Sosua Reports

I never have been disrobed but fought off robbers on 3 different occasions, La Vega and Barranqilla Carnivals, another time off Ave Sexta in Cali, the Cali and LaVega incident I could have prevented with my Pacsafe the Barraquilla as well I guess they made a move for my pocket with my camera after throwing powder in my face, caught the guy but what good does that do? Called him a thieving mother fucker and continued walking. This will work in daylight or at night in public places, like all the Pacsafe products they are better than nothing at all.

Anyone that keeps large amounts of money in their front pockets in a place like Sosua or anywhere else needs to get their head examined, you don't have to look far back in trip reports to see guys pick pocketed after being groped, look on the Boca Chica report section. Cargo shorts which are the norm in Sosua don't work too good for any type of security, cameras, money fall out all the time from them.

Anyone currently in the area to report on the rainfall? I never been in May. I have also been lucky to have great weather in previous trips. A spot sprinkle here and there is nothing.

Some badly needed rain for the crops and to lay the dust sometimes falls at night.

Unfortunately, there are clowns that walk around Sosua flashing money. One guy I know used to walk around with $1, 500 US and pop bottles in D'Latin. Another guy told me he has been robbed in the DR 3 times; the most recent being when he was making it rain at Winner's Circle.

I have had good fortune wearing cargo shorts that either zip or snap the upper flap. You are right nothing 100% secure. I usually take a cheap ass $2. 00 throw away wallet, with maybe 2, 000 pesos a photo copy of my passport, and some fake dummy Safeway grocery store, food cards (they look like credit cards? We can't be too safe or to arrogant thinking we are "untouchable" but I must admit a bit@h The other day told me to make it "rain". On her so living in the "rainy" northwest "I put that bit@h Outside in the weather! Lmao!

Has anybody seen Patricia the crazy girl with all the tattoos? I haven't seen or heard frim her since 2011 any word on her. I assume she went back to Santiago.

I have only been pickpocketed once and it was at the Superbowl in New Orleans. I was walking down Bourbon St. With a drink in one hand and my other hand in my front pocket where I had the tickets to the game. The thief hit my drink causing it to spill all over me and my natural reaction was to pull my hand out of my pocket, in the blink of an eye he had $6K worth of tickets and that brother was running through the crowd like his saggy assed pants were on fire.

This happened to me before I started traveling abroad for mongering, now I know better than to be so vulnerable. Pacsafe is the way to go, I own several of their products.

She was part of a three person (two girls and a guy) pickpocket crew. They worked a side alley leading to the beach and bars. They would plant a sign along the walkway that said" Beware of pick pockets". They would casually watch the single tourists waiting for the mark. They would look for a guy who would see the sign and pat himself to do a wallet check. This was their signal to where the wallet was. Then their plan was in motion. They would follow him to the bar and wait for him to go to the restroom. The girl would be acting intoxicated with the other guy assisting her. She would stumble to the mark and fall into him. Depending on the hustlers position, one would help the mark brace his fall while the other one would get the wallet. She said the key would be putting so many hands on the mark to brace him that he wouldn't be directed at his wallet being removed. Then the third person would casually be passed the wallet. After apologizing for his drunk girlfriend the hustlers would move on casually.

I always follow the "shoulder rule" with new girls. Keep their hands above the shoulder at all times. We fall sometime for the girls that like to play below, but you are easily set up when this happens.

Not that I am on a mission to change the world but I find it odd that people often speak of women and drinking in the same breath. Now while a drink or two helps me get into the mood, getting drunk is a deal-killer. Quite the opposite effect of viagra. Besides, I can always get drunk back home if I needed to but where would I find the throng of women around. In and outside of Sosua?

Damn. Went home and got. Fat. She was always the best looking one to me. Minus all her crying and shit, I cared for her. I noticed that once the girls see a girl making too much money they outcast her and spread rumors about her. Patricia fell into that trap.
