It worked very well, I haven't had problems since.

The anesthesiologist who treated me has a pain management practice, but all he does now is epidurals and the like, because he doesn't want to run the risk of getting put in jail or sued for everything he's got. That's what a mutual friend tells me anyway.

Some people in the last stage of their life suffer greatly because hospice and care givers are afraid of dispensing too much pain medication. That happened to my father.

Most people in your situation can't afford or don't have access to epidurals from a world class pain surgeon every 90 days. You apparently have a chronic problem, and you have many years left before you hit 120. If you get started on pain medication you might never get off. I suspect many people seeking pain management don't fit that category. They had accidents and will recover or are terminal. Presumably a skilled pain management physician can help with pills.

I do honestly hope your situation with the pain and sleeplessness improves.

In Ruan v. The USA, the Supreme Court got sick of the DEA and their unconstitutional bullshit. Look, you DEA assholes have to prove someone guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. You cannot convict based upon the standard of what a reasonable person / doctor would do. Think about that when you are cheering on with the DEA: complete destruction of your civil rights, and you are a law breaking monger!

And I forgot the CDC got their hands in on this mess and this was preCovid. They issued guidelines in 2016, and it became law in 43 states. What might surprise you Tiny is from an overdose perspective Tylenol is more dangerous than Xanax so why does the DEA have such a hard on for Xanax type drugs? Because they are bought and sold on the street and the DEA wants the money from that. That is why they are "dangerous".

People can die from side effects of Xanax type drugs. If you take a Xanax and pass out and drive off a cliff, that would be a death related to Xanax. Thing is Xanax type drugs are great for muscle spasms. They kind of weaken and loosen muscles. That is great when you throw your back out but is not good when you are sleeping and your tongue can get in the way of your airway. And that is why you need a mouth piece versus see-pap.

Thing is Lyrica, which MDS is on, and Xanax type drugs work on the same receptor and have the same effect on the tongue.

Given their histories, MDS and SC have / had two totally different kinds of pain. MDS has neuropathic pain and SC had somatic pain. Opioids do nothing for neuropathic pain but work great for somatic pain. But even though they had totally different responses to the pain, neither said, "Hey, maybe my pain is different than yours. ".

But to have standardized dosing guidelines, all pain has to be the same which is fucking crazy. Despite totally different experiences, both had the same attitude on opioids and the doctors who prescribe them: bad pills, bad doctors and the sad part is these guys are probably in the top 10 percent when it comes to government cynicism.
