Do you think that Restaurant Industry Publication is lying?
I would love to kjnow where you eat. In the last year a 14" pizza has gone from 22 to 28 bucks. 30+ dollar menu items are becoming the norm, not the few. Chinese food is the only thing I see holding on. When you got a combo it was like 9. 95. Now its 12.95. Not too bad of an increase. Go to your favorite steakhouse and the cuts that were 20-22 bucks are no over 35-40. So glad your eating out for less but it aint happening in my world!
You should contact that Restaurant Industry Newsletter publisher and staff and ask them if or why they would lie about the statistics and graphs they show for the Total Average Price of restaurant menu items, the Average Food Price, etc.
Also for the follow up link I provided from The Tax Foundation that recapped the food price inflation that began when Trump initiated his failed Trade War and Tariffs starting in 2018, long before the past year.

What is your stock and retirement package invested in?
A lot of information here in this post. But, I have to say this; my stock and retirement package grew 212% after Trump was elected and held on. It fell 78% when the Dems took office. Like him or not he is good for business. In 20 something years from now the COVD bills will be handed down to people to pay the bills racked up from the Dems just handing out more money. So we need this guy to help bolster savings because at that point I willbe too old to work and hope that my 401 lasts.
If your stock and retirement package portfolio "fell 78% when the Dems took office" it sounds like you stayed too long at the fair in a volatile, rather risky package that was clearly not diversified enough to justify holding very long at all.
(Rounding to a reasonable whole number and percentage and ignoring dividends) The USA Stock Market as measured by the go-to Wall Street standard S&P 500 Index closed at 2263 on January 20,2017, the day Donald Trump took office.
It closed at 3798 on January 20,2021, the day Joe Biden took office.
That would be a 68% gain after the entire 4 Trump years.
Yesterday, and with 3 months left in Biden's term, it closed at 5854.
That is a 54% gain. No idea where it will close today or what it will do in the next 3 months. But it is not unrealistic to suggest it very easily could match or exceed the gain in the Trump years.
Regardless, I feel pretty comfortable that there won't be a "78% decline" from the day Biden took office to the day Harris gets sworn in.
Now, you referred to two different timeframes; one was "since the Dems took office", which means from inauguration to inauguration, which is what the above calculations reflect.
But your other time frame was "since Trump was elected. " So let's look at what happened from election day 2016 to election day 2020 and then right up to today, 2 weeks before the next election day:
The S&P 500 Index closed at 2163 on November 9, 2016, the day Trump was elected.
It closed at 3369 on November 2, 2020, the day Biden was elected.
That would be a 56% gain "under" Trump.
Yesterday, two weeks before the next election day, the S&P 500 Index closed at 5864.
That is a 74% gain "under" Biden. So far. Quite a bit better than Trump's 56%, wouldn't you say? I would.
It would appear you really should have shifted all of your equity holdings out of whatever hot money, high risk equities you were in under Trump and into a no-brainer, broadly diversified, low cost S&P 500 Index Fund or a Total Stock Market Index Fund the day Joe Biden was elected.
I mean, damn, that would have been a 152% swing into positive gains in a portfolio you barely needed to even think about over the past 4 years under Biden.
And, BTW, haven't you been following along about how Trump added DOUBLE the amount to the deficit as Biden both before Trump's Pandemic and in response to Trump's Pandemic?
By the numbers:
Trump added $8.4 trillion in borrowing over a ten-year window, CRFB finds in a report out this morning.
Biden's figure clocks in at $4.3 trillion with seven months remaining in his term.
If you exclude COVID relief spending from the tally, the numbers are $4.8 trillion for Trump and $2.2 trillion for Biden.
Guess who's coming to dinner?
I just voted today! And guess what? Everybody in line had to show a valid Florida driver's license or some other form of legal identification and then sign in before being given a ballot. Left wing fascists say that is racist. Interestingly the fascists leftists are not hiding their intentions anymore with their last ditch efforts to remain in power. Fascists hate the idea of giving up power.
No, Donald Trump is the worst candidate for President I've ever seen! And facism is something that's properly associated with the right, not the left. So, it would be more fitting for Trump to be the third addition to that dinner table. To be clear, you're the one who just brought up facism. I'm just setting the facts and the record straight.
BOOK IT! Harris for a better US Economy...

Any good fortune you may have had, is most likely the continuation of great economic policies and a surge of continued growth from president Obama, his predecessor's GREAT economic run. Growth in GDP, only grew 0.1%, by the time the convict Trump, left office.
As the "sanctimonious" (in some Repub Libertarian cycles,) President Obama said, "That was my economy!..."
So you telling me, you've done great under the worst president in history vs. me telling you, my portfolio, has done better under the 10th & 14th best presidents in U.S. History, in Obama and Biden (respectively), while our tales of good fortune under different presidents, may make for good bulletin board material, they are pretty much a moot conversational subjective points of arguments on the collective, larger economy as a whole.
Meaning, our own single individual investment successes or failures are not, "bellwether indicators" for an entire U.S. Nation of some 346 million people and doesn't mean much or amount to a "hill-a-beans" and is NOT necessarily an indictment, on the strength or weakness of the boarder markets, GDP, businesses, or the US economy is a whole.
It's JUST FOOLISH, to make such claims!
For me (and what many business pundits, like Goldman Sachs and Fortune are saying is that), Veep Harris, is simply just the better, sane and coherent candidate, for US presidency and for the economy.
You can BOOK IT!...Harris for a President, that governs for EVERYONE! (Not just the billionaires!)
You can BOOK IT!...Harris for an economy for EVERYONE! (and NOT just Trump's bank account)
Well as they say here in Chicago vote early and vote often

I rather be a misogynist than a quintessential cuck, (ala Doug Emhoff) et al.
Love higher costs with less investment and retirement income? Don't vote for Harris.
To recap:
The USA Stock Market as measured by the go-to Wall Street standard gained much more since Biden-Harris were elected (with 3 months left to gain even more!) than it gained from when Trump-Pence were elected through to the following election.
Your food costs and restaurant menu prices increased dramatically, almost DOUBLE, from 2018 to 2021 under Trump due to his failed Trade War and Tariffs, continued to increase very, very, very little more through 2021 and have been declining ever since under Biden.
Trump's typically Repub disastrous economic and national security decisions ushered in and exacerbated Trump's Pandemic with all the deaths, massive job losses in the millions upon millions, global supply-chain collapse, hyper-inflation, unavoidable recovery inflation, opportunistic corporate price gouging, skyrocketing costs, business and school closures that followed. And with zero evidence that his ridiculously silly, childish view and response to every serious matter isn't poised to repeat any and every potential "Once in 100 Years" Disaster that comes along as only happened under Repubs over the past 100 years and not under Dems.
Trump deficit spent more than DOUBLE that of Biden both before ushering in and exacerbating Trump's Pandemic (where his one and only economic "stimulus" legislation added $2. 5+ Trillion to the deficit but did not add 1 net gain job in those 3 pre Trump's Pandemic years with it than in the previous Obama-Biden years without it) and in the emergency relief deficit spending in response to Trump's Pandemic where Biden's spending at least helped to create some of the historic job and wage gains produced throughout the Biden-Harris presidency vs the historc job losses throughout the Trump-Pence so-called presidency.
Trump's Tariff plan for a hypothetical 2nd Trump term will skyrocket inflation and costs for virtually everything you, your family and your friends buy.
Trump's economic results were one of if not THE Worst in USA History while Bidenomics has shattered all important positive economic results records and is universally recognized as The Envy of the World.
And now we know Trump's plan for a hypothetical 2nd Trump term will also reduce your earned and deserved Social Security income "the likes of which nobody has ever seen":
Trump plan would speed up Social Security insolvency, budget group says
Donald Trumps tax-cut plans and other agenda items would hasten Social Securitys insolvency, a nonpartisan budget group said.
The Republican nominees proposals would also expand Social Securitys cash shortfall by trillions of dollars and lead to even steeper benefit cuts in the coming years, the group estimated.
Both Trump and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris have vowed to protect Social Security and Medicare.
Of course, never forget Trump and his Repubs' determination to fully and completely outlaw Sex For Pleasure across the country.
It has now been totally and irrefutably substantiated by all available verifiable evidence and data that any vote other than for Kamala Harris and Dems all down the ballot will ensure that you will indeed facilitate every nightmare scenario recapped above.
Choose wisely.
The Dark Side of the Moon
No, Donald Trump is the worst candidate for President I've ever seen!
I get that you hate Trump and think he is terrible. My observation was that Kamala is the worst political candidate I have seen in my life is not a political / philosophical comment. It is merely an observation that the woman sucks on the campaign trail and can't sem to answer a single question without a teleprompter. Do you think Obama would have had a hard time being interviewed by Bret Baier? Of course not. Obama whether you liked him or disliked him was a skillful and adroit politician. Kamala is not! She is worse than Hubert Humphrey, Michael Dukakis, or Gerald Ford. Come on man, admit it. KKK /555.
Facism is something that's properly associated with the right, not the left. So, it would be more fitting for Trump to be the third addition to that dinner table. To be clear, you're the one who just brought up facism. I'm just setting the facts and the record straight.
There are many forms of fascism. Hitler's fascism was formally called National Socialism and yeah, he came at it from the far right. Chairman Mao's form of fascism was called communism and Mao came at it from the far left. Truth be told, the Mao's Cultural Revolution is closely aligned with today's Woke philosophy. It is sad that you and many well-meaning Americans do not see the historical / philosophical connection. Try to think of political ideology as a 360 degree physical object in space like the moon. The far left and the far right meet on the dark side of the moon. Remember it is the Left in America that wants an open border and allow illegal aliens to vote in elections. It is the Left that wants to stack the Supreme Court with leftwing ideologues. It is the Left that wants to grant statehood to DC and Puerto Rico to gain 4 Senate seats and a permanent majority. It is the Left that want to get rid of the Filibuster in the senate and pass all legislation with a simple majority. It is the Left that wants to indoctrinate are children in public schools and wants to sexually mutilate their bodies. It is the Left that wants to deny parents their right to raise their children. It is the Left that is against free speech and punishes people who disagree with it's doctrines. It is the left that has taken over Journalism and made it a tool of the party. It is the left that wants to confiscate private property. It was the Left that impeached President Trump twice for nothing IE for political reasons. It is the Left that has unleashed the Justice system on an ex-President and the Number 1 opposition political candidate that they disagree with ie "Lawfare". I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that it is the Left that hates America and wants to fundamentally change it and turn America into a one party dictatorship and it has a blueprint, Mao's Cultural Revolution adapted for American audiences to accomplish the goal. So yeah, Wokeism is fundamentally Fascist or if you prefer fundamentally totalitarian and there is little difference between the far left and the far right except that the Communists (Wokes) are better organized than the far right.
Now Trump may not be your cup of tea, and many people detest his personality, but he is not totalitarian. Can you at least admit this?
