Thailand
Being an Indian myself I'm not surprised why we get discriminated in Thailand! I have seen how we Indians behave and I have learned my lessons now I travel alone to Thailand!! So far never faced any issue entering clubs planing a trip this Jan!
That's very unlikely to happen, because for every "decent" Indian monger that turns up in LOS, there are 2 more of the "crap" variety that lands up due to relatively cheap airfare and package tours. Relating one instance, I had just had a session at soi 6 and hailed a baht bus to go back to my hotel and found 5 fellow country men occupying the bus, all of them as it turns out were from the same city as I was and they were being extremely loud and boisterous (and they were drunk as well). They made it a point to make the few minutes weird by imitating the thai sing-song voices and generally making fun of the locals (and they couldn't care less). Needless to say, I got off some distance from soi 13 where I was heading and walked the rest of the way. That's when I realised we are a long way from being granted unrestricted access like the 'falang' into all establishments in Pattaya. Even though groups of Indians have almost no access (except at Tony) to any of the shops on WS, they just go to Pattaya in hordes to drink themselves silly, hit on beach road girls and creating a scene wherever possible. I am looking for the silver lining in all of this, but it's hard to find one, therefore the stereotype must go on for the greater good of the locals (not that I like it one bit).
P.s. It just makes the "decent" monger have to up his game, visit alone, overpay (buying unnecessary drinks after the required 1/2) at times because people expect you to act cheap, and generally hope for the best.
