The little flood is over. It did not affect any mongering activities and all was well. As was expected by most people apart from a few panic merchants trying to mislead and scare people.

So, all the water will be gone in a couple of weeks, levels are falling, its all over, and Sukhumvit mongering area's and inner Bangkok were never affected anyway (as I said they would not be.)

So can we now move on back to mongering only and stop all this nonsense about floods.

Despite all relief reports from yesterday that the high tide is over and the water can run off into the Gulf of Thailand now the problem remains. There is an interesting map in the Bangkok Post piece. Worth to take a look.

The discussion about opening flood gates is ongoing. It looks to me that it is an apolitical discussion. One side believes that opening the flood gates helps to increase the water quantity being moved southwards, the other side sees the risks that wider parts of Bangkok gets flooded, including the last remaining dry industrial parks of this part of the country. Now you can argue whether it is right or wrong to socialize the flood and let everybody take his share (means also the central Bangkokians). The government has to make this decision.

Right now the flood gates are opened more and more, citizens on the northern side of the flood gates fight for opening those gates hoping to lower the water levels in their home areas. There are serious conflicts ongoing there.

As for the past few days the water moved southwards into Lak Si, Ram Inthra, Bang Khen - now approaching Lhat Phrao. Ratchadapisek Soi 36 was mentioned, too, this morning.

I don't know what the right thing to do is. Politicizing Know-It-All's (even from Japan, as you can read in the Japan Times) can make their statements, if they wish. I just know what will happen if too much water is released through the city and the canals are overflowing. We saw it in Lak Si and Ram Inthra, when the rain drainage system reversed and the water was coming out of the drains flooding the streets. Those areas are still flooded right now.

Those who believe that this cannot happen in other parts of the city could be proven wrong very soon.

To believe that the situation in Bangkok can be simplified to only looking at central Bangkok is inhuman, to a certain extend. The flood situation in the west and the north of the city is disastrous. People living in 50cm - 100cm more and more polluted water - there still is a catastrophe ongoing, also here in Bangkok!

Angel Massage on Soi 24/1 is still a good place to go if you're wandering on Sukhumvit. I've had maybe 7 or 8 birds from there. However, the last girl I was with there was a total ***** and started yelling at me. Holy shit that pissed me off, but I don't want to do battle in Thailand and end up in a ditch somewhere so I told her off quietly while making my way to the door with a commitment to put the place on ice for a few months. Thankfully, we did the deed before she started ranting. BTW, she was ranting about how she's a high class ho and should never be asked for seconds. Hey, if you like the food, who doesn't ask for seconds? She could have just said "no" without going nuts.

Finally, to the title of this post and my question: there are a lot of Thai karaoke-type places on On-nut. Do you guys now if a falang can squeeze some P4P out of them? Or, are their other massage parlors or bars around here that will do P4P? I live in the area and I'm getting lazier and lazier to venture down Suk-on-this for action. There's a lot of women that work in the bars and go-gos but live around here (so I've heard) and I'm hopeful there's some local options available. I'd love to get the names of some places you all have visited on On-nut, prices and SOP. All input is welcome and appreciated!
