Chris Longs guide to mongering in Sosua
Chris Longs guide to mongering in Sosua.
I am going to write a beginners guide on Sosua. I have been spending a great deal of time on the Asia related boards as I am going to Thailand for the first time in June for twenty days and have been asking a great deal of questions. So I want to give something back for the help they have been giving me. Bear in mind this guide is written for the Asian monger crowd who have never been to Sosua so Sosua vets may not find anything new in this report. (but please feel free to add or correct where needed)

Sosua:
Sosua is a beach town along the north cost of the island of Hispaniola in the Dominican Republic, which is located within the Caribbean. It is a small town in the Puerto Plata province of the Dominican Republic. Located approximately 4 miles from the Puerto Plata International Airport POP, the town is accessed primarily by Camino Cinco, or Highway 5, which runs much of the length of the country's North coastline. The town is divided into three sectors: El Betay, which is the main section where most tourists visit, Sosua Abajo, and Los Charamicos. Prostitution in the Dominican Republic is legal, but a third party may not derive financial gain from prostitution, brothels or similar establishments are illegal. However, the government usually does not enforce prostitution laws. The Dominican Republic has gained a reputation of being a major destination for international sex tourism, Sex tourism is common, especially in Sosua.
Airport:
The airport that you fly into when you visit Sosua is Puerto Plata, airport code POP. It's a small airport and easy to navigate. There is a $10. Tourist visa / tax that you pay before you go through immigration, it's a pretty simple process you stand in line pay your $10. Your given a recite right after that there is a booth where they will give you a free glass of rum. After that you show your recite before you enter immigration which is done just like any other place, the officer is sitting in the both you stand in line wait your turn they scan your passport stamp it and that's it then you go to luggage, pick up your luggage if you have any, go through customs place your luggage on a conveyer to be ex rayed and that is it, you exit to your left as soon as you exit the building to your right will be drivers waiting for their pick up. If you arranged to have someone pick you up they will be there holding a sign with your name on it if not you can get a taxi there. The standard price from the airport to Sosua is $25. One way, it's about a ten to twenty minute drive tops; you exit the airport and turn left on highway five.
There is a money exchange in the airport right where you pick up your luggage. BUT DON'T EXCHANGE MONEY THERE, you get HORIBLE rates. Once in Sosua there will be tons of places to exchange your money where you will get far better rates.
Hotels:
You will find the majority of monger friendly hotels along Dr. Rosen Dr. Right in the heart of the action.
I almost always stay at one of Rocky's establishments http://www.rockysbluesbar.com/ Usually Sosua Suites. I have also stayed in the lower cost rooms inside of Rocky's itself. What I like about Rocky's is the free airport pick up and drop off, this is a $50, savings on your trip as its $25, one way to and from the airport. Sosua suites is actually like a little one bedroom apartment you get a living room separate bedroom and kitchen for the same price you will pay for a hotel room. The benefit of Sosua Suites is if / when you wife up (keep a girl for a day or more) the two of you have a little apartment to stay in rather than just a hotel room and if / when you entertain, have people over, it's a lot more comfortable than just a hotel room. Also having a kitchen means you can buy food at the supermarket and prepare it yourself which will save you money from eating out. Sosua suites is also right in the heart of the action once you exit turn to your right and walk up to the corner and there's the strip but you will also find girls walking up and down the street in front of the place, I can't begin to tell you how many times I've walked out the front of the place only to see a girl before I even took two steps and turned around and went right back up with her. There are also hair dressers and message places right next door and ALL of these girls are available for boom boom. On my last trip I took many of these girls up for short time. The Massage parlor girls would ask if I wanted a massage in their place but I was pretty direct and told them I want sex at my place and all will come back to your place for sex. There is also a pool and a deck in Sosua Suites, the pool is a little small for lap swimming but not bad. There are also a few families that live in Sosua Suites as well. You will occasionally see children playing you will also see a few women coming in and going who don't look like they are on the program. You want to use caution when in Sosua Suites and not approach every woman you see and proposition her, you may find yourself confronted by a very unhappy husband. There is a wall separating the front pool and deck from the sidewalk with a sliding door. At night there is a security guard there but there is no I'd check that I've ever seen of the chicas you bring in.
The negative/ (positive) on Sosua Suites is that it is right in the heart of the action, noise can be a problem especially if you are staying on the side of the building that is closest to the strip. The bars on the strip go until 3:am so the noise on that side of the building will be bad until that time, it's not as bad on the opposite side of the building. Also just like any down town anywhere in the world you will have the occasional individual driving by honking, load pipes or load music. The benefit is your right in the heart of the action the negative is your right in the heart of the action. Internet can be painfully slow and weak at times.
Rocky's also has some lower cost rooms for $27 a night plus an additional $10 a night if you want air conditioning. I've stayed in these rooms before and there not bad, not great, but not bad for what you are paying, definitely workable, the chicas I took back to them never seemed to mind. If you're on a budget its not a bad place to stay, these rooms seem to get sold out a lot so they must not be that bad. As I recall the internet was ok when I stayed there but I have spoken with others who said they were not able to get the internet when staying there. The rooms are behind the restaurant itself, you walk through the restaurant there's a little court yard in the back where the rooms are. The restaurant closes at midnight and they lock the front gate. You are given a key to unlock the front gate so you can come and go to your room. Rocky's and Sosua Suites are right across the street from each other and because the rooms at Rocky's are set off the street, noise is not that bad.
My second favorite place to stay is the New Garden Hotel, http://www.newgardenhotel.net/ If Rocky's didn't exist this is where I would always stay. Room rates start at $60 a night in the old wing when paying in cash and on up. New Garden has what it calls the old wing and the new wing. Rooms are cheaper in the old wing. I have been in both wings and personally I never seen much of a difference between the two wings. There is a pool with a deck a bar and a restaurant all outdoors with a roof over the bar and restaurant. The pool is a little bigger than the one at Sosua Suites but still not a lap pool. The New Garden does have girls available for boom boom, however these girls do not work for New Garden they are free lancers who wonder in hang out and wonder out, the talent can be hit or miss. I always had pretty good wireless internet when staying at the New Garden. They do not provide free airport pick up they can arrange your pick up and drop off but cost will be $25 each way.
Terra Linda Hotel between Rocky's and New Garden, never stayed there, have looked at the place, was told it is guest friendly, rooms look nice but a little more expensive. Have heard a few negative things about the place, story was a monger staying there had trouble with a chica he took back to the room, she went to the police made accusations against him and he was arrested. The owner of the place was said to be less than helpful to the monger, refused to give the surveillance film to the police that would have validated the monger's story.
Casa Cayena Hotel, have never stayed there, have gone down and looked at the place, Nice pool and court yard probably the best of all the other mentioned hotels. Room rates are comparable to New Garden, was told it was guest friendly. The hotel is along Dr. Rosen Drive the same street Rocky's / Sosua Suites, New Garden and Terra Linda are on however; it is farther down from the strip than the other hotels. Have heard a few negative things about the place, some accusations about money missing from the in room safe, some have claimed it was an inside job. Some have claimed management was less than helpful. Others deny this ever happened, and claim a guest was trying to scam the hotel out of money.
Sea Breeze, have never stayed there, have been told that it is guest friendly, along Dr. Alejo Martinez drive which is just down the street and around the corner from New Garden and Rocky's
Europa Hotel, have never stayed there, was told it is chica friendly, it is along Pedro Clisante drive which is the same street the strip is on but in the other direction of the strip, close to La Passions and CMP club.
This is just a brief list of hotels there are others to accommodate any size budget but you will want to make sure they are chica friendly before you book.
Chicas:
Sosua has a reputation for prostitution and girls come from all over the island of Hispaniola to work in Sosua. With the exception of La Passions and CMP club the girls are all freelancers, work for themselves. I've noticed a changing trend taking place from when I first started visiting Sosua. When I first started coming to Sosua it was very common to see mongers wife up (Keep the girl for a few days, have her bring all of her stuff over and stay with you in your room) or to TLN with a girl (have her spend the night with you). It was very common to see mongers at dinner with a girl or walking the street holding hands. That has become less and less common as the trend now seems to be on short time one hour sessions and less and less wifeing up or TLN. On my first few trips I always met a little sweetie within the first day or two that I would end up keeping for my entire trip, often many of the girls I would short time with would ask me if I wanted to do TLN with them or seemed reluctant to leave and wanted me to keep them. Now when I visit that becomes less and less common as I generally don't feel the same connection with the girls as before and just do short time one hour sessions with them. The standard price for short time one hour sessions is 1500 pesos (a little less than $40. USA) and 3000 pesos (a little less than $80 USA) for TLN (all night). The girls will ask for more initially and if they think you are a newbie, don't know the ropes, they will try to take you for as much as they can. However, if you stick to your guns and refuse to budge they will all accept the above prices. Some may not accept it right away and if they don't let them go there are ten more just like her who will accept it, and many who initially won't accept the above price by the end of the night or the next night will be happy to accept the above price. From my experience I would say about a third of the girls working in Sosua are Haitian and the rest are Dominican. I've noticed a cadre of hard core professionals that I see almost every time I visit who are always there but there is also a good number of new faces that seem to circulate through. Sosua is known in Hispaniola for international prostitution and girls will come from all over the island to work for a few days or weeks to make a little money and then go back home. Many girls are part time or semi pro, just come to work for a few days when they need the money.
The Strip:
The strip is about a city block long where all / most of the clubs are located, it is along Pedro Clisante beginning at Dr. Rosen Dr. Down one
Block to Camino Del Libre. During the day time it is quite slow with only a few girls available, at night the place becomes alive. There are bars on both sides of the street for one city block, they are all outdoor bars very, very similar to Kokomos or Phillies in AC only instead of being restaurants these are disco / bars and instead of mongers sitting along the side watching the girls walk by, the girls are all sitting along the side looking for customers or walking along the street out front looking for customers. Some of these clubs are more popular than others and draw a bigger crowd than others currently D'Latin is the hot spot where you will find the biggest crowd at night. The good thing about all of these bars being open and right next to each other is you can walk along the strip from one to the next walk through them and get a good ideal of all of the talent that is available before you make your choice, there is no cover charge to enter any of them. There was a disco called classicos which was up stairs above the clubs that had a cover charge and was one of the most popular spots to find chicas but has been closed for the past few months. Personally I prefer it better this way, the current situation as I said allows you to recon throughout the entire scene with no cover charge before you make your selection. When Classicos was the hot spot once you were there you could not see which chicas were at the other clubs you would have to leave if you wanted to check out the talent in the other clubs and you would have to pay a cover charge each time you returned.
If you continue to walk west on Pedro Clisante past Camino Del Libre away from Dr. Rosen Dr. You will see lots of restaurants shops and other stores however most of the action is on one block between Dr. Rosen Dr. And Camino Del Libre. You will find an occasional girl on the far end of the strip but most are either on their way to or coming from the main area of the strip.
If you continue to walk in this direction on Pedro Clisante you will find the Casino on your right hand side, it is the tallest building along the street with signs out front you can't miss it. You will also find a decent gym on the third floor of the Casino building. 200 pesos to work out, they also have weekly and monthly rates. I believe there hours are 7 or 8:am until 8 or 9. M Monday through Friday and 8:am until 1. M Saturdays closed on Sundays.
One block before you get to the Casino on your right hand side you will find a mini super market that is well stocked and decent prices.
The Beach will be one block before you get to the Casino on your left, you will notice the street because it has several small shack like shops with a great deal of artist selling their paintings. Just look to your left about one block before you get to the Casino for the street with all of the paintings for sell.
La Passions & CMP Club:
http://passions-sosua.com/Passions/Home.html
http://www.cmp-club.de/#home
These are the only in house establishments in Sosua all other chicas are freelancers. Prices are 2500 pesos for the hour in house, you can take these girls out for TLN but depending upon what time you take them out will determine the price you pay. There are some amazingly hot women working in both places and I have always had GREAT SERVICE from women at both of these places, I only had one lame session with a girl from Passions but when I threatened to leave and complain her attitude and service changed 180 degrees. The rooms at both places are very nice, clean and air-conditioned. At La Passions the girls will generally stand inside of one of two circular bars they have and you can sit at the bar and pick the one you want. They often dance on the bar and put on a show as well. At CMP Club the girls will all come and circle around you when you first walk in and sit down. I've never had the resistance to see what happens after that as I usually see a super hottie that I have to have from the line up and take a girl within the first five to ten minutes of being there. Both clubs are located along Pedro Clisante Dr. In the opposite direction of the strip. From Dr. Rosen Dr. You want to head east along Pedro Clisante Dr. In the opposite direction of the strip for about five or ten minutes, both clubs will be on your right, CMP will be first and then will be La Passions the two are close to each other but not right next to each other. You will also find a few freelancers along this walk as well. I can't begin to tell you how many times I started out for La Passions and CMP only to find a hot little freelancer along the way and take her instead.
The Beach:
You can find the beach along Pedro Clisante near the casino. If you are walking towards the Casino you will find the road to the beach to your left one block before you reach the casino, you will know it is the right street because you will see lots of small shack like shops selling art. Walk down this street until you come to the beach on your left. The beach will have lots and lots of venders selling souvenirs and restaurants in small shack like buildings, they can be quite pushy at times trying to get you to stop and look at their stuff or stop and eat in their restaurant. You will also find freelancers here during the day as well and this is a good daytime location to find a girl for boom boom. Prices here are the same as everywhere else 1500 pesos for the hour, DON'T PAY MORE. They will ask for more especially if they think you are a newbie and don't know anything, but don't pay it they will all accept 1500 and if they don't let her go there are ten more just like her who will.
Message Parlors and Hair Salons:
You will find many of these establishments especially along Dr. Rosen Dr. But also all along Pedreo Clisente from the Casino to La Passions and along Alejo Martinez Dr. One block north, these places are staffed mainly by Haitians and many if not all of these girls are available for boom boom. Many of the massage places will try to get you to come in for a massage; they will call out to you or come up and talk to you as you walk by. It is my understanding that the massage ends with an oral happy ending but I have never tried it. If I see a girl I like I tell her I want sex and for her to come back to my place. I have never been turned down by any that approached me and I wanted, price is still the same 1500 pesos for the hour.
Stores, Shops and other establishments:
You will find many small clothing stores pharmacies and other various types of stores that have some very attractive chicas working in them. Despite what I was told before I made my first trip to Sosua you can't just walk into or up to any chica you see and have her come back to your room for boom boom. There are some very attractive women in some of these establishments, the little Latin blond at Rocky's restaurant being one where the women will not be openly available. It is my belief that these women can be had but not by everyone and not openly like a freelance chica on the street. It will take some time, some Spanish, some charm and some patience to get these chicas. However, just because you get her does not mean it's a feebee. Don't kid yourself that you are so good looking and smooth that you sweet talked your way into her paints and between her legs, she may have found you attractive enough and interesting enough to session with where as she won't with just any monger, she will still expect some compensation in the end.
Availability of Chicas:
I have noticed the number of chicas available not being as plentiful as when I first started coming to Sosua. The weekends seem to attract more chicas than the week days and the nights have more chicas than the day time. However, the overall number of chicas either at the beach along the street or along the strip is not as great as when I first started coming to Sosua. That being said there are still plenty of chicas available, and any time I wanted sex either day or night and no matter what time of day or day of the week I could always find someone within ten to fifteen minutes that I thought was attractive enough and willing to have sex at the right price.
During the day time the strip is pretty slow but you will still find some chicas there, you will also find chicas at the beach and along Pedro Clisante walking to and from the beach. You can find chicas hanging out at the New Garden during the day, you can find chicas along Dr Rosen Dr. From Hwy 5 all the way down to Casa Cayena and along Dr. Alejo Martinez Dr, you will find chicas along Pedro Clisante from the strip going down to La Passions and CMP and both of these establishments open in the early afternoon. And of course the MP and hair dressers are open during the day. Sex will not be a problem to find during the day, it was just more plentiful in the past.
At night all the action is along the strip, all of the girls will assemble there at night and the place becomes wild and crazy in a good way. The strip runs until 3:am, La Passions and CMP Club are also open until 3:am. I'm not sure what's available after that, I've been told there are a few after hours clubs still open, but I've never been to them. By that time I've either found one for TLN and I'm in bed with her or I've fucked myself into exhaustion and I'm out.
Services:
Now as you have probably gathered from reading this the standard price for services in Sosua are 1500 pesos for the hour and 3000 pesos for TLN (all night). La Passions and CMP Club its 2500 pesos for the hour in house. All girls from whatever venue, the beach, the strip night or day, walking around during the day, the New Garden or Massage Parlors and hair dressers will go for 1500 pesos for one hour. They will all initially ask for more and try to get more from you if they think they can. But all will accept this price if you stick to your guns, and those that won't take a pass on them and let them go, they will come around later and accept your price.
I have ALWAYS gotten a BBBJ for this price and have NEVER had a condom blow job in Sosua and for that matter I have never had a Condom blow job anywhere in the Dominican Republic. In all the time I've been there I have only had one girl who would not let me DATY every other girl I've had in the Dominican Republic has been into it and enjoyed it.
I ALWAYS interview my girls first before I take them to make sure those services are available and I have NEVER paid extra for those services they are all standard services at the market price of 1500 pesos. I have for the most part always gotten good sex from the Dominican (and Haitian) girls I've taken and with very, very few exceptions have I had a lame experience in Sosua.
(If I hear that you are paying above the market price or paying extra for BBBJ and DATY I am going to tear up your passport and ban you from the country) LOL.
Seriously, there's no need for you to ever pay above the market price or pay extra for BBBJ and DATY, please do your part to keep this a monger paradise, I don't want Sosua turning into another damn Costa Rica.
One Last Thing, Always, Always, Always, Always, Always, pay afterwards, NEVER pay first. Let me repeat this NEVER PAY FIRST. Always pay her after the sex. If she insists show her you have the money but don't give it to her until after the sex. If she still insists let her go, if it looks like she is going to cause a scene give her 50 or 100 pesos for the Moto conch driver. But don't pay her first always pay afterward. However, if she performs as agreed upon YOU DO HAVE TO PAY HER the agreed upon price, not paying her means she can go to the police and you could have serious legal problems. Or what may be worse is she could go to some unsavory locals and you will have some serious physical problems. I have heard of the occasional sting in Sosua, I've never experienced it and don't personally know anyone there who has but I have heard about such things. If things look like they are going to get out of hand, ie police or ruff looking locals, it may be better to cut your losses and just give her the money and take it as a lesson learned. But I believe this would be an extremely rare incident and one that may be brought on by the bad or stupid behavior of the monger himself.
Money:
Everything works on Pesos in Sosua and you will have to exchange your money. Don't exchange it at the airport. You will find money exchanges everywhere in Sosua and they all give better rates than the airport. You will also find a variety of ATMs in Sosua. I personally like to exchange my money at Popular bank they always give me market rates. You have to go into the bank stand in line (which isn't that long) and present your passport; they also have some very attract bank tellers there. Popular bank is on Dr. Alejo Martinez Drive. If you are coming out of Rocky's or New Garden on Dr. Rosen Drive turn to your right walking away from the strip heading North up to the next corner which will be Dr. Alejo Martinez Drive there will be a little ice cream shop on the corner on your right. Take a left onto Dr. Alejo Martinez drive walk down for about one block and the bank will be on your right. There is also an ATM machine out front as well. I have used it before and it works fine but I believe you can only take out the equivalent of $200 USA In pesos. You will also find small money exchange shop all along Dr. Rosen Drive and all along Pedro Clisante Drive running from the Casino all the way down to passions, and along Dr. Alejo Martinez Drive. You will be able to recognize them because they will have signs out front with the flags of the various nations and the current exchange rate. I have used some of these on occasion when the bank was closed and have gotten better rates than the airport, often when I mention to them the rate I am getting at the bank they will agree to give the same exchange as the bank. You will also find a few banks along Pedro Clisante from Dr. Rosen Drive heading east towards La Passions that have outdoor ATMS. I've used a few of these before in the past and they have worked fine.
Vitamins:
You will find a variety of pharmacy's all along the above mentioned streets that I assume sell all the monger vitamins. (I have a great health plan at work that allows me to buy vitamin V for $4. A pill so I usually take my own with me) The only pharmacy I have used in Sosua to buy vitamin V is the one on Dr Rosen Drive just a few doors down from New Garden and on the same side of the street as New Garden. It's a small pharmacy that is between New Garden and the corner ice cream shop. Prices were the equivalent of $4. USA for generic vitamin V, I tried it before and it worked fine for me. There is also a drop dead hot little chica that works there as well.
Safety:
I have always felt safe in Sosua. The monger streets mentioned above and the area shown on the map is the monger zone and this section of Sosua is not really the real Sosua but an area for mongers to come and find working girls and for working girls and the locals to make money off of the mongers. It's similar to Fields avenue and Perimeter in Angels City which is not really the real AC but an area for mongers to find women and locals to make money off of them. The same is true for this district in Sosua. The area is pretty well protected and I always felt safe there. But at night I only stay along Pedro Clisante from the strip of bars all the way down to La Passions and along Dr. Rosen Drive going from the hotels to the strip. I've walked this little T area at all hours of the night 1, 2.3 O'clock in the morning by myself and never had a problem.
Language:
They speak Spanish in the Dominican Republic and very few girls will know English, they will all tell you they know a little English but the truth is most know very little. I have found to my surprise the Haitian girls for the most part seem to speak better English than the Dominican girls. I do not speak Spanish at all but have found the language is not a problem when picking up a chica. They all know what you
Are there for and most will know enough of the essential words for the two of you to come to a deal. Just remember.
Mil Quinientos para la hora.
(1500 for the hour)
Yo quiero chupar tu pussy.
(I want to suck / eat your pussy, they all understand pussy)
Me gusta chupar mi pinga sin condon.
(It's pleasing to me for you to suck my cock without a condom)
It's pronounced just like it's spelled, This is not the most romantic way to ask these things but it gets the point across and the girls knows what you want at what price before the two of you head back to the room.
If she starts asking for more or asking for tips after the session just do what I do, have a confused look on your face and pretend like you don't understand and say "lo siento mi amor yo no intiendo espanol' (I'm very sorry my love I don't understand Spanish)
Super Market:
You will find a major supermarket on Highway five that is comparable to any supermarket you will find in the USA it has a good selection of products at a decent price. If you leave Rocky's or New Garden hotel turn to your left and walk south on Dr. Rosen Drive walk past Pedro Clisante / the strip for one black and you will come to highway five the metro bus station as well as a gas station will be on your right. Turn to your right and walk west for about two blocks, to the first stop light you come to. On the other side of the street you will see the police station and right next to the police station will be the supermarket you cross at the stop light to get to the supermarket.
Hucksters:
The hucksters are not as bad in Sosua as they are at other monger destinations. There are however, Moto conch drivers on just about every corner; these are guys on little mini bikes who will ask you if you need a ride. I rarely use these guys as you can pretty much walk anywhere. Prices should be 50 pesos for a ride but these guys will try to get as much out of you as they can so make sure you have price arranged before you hope on the back. These guys will also try to sell you various products as well when you walk by. I've had them offer me Viagra as well as make thinly vialed references to other types of drugs. I've never bought any Viagra from these guys so I can't vouch for its authenticity. Some will occasionally make 'scar face' references and say 'Tony Montana' when you walk by, I believe this is an offer to sell other types of drugs. I don't do drugs so I usually ignore them when they say that or wave my hand no and pick up my pace. I will say on my last trip one of the Dominican girls got me high for the first time in my life and then had sex with me 'Oooooh My Fucking Gaaaaawd is Sex Grrrreattt When You Are High'. I would never do this just to do it. But in the future I would not be opposed to doing it before sex, it magnifies the pleasure and intensity of sex a thousand times.
Final Thoughts:
Sosua is still a great place to monger. But as some of you who follow my reports know I am crazy about Asian mongering and feel that Asia beats Latin America when it comes to mongering. However, from my experience, and this is just my opinion, I think Sosua is one of the best if not the best monger destinations in Latin America. It has certainly declined from what it was when I first started going but it is still probably the best monger spot you are going to find in the Americas (in my opinion).
I will be back in Sosua next week so I will give you guys an update when I return.
Now if you paid attention to this guide and if you have half a brain, within an hour or less of checking into your room you will be doing this:
