Chris Longs guide to mongering in Sosua.
Final Thoughts:
Sosua is still a great place to monger. But as some of you who follow my reports know I am crazy about Asian mongering and feel that Asia beats Latin America when it comes to mongering. However, from my experience, and this is just my opinion, I think Sosua is one of the best if not the best monger destinations in Latin America. It has certainly declined from what it was when I first started going but it is still probably the best monger spot you are going to find in the Americas (in my opinion).
I will be back in Sosua next week so I will give you guys an update when I return.
Now if you paid attention to this guide and if you have half a brain, within an hour or less of checking into your room you will be doing this:

Love & Peace.
Chris
Maybe you could add a section about the use of condoms with street rats, and the possible consequences of not using them. Might be interesting to hear your views on that.
Very good summary of what to do in Sosua.

This was not GFE, this looked more like WE (wife experience).
How many trips have you made to Sosua? Tomjackin Savepro, Mr Enternational, Mr Gogo, Frannie, Charles Pooter, Manizales911, Coolie high, I can list person after person, that's made several on top of several trips to Sosua. Not one of them have ever written a dictionary on Sosua like you have. Don't get me wrong very useful insights, but. How about just giving bullet point presentations. We really don't need an encyclopaedia on every point or subject in Sosua. I think bullet points will cut to the. Chase. Faster and keep new and old mongers attention, rather than this dictionary of delight in Sosua. (YMMV) (Your mongering may very) peace!
I have done sosua 1 time. His extensive, step by step report, is for the first time visitor. Its sosua for dummies, which is what you are your first trip, especially solo. After your first visit, you realize how easy it is to navigate the town.
All mongering destinations should have similar reports on file for us newbies. Keeps the blood pressure down.

Excellent excellent articale by Mr. Long! Thanks. 'The mark': Re; me carrying the $1, 000 USD. I'm not showy, but, well how else will I get the rent (they want cash only) and expense (s) money back to my apt? Take smaller amounts over time? Walk in groups. Carry a sword. Walk with a "me bad" swager maybe. Re; Getting the girls into Infinit-blu. Thanks on that. Some good strategies. Minus the car, will they work? Car would be great too, but for many reasons I'll not bother with one. Pot legalization in the DR? It's coming. Just introduced by the Republicans in Santa Domingo. How about for now though? Would love to hear more about safety / strategies in the barrios. I'm hearing mixed reviews. Hey. Are the girls pretty in Sosua? I reviewed CMP and Passions, some you-tube. I see good bodies but very few pretty faces if any.
Thanks again,
Gary

I was wondering How many trips have Chris Long made? I guess I shouldve asked him. LOL! I hope this is not misconstrued, but I was just making the point, that Chris Long can shorten his presentation, and don't need to rewrite the "Connstitution of Sosua" but let me be the first to state:"Chris Longs guide to Tijuanna" was spot on. It wasn't quite as long, but very informative. Maybe a brief paragraph or two would be, just as effecve. In June its going to be my perfect "10th" trips made. I still love to RTFF, to refresh my mongering mind tricks. (YMMV) your mongering may very). Peace The Chocolate Jackhammer.

I thought Chris Long's post was full of information clearly expressed, and not just rambling on to no purpose like some posts I have seen, which you have not seen fit to apply your editorial wisdom to.

And I'm not talking about some chica stealing your cellphone. I'm talking about being on the street and someone telling you to give it up. Nobody knows what people are walking around with in their pockets until they show it. It could be $10 or it could be $10000. Like you said, get your money and take it home. No reason to be flashing it.

There is less chance of that happening if you draw your money inside the bank, which I guess you would have to do for a large sum.
But I agree, El Batey in the daytime is not particularly dangerous if you go straight home and don't draw attention to yourself.

Gary
You could get anyone of several Pacsafe products but I prefer this one for carry my money at night, passport copy a couple condoms and a couple Viagra. I don't ever carry much in my front pockets and if I have 1000 pesos in my jeans pockets it is in the front one in the smaller pocket stuffed in deep. I used to think most Dominicans were gay till I realized they were staring at my front pants pockets to see what is in there. It goes without saying but you could stuff your money in your pouch before leaving the bank, the one I have is slashproof. I wear it all the time at night and by day most of the time.
Photos show it on outside of clothing but you use it inside your pants.
Hillbilly69, I get the concept of concealing your valuables on your person. That is a good idea overall. I know I'm missing something, but what is the advantage of this pouch over any other concealed pouch? If a person was getting robbed, and the thief made someone disrobe then discovered a hidden pouch, the thief would just take it and find a way to get into it later.
