They are there to recommend and answer questions like what the price system is. They don't necessarily get a kick back payment from all girls. Depends on which girls have an agreement with the Cheerperson. I don't know if this system is prevalent at The Lord or not.

I always made my own choice of girl anyway, so not just taking one picked out by the Cheerperson. In the old days, would tip the Cheerperson 100 baht on the way out, if any good advise was given to help find a good performer. If girl was lousy, then definitely no tip. The Cheerperson should have warned about restrictions, etc. If Cheerperson recommends a girl, I have to take that with a very big grain of salt, in case that comes with a kick-back.

I don't know what the Cheer Person makes as a salary for working there. They may indeed rely on tips for good advice from their regular customers. Mamasan or Papasan is not a term I prefer either. In bars I hate mamasans to be asking me if I will BF the girl. The less contact with a mamasan, the better. Only really useful when customer cannot communicate with the girl directly. I certainly never wish to negotiate a price with a mamasan present.

I overtipped and tipped too many people. I typically don't like to overdo anything, so I will chalk it up to tuition and do better next time.

Malio Club is one of my two favorite bordellos in Jakarta, but I have never noticed any Viets in Malio? Maybe you are referring to Malioboro Lounge (same building). On a further note I would add that in my other favorite bordello in Jakarta, the Alexis Hotel, sexy hot little Indo girls there are 1,400,000 rp ($102), so not cheap by any standards, but they are super sexy and really aim to please, so totally worth it in my humble opinion and perhaps a better deal than the one currently on offer in BKK Go Go's except that BKK Go Go girls are take out girls while Malio/Alexis/Kings Cross/Classic/Travel girls are in house until you get to know them better. I think that is a big plus for BKK. But if you want to shop around for Viet girls, Alexis is the place to go in Jakarta. The Alexis import Viets are hot! So naturally their price is sky high. Are you sitting down? Alexis Hotel Viet imports are 2,400,000 rp ($175).

Fortunately for my checking account I prefer the younger Indo girls, but I have given in a few times and gone Vietnamese in Alexis. Comparatively speaking, many Alexis Viets look better than many Lord girls, but not all for sure and you will encounter a lot of bolt-ons in both groups (not so with the Indo girls). As for service: The Alexis Viets offer excellent service similar to but not quite as dirty as most of my Lord girls at 6000 baht ($181). So they are both very competiviely priced against one another. BKK remains more the party town with easy accessabilty to most red light places of interest. Jakarta is more spread out and less out in the open. Thus I like to play in Jakarta for limited amounts of time, but I prefer BKK over all. On girl quality alone, I like Thai, Indo and Filipinas almost equally although they look and act very different.
