Hello,

I need help, I mean a hint to stay more than 2 months in the philippines and to deal with the the plane return ticket. I can get a visa for 59 days for manila and extend it for 29 days at the airport on the arrival or after during my stay.

My problem is the plane ticket as we must have a return ticket at the airport on departure. It means that I must buy a ticket for 59 days but if I extend my stay for 29 days more the date of my return ticket is no more valid so I have to change the date of my return ticket which is often not possible or buy a new one!

Perhaps I can buy a ticket of 59 days + 29 days and another one to Hong Kong for few days for example at the end of my 59 days and coming back to manila for 1 month (no visa needed) so I even don t need to extend my stay of 29 days at the arrival?

In fact I would like to know how to stay in the philippines without having to exit.

Search Jennifer Terri on youtube. She explains how to do this. Basically you can either buy an onward ticket to somewhere cheap like Thailand, then either refund it or eat the cost, or, there is also a service that will sell you a refundable ticket and they take care of it. Then you just keep extending your visa through one of the agencies there that do this specifically for foreigners.

Depending on where you are from, you can stay 2 or 3 years without having to leave the country. It's as easy as repeatedly extending your visa a week before it expires at any Immigration office.

Remember, to receive any of the extensions your passport still needs to be valid for another 6 months. This means that if you want to stay 12, then your passport needs to be valid for 18 months when you leave home.

Having some issues with the website, 24 hours now.

1) Slow responsiveness of the site while browsing (getting timeouts) or clicking into different forums.

2) Trying to put someone in my ignore list. Found the 'Ignore' link under 'My Settings', where it says to enter the offending party's username in the box and then click OKAY. I click OK (or alternately, SAVE CHANGES), and nothing happens; there is no attempt for the browser to contact the website or do anything, as if the buttons simply don't do anything. Tried multiple browsers.

Anyone else?

Maybe at your end. Try rebooting your computer / device and your modem / router. Sometimes ISP problems at the local transmitter if you're using wireless broadband.

Then yesterday later in the day, I had success with one browser, while the other continues to have the same issues.

On both browsers I continue to have the issue of the SAVE and OK buttons. Moving the mouse over either button changes the mouse from a pointer to a hand (as it should), but clicking on either button did nothing. Then later when I went back to try it again, before I bothered to mouse-over either button, I noticed that the person was now in my Ignore List. Bully for me, but there should be a confirmation at the time: "FATHER McCOBB is now in your Ignore List", or such.

It must be within 30 days (maybe 28?) of your arrival in the Philippines. Extensions are easy as others mentioned. If you're one day late getting your extension it'll cost 1000 pesos, if you're 29 days late it will cost you 1000 pesos.

For an onward ticket you could poke around Expedia and find 24 hour free cancellation. It's harder than it used to be but it's still possible. Buy a one-way flight MNL to Singapore in 28 days. After you figure out how to do it you can wait until the day of your departure to purchase the ticket, screenshot or print out the receipt and itinerary. . Then after you check in, when you're waiting to board the flight, you can cancel the ticket. Usually the card is never charged. You could also do that days or weeks in advance but you run the risk of the check in counter actually confirming it. But that’s highly unlikely

The easiest thing is to just rent a ticket for like $10. Or you can buy a fully refundable ticket and then cancel it once you are through immigration.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to use grab?

I can't add my US credit cards. I tried searching for a solution and best thing I found was advice to use cash to pay.

But what about scenarios like if you're paying for a girls grab?

Correct. Cash is king and always works. Can you open GrabPay on the app? If so, do so and add stored value* using your US Credit card. Yes, the one that Grab won't accept for direct payment. Go figure. Welcome to the Philippines.

Grab were rejecting passengers who are not with the original person making the booking ie Monger A couldn't send a Grab to collect Girl Z without being in the car. Welcome to Covid. I don't know if this has changed.

* This worked with me in another country. If you can activate GrabPay, then it should work for you.

Previously Grab accepted no foreign banks (including mine). Now they seem to accept some / most.
