Zaragoza/Circular Building
When one enters Mexico via the Zaragoza bridge, the first key intersection is where the Campo Motel is on the left side of the street, keep driving, and the Rapiditos Bip-Bip is on the left as one exits the intersection. The next key intersection has Valentinos (Mugroso says now called Jokers Gold), also on the left side of the street, close to this intersection there is a stop light. Turn right at the light and one sees Cal TV on the right and heads to Juarez.
So, is this intersection where the circular building is the one where the Campo Motel is, followed by the Rapididos just after the intersection, or is it the intersection where the stop light is just after Valentinos/Jokers Gold and Cal TV sits on the right as one turns at the stop light to drive to Juarez?
I looked at the map and it was confusing for me as maps are not my specialty.
Thanks.

Pre-arrange with taxi to BUTT OUT?
Has anyone ever just walked up to a Juarez taxi & said sumthin' like "I want a ride to the Pink Lady (or other venue destinations) but I don't want you to call them on the way or come in with me or arrange for a cut for yourself in any way whatsoever." ?
Has it or could it work?
And is it be to complicated a concept for a non-Spanish speaking monger to get across to a broken-English speaking taxi driver?
I mean, hey, I don't begrudge them for getting a cut from a monger who THEY turned on to this or that attraction, but every time that I pay their cut, I'm kinda screwing around the guys HERE who were the ones that turned ME onto it.
Zaragoza/Circular Building & Taxi Drivers
Meat Loaf, my question is that as one enters Mexico via the Zaragoza bridge, is this circular building located at:
1- The intersection where the cars can begin to start lining up to go to El Paso, where the (Campo) Motel is, and close by is a Rapiditos Bip-Bip, etc. , but there is no stop light.
2- Or, is it a bit further down the street, close to where Valentinos (now Jokers Gold) was/is located and a stop light follows at a busy intersection? At this busy intersection, there is a Cal TV, a Pemex station, etc.
Quarterback, I have mongered in Mexico for almost 30 years and I can tell you three things about your taxi driver question: When in Mexico, we are not in our own backyard, and the taxi business is a big business and these drivers have "cut a deal" with the Pink Lady to get a cut of the pie if they transport you there and wait for you to bring you back. Third, you can also walk to the Pink Lady if you wish, I have a friend who does it regularly, but he also has been stopped and frisked by the fine bicycle cops of Juarez. Last time they relieved him of $45. So we can take our choices, pay the taxi driver and more money at the bar, or take a risk and walk it whereby you may make it OK or you may be bothered by cops.

Zaragoza Circular Building & Taxi Drivers
Meat Loaf,
Thanks for posting. I will simply look for the circular building and ask questions to locate it.
Normally with these bicycle police, what happens is they work in pairs. With your hands up against a wall one cop will ask you a series of questions to distract what the other cop is doing, frisking you and going through your wallet. The second cop is the one who relieves you of your money without saying a word and when they let you go, if they do, you discover how much money is missing. If this happens you can report this to the police station if you have a badge number, bicycle and or van number, on a street called Oro, close to the 16th of september st. Only go if you are certain of a means to identify the cops (numbers, etc.), and if your Spanish is not good, take along a bilingual, preferably Mexican citizen with you to translate. The last two times I was frisked, I was not robbed, but I was totally sober and I can understand what these cops are saying to each other.
Quarterback, I am guessing, but my hunch is that yes, you can get a taxi driver to agree to take you to the Pink Lady and simply leave and the driver may leave as agreed. Chances are he won't like it, and though he may agree to do it, he still might "follow you inside" a couple of minutes later and that's when the bartender asks you if you want to buy your driver a drink, etc. Some guys have these drivers drop them off at an SMart supermarket nearby and they walk to the bar from there, but these drivers are wise to this as well. For me, this is all speculation as this is what my friends who go to the Pink Lady tell me and what I read on this post. I still have success downtown, so don't go to the PL myself very often.
Thanks.
