Medellin Reports

I used my Schwab card during Thanksgiving break and got near market rate of around 2,200 peso on the dollar. I have the chip equipped on my card and surprisingly it worked at every ATM I used including Bancolombia, BBVA, and a bunch others. But those ATMs usually have maximum withdrawal of 300,000 COP, so I just basically did it twice. I know Citibank has maximum of 700,000 COP. Schwab reimburses all ATM fees. I remember running into a lot of problems using my Schwab card in Colombia for the first time a year ago as a new Schwab costumer. But now, it's easy peasy.

Don't you ever go out on the town and have fun with a lady, or is it just slam bam thank you mam'? You must of been burned more than once to have such a cynical attitude.

You can withdraw 1,000,000 COP from the one on Avenida 33, a couple blocks down from Carrera 80, as well as the one in front of Jumbo on 65, as well as the one near Coltijer (actually closer to the McDonalds closest to Coltijer, on the second floor where McDonalds is). You can withdraw 1,000,000 at least twice in a row at those locations.

The one in the Home Center parqueadero on San Juan only gives 700,000 max last time I was there, and the one that was on the outside of Exito San Antonio has been closed down I think.

Also if you have a CitiGold account there are no ATM fees.

Also, the casa scene is looking better than it has in a while. Quite a few new cuties in several different casas around ground zero.

Hahahah! I call this the Dec effect. Students are out of school so they have free time and need that Navidad and New Years money! Early-Mid Dec is the very best time in Mede! Late Dec-early Jan is the worst! All the girls are with their families and the town is dead.

But we will see how it goes. I will def report back. The cover is actually 10 k but they require a 1/2 or full bott purchase. I believe the 1/2 bott start at 65 k or something like that. I was thinking of spending 165 k for good bottle plus 10 k ea for cover approx 200 k total.

Cuidate![/QUOTE]This is normal rate for any regular club. There is a a 10-20 k cover per person and a bottle costs 100 k for local stuff. If you want international liquor such as vodka or whiskey, it is a bit more. Maybe 150 k. All in all it will add up to about 200 k. BTW, this is pretty standard in Colombia but don't leave a tab open. Close the tab when the bottle comes. Also, Colombians can drink like fish! If she happens to meet up with friends and they want another bottle, split it with all the guys. If it is all girls, then you have to either step up and be the big man or just suggest that you leave.

They don't just pour out half the bottle and give it to someone else like I thought my first trip. LOL.

I am hearring reports of all these hot chicas but it seems normal to me with a few hotties mixed within the not so hotties. Went to Energy recently, and I have to say in the looks department, the selection was great. However, I find the performances there can be a bit more sterile.

Basically the same cartoon character theme. 200 K will cover around 4 light drinkers for 2-3 hours. Really fun place to go. What Ricker cautions is correct. Yes it's only 100 USD but after a few times it gets old being the mobile bank. My rule of thumb now is that if they want to take a girlfriend fine. Any male friends pay their own damn way, including a split of the bar tab. Make it clear from the get go or else you will be stuck with the bill.
