It is very rare for the Taxi driver who wants to take a short distance on Suk. From Nana to soi Cowboy on the meter.
This should be: "It is very rare for the [mafia] Taxi driver who [is parked ouside of Nana or Soi Cowboy or Patpong]". All other taxi drivers (i.e. the ones moving past) have no problem turning on the meter.

Majestic suites
Gents;
I have received many PM. Regarding my report on MS. And wondering If I were a part of owner or any related interest with the MS. And How is the world this hotel popular?
Here You Go:
Firstable, I Am Not a part owner Nor having any business tie with the MS. I understand that the MS. And the Majestic Grande have the same owner. However, I stay at the Majestic suites on every trip in BKK.
The MS. Is surely my favourite hotel and I Don't plan to change in the future. So, What are the reasons, I stay at the MS here.?
MS. Location is just unbeatable at the corner of soi4 Sukhumvit for a small walk to NEP at night. The Nana BTS station is only 2 min. Walk. And 1 station away Asoke for soi Cowboy. There are several MP. Close to Majestic suites like Annie's, Aviva, Eden. The bars and restaurants are many at this lower soi.
Also, the MS. Rate is reasonable and totally GF.
The last 2 years I changed. After the Dynasty Group finished their new hotels inside soi 4 I always stay there.
Dynasty Grande is very nice with very big rooms and wonderful bathrooms.
Dawin in is just as great, but smaller rooms. Both these hotels have swimming pools and are brand new, so I think its a better deal.
I still think that Majestic suites is a great choice, but I found something better.
The rooms in Majestic are very small, and they have no pool in the hotel.
The walk from the Dynasty hotels are just about 3 minutes to Nana Plaza.
Important to not book the Dynasty Inn, because thats old and dirty.
But the new hotels a little down the soi are just great.

Majestic suites
Gents;
Actually, I checked the price on Dynasty Grande down on soi4 and that was much more than MS. Single superior room. Definitely, the Dynasty group new hotels a little far
Walking to NEP and Nana BTS. And Are much newer than MS. I just like the MS. For the convienence and the room
Is Big enough for me with a GF at night in the queen size bed. What is more than knowing the whole staff and the
Cleaning crew after 5 trips to this hotel?

IBIS Sathorn
Hi Guys,
My first time in Bangkok in a few weeks time and only staying for 1 night due to travelling on to UK.
I have a room booked at the IBIS Sathorn and after much research on ISG I have booked an escort called Vicky for a 3 hour session.
Just wondering if anyone knows if there will be any dramas with the hotel and girls visiting, and if it's pretty straight forward for the girl to get to the room.
Cheers

Book a room for two. Same price. So they will have nothing to say.

Had a good stay here

Has a pool and gym.
I recently stayed at the Admiral Suites from 8/20/09 to 10/20/09 and had a great stay. My rate was 1260 baht/night all inclusive, but I did not get the breakfast. I was a walk in but had checked the AS website beforehand and when the front desk initially quoted us a higher rate than the website, I went behind the front desk and showed them the 1260 rate. No problem at all, 1260 it is. Then my friend asked them if they would upgrade our rooms as we were staying for two months, they checked with the GM, and once again, no problem.
The rooms are pretty much as MP describes above, they also had a DVD player in the room and they also have laundry facilities next to the gym. The maids will do your laundry for you if you like, ironing included, I would give them 100 baht and they were more than happy. One thing I didn't like, and it is not really a big deal for me, is that there are not a lot of English speaking channels available on the TV.
The service was excellent and they have no joiner fee. As a matter of fact the night security guy would give me a surreptitious thumbs up if I came home with a real beauty.
The location is good, Queens Park Plaza a few minutes walk away and Cowboy is fairly near. There are also many other bars and massage places along the soi as well.
Overall a good stay and I would go back there again.

Silq Hotel
Hi guys,
Any stay here recently and can provide a review? Do they charge joiner fee?
Clean rooms? Breakfast provided? Easy to book thru their website?
Pros and Cons of staying here?
Thanks

Merisess Hotel Suk 16
Has anyone stayed at this hotel? The website shows some fantastic suites and at a very reasonable price too. And they specify that they do not charge any joiner fees !

I stayed at Silq a couple of months ago.
I quite liked it, but not convinced it is best value for money in the area. Rooms are a little bit small for the money. Otherwise good. I didn't try the basic room as was booked out. Breakfast room is very small but not a big problem for a small hotel. No pool. Its hard to remember everything now (I remember the girl more so).
Stayed in Fx Asoke recently because got a good deal on Wotif. But price has gone up now.
These rooms are classy but a little cluttered with so many things provided included in the price.
Haven't found the perfect Hotel yet!

I'm here at the SilQ as I type this. IMHO, it's good value if booked on Agoda at around $48/nt plus $8 tax - excluding breakfast. Less so if booked on their site directly, as there, you will end up paying around $67 all in including breakfast.
The walk to Sukhumvit/Asoke BTS is probably around 150-200 meters. It's about 60 meters past the Key and the Grottino on the same Soi.
The rooms are beautifully appointed, but also pretty small - but not quite as small as those of the Majestic Suites. It has an in-room safe, and a free internet PC in the lobby, which I am on right now. No joiner fee. Has a fridge, but no mini-bar - a combo that I definitely like.
One MAJOR plus, is the quality of the beds and bedding - comparable to a Westin Heavenly bed, and quite unusual for a hotel in this class and price.
My only gripes are that I wish it were slightly closer to Sukhumvit, and I wish it had a pool and exercise room. Overall, good to very good, but not perfect.

A very fair report and I agree with everything said.
The price seems to be better than when I stayed there.
The bed was particularly nice in a city where many beds are a bit hard. Grand Millenium is another exception where I was sleeping on a cloud! very superior beds.
Silq is about 300m from Sukhumwit which doesn't bother me greatly as the weather is really good right now.
Admiral Premier is a good one to compare as has superior facilities and a bigger room. AP has some drawbacks though. The ones I noticed were:
* bed a bit hard (not as good as Silq)
* ISG web site blocked.
* No pastries at breakfast (only croissants) and limited variety of fruit.
Good value for money.
Tried Fx Asoke just now (as AP was booked out on certain days), which is classier than both AP and Silq but more expensive and have to put up with more cluttered room, small fridge no freezer, no plates, bowls etc., bed about same as AP (a bit too firm). Has a superior bathroom.
I might try Darjelling soon as it is very cheap.

Higher End Hotels
As I will be in Bangkok for only a couple of days and nights in late Feb with a couple of friends we would prefer 4 or 5 star accomodations.
GF would be nice but not really important as I can usually get fun outside.
Majestic is nice but I would prefer a higher class! Any recommendations?

If it's inside your budget, you can't do better than the JW Marriott. They will treat each and every girl you bring back as though she is your wife for the time she is there with you.
For slightly less cash, the Majestic Grande will suffice. And for less again, the Dynasty Grande really has all that you need - spacious rooms, a good pool and exercise room, and an in-house restaurant.

I believe that people around here will happily recommend the Sheraton, Conrad, Westin, Plaza Athenee, Hyatt, Grand Millennium and many others. I believe they will all be GF regardless.
