This scam happened to me twice during the years. One time from a "datingapp" and one time from MR. Luckily I managed to flee without any damage both times. Don't fool yourself that it only happens in Deira since my encounters were in The Marina and JLT.

These gangs are would live in areas where they get cheap goods and services and possibly African stores and Spas. I would be surprised if I ever heard that happening in Burj Khalifa or at One JBR. Now you're right to highlight that this can happen in most areas of Dubai thanks for the details about your own experience. All of us should exert some caution and with some common sense and remembering not to ever ever ever get into a room if you don't see your host, I'd would think that most of the risk is eliminated.

I thought more people would read it if I posted it here, and wanted my story to serve as a warning to as many people as possible. I don't want to scare anyone, but I do want all to be very aware of the risks, and act accordingly.

I did not report it to the police because I am not single, and I know this country is very strict with extramarital affairs. The African attackers were very aware of this, and repeated several times that I was going to lose my job and be deported should the cops found me in that apartment with them. They also told me they were illegally in the country, so they didn't mind at all if they were caught or deported. Also, they threatened me with the video they recorded of me naked to a chair. Who knows where that video is now. So, basically, once you get in that situation, you're fu.

Just to give you a bit of background, I am quite a paranoid guy, and try to check for all risks. I also thought this would never happen to me, as well as I used to think those stories of guys that meet a gorgeous chick, take her to their hotel and wake up next day with a scar on their tummy and with one less kidney were just urbal legends. Well, I guess I changed my mind.

I called to the same number, and chatted a lot with "the girl" on WhatsApp, and went to see her in a nice residence building in Palm Jumeirah, right before getting to The Fairmont Hotel. It was late, after midnight, and the security guy did not let me in. I tried as hard as I could, but the guy did not let me in, so I arranged for another visit the next day, and that's when I was asked to go to the place in Business Bay. So this was really meant to happen.

The chat with this one was normal, as usual, and nothing really raised a red flag. I guess after more than 10 years of good experiences I got relaxed.

In any case, I don't think this will happen to me again. I'll take tons of precautions. I don't think I'll ever go to an incall service again, and if I go, I'll be very prepared to defend myself properly and without hesitation. I've used some massage services with happy ending in high end hotels, with masseuses that are like top models, but they only provide happy ending with HJ, unfortunately. If I ever do get an outcall service in my hotel, I will make sure to be very prepared as well. As somebody said here before: take cash only, and only what you need for the service, no credit cards or any other documents, no main phone, and with some personal protection weapon. But I am happy I am alive, and that this served as a very expensive lesson. Next step it to source a small, but powerful weapon, for personal protection. I did some research after the fact, as I wanted revenge, but it is hard to find one in Dubai, unless you produce it at home.
