"Pro" rats looking for a good deal on ST! ;)
It's high & dry here on Sathorn Road. But the sandbags keep piling up?

http://vimeo.com/31506833
I very much appreciate your video which was rivetting! I lived in Central Bangkok for many years and indeed I still visit every two to three months so I have a permanent affinity with everything Thai!
I work in West Africa at the moment and I am due next in BKK early January 2012!
Once again thanks for your very moving piece of work.
Best regards.

Guess the floods not only affected the big multinationals. Went to Poseidon with a friend after work a few days ago, we got there around 8, and the pickings were slim. The mama san said that most of the girls left Bangkok and went back to the provinces. I was last here in early October and it was packed with girls on the second and third floors. And it looks like most of the Russian girls at CM2 have headed out to Pattaya.
Jackson, can we please stop all this Flood Reporting crap now.
LOL,
First participating in the "Flood Reporting Crap", then even politicizing it. And now crying like a baby for the father to clean up.

PS: Calm down, it's just a "Little Flood". 430 + people dead up to now.

Only in the past few days western media seem to have noticed there is a bit too much water in some streets of BKK adn around.
Fact is that images are showing the most flooded parts, giving the idea the whole of BKK is like this.
We do no not underestimate the broadness of the flood, but it is not as wide as depicted (still we feel simpathy for those affected, even if it is only a small soi)
With regard to the pro, well we all know that if there is no price flame he is not interested in anything.

I to appreciate greatly your updates on the Flood. I live up here in Nongbulamphu (Kutdu village) and though we are not encountering floods I am greatly interested in the the rest of Thailand. Specially Bangkok! Thank You!

As I watched the part of the video where the aid worker is treading barefoot down a flooded street, I thought to myself, no way would I do that; a really dangerous move. The road has become a god dam sewer. Polluted water combined with sharp unseen objects. Forget the visa, guy. Then I read this report in the Wall Street Journal about the danger of disease in the flooded areas. This is very serious. 'Thai Flooding Causes Threat of Disease:'

All this is very sad to me as I love Thailand, escpecially BKK. One of the major things that is and will be happening is the disease factor. Respiratory and body infections, athletes foot, dengue fever, diarrhea, vomitting, etc. There is filthy water and human/animal fecal matter floating all over the place. Not in Suk I know, but other areas are really suffering.
One thing to think about is the health of the girls. Many of these infections can be transmitted to others. I have known mongers who claim they got dengue fever from girls. Mainly transmitted through mosquito bites, it can also be transmitted via blood.
Be careful out there everyone.
I have known mongers who claim they got dengue fever from girls. Mainly transmitted through mosquito bites, it can also be transmitted via blood.
Do you have any references to factional information that support this statement?
All I could find was: "Transmission of the Dengue Virus"
"Dengue is transmitted between people by the mosquitoes Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, which are found throughout the world. Insects that transmit disease are vectors. Symptoms of infection usually begin 4. 7 days after the mosquito bite and typically last 3. 10 days. In order for transmission to occur the mosquito must feed on a person during a 5- day period when large amounts of virus are in the blood; this period usually begins a little before the person become symptomatic. Some people never have significant symptoms but can still infect mosquitoes. After entering the mosquito in the blood meal, the virus will require an additional 8-12 days incubation before it can then be transmitted to another human. The mosquito remains infected for the remainder of its life, which might be days or a few weeks.
In rare cases dengue can be transmitted in organ transplants or blood transfusions from infected donors, and there is evidence of transmission from an infected pregnant mother to her fetus. But in the vast majority of infections, a mosquito bite is responsible."

Trust me guys, you don't want to get Dengue Fever. And, about the only way you will get it from a P4P girl is if she has it, and the mosquito that bites her decides to bite you on your bare ass next!
Thanks for the correction. I misunderstood it as it says the fever can be spread through"blood products" The example they gave for that is syringes.
It is still something to be generally concerned about, especially in SEA when you have all the current flood / water issues.

I was infected while staying in Pattaya last summer. Not fun, as I was very sick for several weeks, and some of the affects lingered for months.
