I apologize for having reopened the can of bees in this regards. The report had its roots in the Pattaya section, however much of the info I had to relate was from Bangkok, hence I took the liberty of posting it here.

On another note I thank you for the information. It has been 6 months since I last visited LOS and my information on the hotel and the avenue I guess is a little outdated due that fact. I will be returning to Bangkok soon and shall let you know of my findings and if there is any update to the scene.

About the hotel from what I know it belonged to a rich Thai businessman and he used it as his own *****house which I have concrete evidence of as I saw the lady at the reception (one of the ladies, not all) had a very good camaraderie with the owner and the info came directly from the horse's mouth. The lady is a sweet can of honey and a very gentle woman (age seems to hardly reflect on thai skin), just a little too old for my personal taste. It is not everywhere in Bangkok that you find a well managed, air con, with pool hotel in a good locale with 24 hour entertainment right at your doorstep for 700 Bhatt/day which is what I paid when I last stayed there 6 months ago.

I am an old hand in thai and my wife is thai. I got hooked to LOS way back from 1998, I am of Indian but spent more than 20 yrs travelling & living overseas for the past 20 yrs, the sad part the Indian just don't know how to behave in society, they just made easy money and once they fly out, they have no idea how to behave. Sometimes I feel ashamed to tell them that I am India. Over years of traveling & living in thai, my wife tell you "kitwoo no no Indian" the reason is you behave normal. Not talk loud, body language, etc.

Mate end of the day, it is numbers, how many people from India travel overseas on holiday? Just a handful of guys are enough to brand the rest of them.- like they say in Bejing. Just check one noodle if the rest of noodles are boiled. So just a idiot is enough. To brand the whole race, I do not blame them PERIOD Indian's just do not know how to behave in mature society.

I can tell 100's of stories how the FL & BG are ripped off, that is only reason why go-gos, bars just hate Indians. They have no clue how to behave. Right from the time they get into plane. From what I know in the side info. TG put's one there tought AH on the flights of India & PAk to handle the indecent PAX.

Mate do not blame TG for the hate. Just think why it has come. And look around, I can tell you N of incidents. After living, traveling across Thai.

Look around, how Indian's can you find in night life other than CM2. Did you come acorss NEP, SOI CB, SOI 33. These guys have no clue, all they end up in cheap MP, beyond this they just don't know and even if venture they have no idea how to behave.

Sad mate. We got to live with it.

The "Siam Hotel" has been totally demolished (was done last year). They are building the station for the new airport link train, and the Siam Hotel has been pulled down and that becomes an access point for the new train station.

With regards to the girls who used to wait around the street to the rear, not been around there for some time, however, with all the construction workers around there now, I would assume its gone, or at the very least been greatly reduced.

We have discussed this many times. In Thailand (and a few other places).....the girls are going bareback a lot more than they should. It is a horrible fact....probably due to lack of education, "Thai style"...what will be will be and a set of religious beliefs. Ok you writw yourself that you didn't follow your own rules you pray to your buddy. But even if you don't hide your money while in the room, I think it's common practice and golden rule in Bangkok that you only take the cash with you you are intending to spend that day. + Pprobably a credit card (only one) for unexpected expenses.

With regard to my experiences, I never had a bad experience so far.

What strikes me is that these same dudes seem very polite and humble when in Europe and US (outside Asia).

But once back in Asia, in particular the favourite holiday-destinations (Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore) they behave rude and despising towards the local people. I don't know why. Is it perhaps some kind of. Racism. (sorry, I didn't want to use this word but could find anything better)

Doubt very much she drugged you if you only slept from 5AM to 9AM. But you were still unlucky. Thai prostitutes are generally the most honest in the World.

Use your in-room safe religiously. That way, you are removing temptation from the equation.

Airstriker, I have to go along with Terry Terrier(I dont want insult you by calling you TT ;) ). Had you been drugged, you probably would have been out for between 12 and 18 hours.
It appears you just fell asleep.

It was bad luck.

This has happened to me many times, however, its not the girl doing anything, its me drinking far too much, then ringing bells and buying lots of girls at different bars lots of drinks, dragging one or two girls back to my room, falling asleep and then waking up not knowing what the hell happened.

Over time, as the memory starts to flicker back, you realise that all your money has gone from buying numerous rounds, not cause one of the girls nicked it.

Anyway, perhaps that is not what happened to you, however, it should be standard procedure for any monger to :

1/ When you get back to the hotel, send her into the shower ALONE, and then while she is doing that, your phone, keys, wallet, money and anything else you so want is then put into the room safe and locked away. Leave enough out to pay her, thats it.

2/ If you are unsure of the girl, as in she is a freelancer, or in particular a street walker, then when you go into your hotel, tell her that the hotel require her ID, and make sure the hotel reception takes it (this is standard practise in some hotels).

This means she cannot get her ID and leave until reception have phoned you, and asked you if all is ok and she can leave.

If you fail to follow these two basic principles anywhere in the world, you are leaving yourself open to getting done over.

Apologies in advance for stupid question, but...

I'm staying in Le Fenix next week, which I understand has a joiner's fee. I have never stayed at a hotel that has such a thing (or I have managed to avoid it). For various reasons this time I am only interested in ST while I am there. So if I bring a girl back at say 8pm, does the duty manager leap out at me and demand 500Bht (presumably not), or does it go quietly on my bill. Do they wait to see what time the girl emerges? Is the fee for any joiner or just one staying overnight and emerging at 9am? If the fee is for every girl returning at any time, it could get expensive for me (in all modesty!).

Actually I have a strong view about being charged a fee when I have booked a double room, so whatever happens I will argue my case. But don't intend to do that at midnight with a TG in tow... (I have stayed at some smart hotels in the past when the company was paying, and have avoided all issues of ID cards or joiners fees by engaging in animated conversation with the girl as I walk to the lifts, avoiding all eye contact with the staff).

Would be grateful for any clarification.

All I have to say about this is that you must really scare easily. my take on girls wanting to fuck you bareback is simply this - it´s then YOUR decision to either fuck her bareback, or NOT to fuck her bareback. And I personally don´t give a shit either way. Because when I fuck someone, I ASSUME she´s fucked other guys bareback, and I use my own brain to tell me what to do. As far as I´m concerned, anyone who thinks that they can actually influence other folks behavior on an anonymous forum is naive in the extreme. We are all in charge of our own actions, and it is silly to think otherwise and to act otherwise.
