I'll be in Cape Town and Johannesburg in a few months, and I've read a lot of reports about fun times in both cities. However, I'm very concerned about the high HIV rate in South Africa. I'm thinking of going and only allowing hand jobs and covered blow jobs (probably with two or three girls at the same time). So, no vaginal or anal sex and no FIV.

Given that strategy, would the most bang for the buck be strip clubs or massage parlors?

Also, condoms will do you well. If you use them properly then you're really good to go. I went, saw about 9 women in a week, strapped up and came back clean.

Hell, if you really want to be certain. You can take PreP before going down. Regardless, if you're going to go through these precautions, it might even be better to skip the trip all together.

But to answer your question: Not sure on massage parlours. There's a site called ESA that's been referenced here. Check there for listings. For strip clubs, I can only speak to Royal park in Jozi. In a bit of a rough area (especially if you're white) but the ladies there are really thick. Big asses and the like.

Another thing is to also try the semi-pro angle to mitigate risk. Even better, have a chick take one of those at home tests before proceeding. The semi-pro angle might take a little longer, but you can clear up your doubts. SA women are very, very heavy bottomed. Would be nice to try it I imagine.

It's been years since I did the tour in Joburg for sex, but I have been back for business recently. Driving around Joburg-itself- is not for the faint of heart. Not something you want to do in the urban inside of the city. Mid rand, and outside fine, but inner parts NO. All in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Johannesburg is a great place to party and for tourism. The women are friendly and approachable. If a person can't apply common sense and have street smarts, maybe it's not for them. That would apply to any place in the world.
