Trump's fake disaster sincerity, is why he should stick to throwing paper towels..
What could have saved and has saved so many dying in North Carolina are helicopters? And where were they?
This is Trump's speech on Hurricane Helene on September 30. https://x.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1840826368361386437.
This was two days before Biden activated the military to help. Trump retweeted the question of why the military with its helicopters were not being used. The helicopters might not have been used if Trump had not shown up and questioned whey they were going to be deployed.
BBC (News) Verify: Biden condemns misinformation about hurricane, Oct 9th, 2024
Did Biden call the Governor of Georgia?
''But earlier that day, Georgias Governor Brian Kemp - a Republican - said in an interview: The president just called me yesterday afternoon (Sept 29th), I missed him and called him right back, and he just said hey what do you need? and I told him we've got what we need, were working through the federal process. ''
Were any helicopters sent to help victims?
By the time Trump made this remark on 5 October, the North Carolina National Guard, which is under the dual command of federal and state governments, had already posted on X that its air assets have completed 146 flight missions, resulting in the rescue of 538 people and 150 pets.
The post, published on 3 October, featured a video of a National Guard helicopter. ''
BBC Verify Link: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czd1q9q9gl9o

So from the BBC Verify article, it verifies that many of the rescue resources were being deployed, before Trump's remark on Oct 5th and I'm guessing, even before his so called remarks, in his Sept 30th speech, judging by the number of National Guard flight missions and helicopters in operation, by Governor Kemp when he spoke with Biden on the afternoon of Sept 29th, and said, "I told him we've got what we need".
If anything, that little faux par, was on Governor Kemp, as to why there weren't helicopters (if immediately needed at the time), there sooner.
Even if Trump did, mention helicopters (Sept 30th), in some deranged, montage of babbling, between 'Hannibal Lecter' and dying by either a shark attack, or electrocuted by an EV, that no way dismisses or negates the 30 to 50 other dis-misinformation lies, rants and gobbledygook, about the disaster relief efforts, that directly impact and affect lives of those needing help and those administering help, rather than muddying the waters, by trying to politicizing the disaster for political gain.
As for your completely idiotic comment Spidy, that it was Trump misinformation that killed people versus not having helicopters deployed, I would be running that as a campaign aid. If you want censorship and an administration tackling misinformation, then vote Harris. ...
Hardly "idiotic", when Dems, Repubs, Governors, various department heads, the National Guard and LE, all in a bipartisan effort, are telling Trump and you knuckleheads, to "...STOP THE LYING!", you're hampering the recovery and rescue process.
Never said anything of the sort in my post, about Donald's misinformation killing people, but if that's what you think, who I am to argue, with that logic. It certainly wouldn't be the first time, his lies have gotten people, cops or politicians killed, injured or running for their lives, from his MAGA hordes and stochastic terrorists.
You talk a lot of smack about censorship and dis-misinformation, when here you are posting, from one of the most hypocritical social media websites when it comes to censorship and dis-misinformation. C'mon now, we all know today, X is mostly just a wasteland of right-wing propaganda.
Sorry I don't believe or trust, much on the Helene disaster, coming outta that rebranded right-wing sewage-shit-box, called X (Twitter), when they are part of the dis-misinformation troll farms. I would ask anyone, to provide collaborating sources, when posting any important critical information, coming from X.
I wouldn't doubt it, if that video to the speech was doctored, as part of the Repub right-wing "X" dis-misinformation, sausage factory. It wouldn't be the first time 'Leon', has done something untoward, byway of a partisan hack.
"The Worst Economy Ever", but, but, but...
Trump and his Repubs as well as so many other economic gurus here and elsewhere have cited the closure of some restaurants that serve overpriced crap is proof positive that Bidenomics is a terrible, terrible failure, that nobody has any money, nobody can buy food, this is "the worst economy ever"!
...Restaurants are having their biggest year ever! (...kkkk!)
What was it now, that the so called ISG Repub economists here, were using as an economic barometer, as the impending doom for the food/restaurant business and the broader markets?
Ahhh yes,...the filing of bankruptcy for Red Lobster, if I'm not mistaken, was going to be the economy killer. (...kkkk!)
So this just can't be true:
Restaurants are having their biggest year ever.
https://www.axios.com/2024/06/05/restaurants-tipping-dining-food
In fact, this is the 3rd year in a row that restaurant sales have beat pre-Trump's Pandemic year 2019.
Thanks, Joe. Bon Appetit!
Good post, Good find, Good economic news!
Great Job President Biden and Veep Harris!
PS: Although I'm happy for the restaurant industry, tipping fatigue is a bit problematic among consumers these days and a bit of a downer.
Nice reply, I agree (mostly)
LOL. Well, in the USA, we used to have the notion that if there were 10 people and 9 were criminals, we would let all of them go so as to not jail an innocent person. Thing is criminals rarely are reformed and you will catch them again doing bad things eventually.
Now the attitude is if we have 5 innocent people and 5 guilty ones, we will put all ten in jail even if we have to trample the constitution, and that bugs me. With Ross Ulbricht, law enforcement and the Department of Justice should have done its job without trampling the Constitution.
So as for Ross Ulbricht, the standard of criminal justice is beyond a reasonable doubt. That is the law and it was not applied here. If you do not think law enforcement stuffing their pants with a million dollars does not constitute reasonable doubt, you should not be on a jury.
On the other hand, if the government wants to sue him and take his money away, the standard is much lower.
Governments have killed way more people than Ross Ulbricht ever had, and if it means not putting Ross Ulbricht in jail as a means of insisting that government follows the rules, then IMO so be it.
Ad IMO MDS, the DEA has killed way more innocent people than Ross Ulbricht has.
I know a lot about the law, I think more than most, I studied pre-law and recd all As in every legal course.
I've been in court before and have had judges asked me if I was an atty lolol.
The reason I share that, I'm trying to qualify my opinion a bit.
I really hate drug dealers, that said I'm no fan of drug users either.
But I don't know much about his case other than how they actually arrested that Stoopid motherfucker.
But if he didn't get a fair trial why didn't the appeals process offer him relief?
I know the whole system is dirty as fuck, look at Trump look at Blagovich Kwame Kilpatrick and many many many others.
I know the system espec well, ie the Family Court / for divorces and child custody / child support.
I'm sure there are Third World countries with court systems with much much more integrity.
When Trump is re elected again a 2nd time in a few weeks.
I wish there was a way for him to order a new trial but of course I know it doesn't work that way.
But short of that I guess a pardon is the next best thing.
I'm certainly not directing this at you, but it bothers me when conservatives are upset when this guy gets railroaded (according to you).
But don't give a shit when millions of nameless others do.
Post script.
(I'm not a conservative).
I was gun carrying member of the ACLU during university in the 80's lololol.
Bitcoin: it is not for those who wear panties!
And now it is not easy?
For me it is not as easy as allowing a intermediary to hold everything for you. That fuckery turns everyone into a baby having their hand held in the new nanny state. I am a real man. I sovegien individuals. I don't need to mother fuckers telling how can use the capital I have saved and invested by working the better part of my lifetime, shedding blood, sweat and tears working on government / corporate slave wage plantations in the United Staes of America. The current banking system is run by the Plutocratic class and is design to enrich that class at the expense of the common man like me. Now some would not know a thing about that because they are the privileged because of what their father and mother looked like and where she pushed them out of her vagina.
The system so many posting about here is a system where you have to ask permission to have your own money.
Fuck dat shit!
When was the last time you held a stock certificate of one of those dividend holding companies you have in your portfolio? The actual note from a bond you purchased? Don't answer that. Because you haven't mother fucker. You depend on trusted intermediaries to handle thing for you and that is all well and good until it isn't. LOL!
Some people don't the first thing about buying crypto. They don't know how to own it. That is why you making so many accusations about it. Because you want me to explain it to you because you don't understand it. Because you just cannot call your bookie (ooops, I mean broker) up on the phone and place an order. Now you can use the internet to buy stocks and bonds. You can do the same to buy crypto.
I thought you just put money in crypto and it does nothing but go up.
Bitcoin has worked that way for me. But I had do a lot of homework to understand it. Homework many have not done because they keep asking questions about and instead of admitting that they really don't know shit they instead choose to put out misinformation.
And who was Sam Bankman-Fried?
He was white boy of privilege who went to a top university in the United States of America. He was able to build a business based solely on his reputation because people did not do their due diligence because of who he was.
Namely: He was white boy of privilege!
And why was he tossed in jail?
Samuel Bankman-Fried, also known as SBF, 32, of Stanford, California, was sentenced to 25 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $11 billion in forfeiture for his orchestration of multiple fraudulent schemes
Not your keys; Not your crypto Only keep the amount of value in crypto that you need on the exchange of your choice to perform your transactions. The rest should be self custody using a combination of a hot wallet and cold wallet. I never went near FTX because I know what I am doing!
This is so basic, yet it requires self education. If you are not ready to take responsibility for self. Bitcoin and crypto is not for you. Because currently there is no nanny state, hand holding protections for those who participate in the crypto market. Hopefully it will remain a place reserved for individuals who understand what they are buying and the risks they are taking.
FFlintstone69 I see you are reading and commenting on my posts again. Are you learning a lot about crypto from me?
I hope you aren't defending dirty doctors or even worse are one of them
MDS, I have gotten word the deep state part of the executive branch is so corrupt that they will turn their spying apparatus on judges they do not like, and the deep state really, really, really wanted Ulbricht, so they were not going to risk their careers standing up for a guy who appears to be not innocent. In fact, the judge sentenced him to more than even the prosecution was looking for.
The list of actual charges is listed here: https://freeross.org/the-charges/.
On May 29,2015, Ross Ulbricht, a first-time offender, was sentenced to double life plus 40 years without parole for all non-violent convictions. He was never prosecuted for causing harm or bodily injury. No victim was named at trial.
Well, there are always going to be both. But an organization like the DEA always needs an enemy to exist. So in 2013, they focused on new things. One was prescription drugs and doctors. The other was the dark web. They launched criminal investigations against both, reduced the number of drugs being prescribed and sold over the dark web, and what happened? The number of overdoses skyrocketed.
Thing about doctors is they were prescribing safe drugs. Very few people who took their drugs correctly died. With Silk Road, it was an Ebay type system in which users rated the quality of the dealer. If that system had been in place, the people dying from buying Fentanyl dressed up to look like Oxycontin or Xanax would not have died.
Given the DEA's method of handling things has been such a disaster, they have changed course. They are banking everything on Suboxone and claiming the same crap about Suboxone that they did about Oxycontin. And like Oxycontin, suboxone is a generic drug or drugs put in a new shell that a drug company charges 20 X more for.
As for why Republicans are freeing Ross Ulbricht, I cannot speak for everyone. For a lot, it is the government going way too far for a nonviolent offender. https://freeross.org/support/.
If he is so bad, you should be able to get one person to testify against him that says they were harmed. The government did not do that..
There is a website run by dirty doctors defending them from charges I can't find the link maybe later (most certainly a bunch of "Libertarians."
These "doctors" mostly foreign born losers that can't find real patients, they run pill mills, they're all over the country.
Mostly in the poorest areas, I'm guessing they also got kickbacks from scumbags like the Sacklers.
Are you implying these are victimless crimes? I hope they all got the max sentence and die in prison.
Check this beech out.

And I agree with everything you say about the courts they are a complete and utter fucking joke.
Criminal justice in the USA is the quintessential oxymoron.
