I was supposed to arrive Christmas day but my flight leaving Christmas Evening was canceled. It is now scheduled for arrival on the 27th. So, with no plans I had some time to research. I usually don't tip. If you read reviews, they never mention tipping either. I have never seen locals tip when I went to local restaurants. Their setup is also not helpful for tipping. I've emailed the apartment to see if I can pay extra to check in early but someone else is staying there the night before so I can't. I don't want to be walking around Sao Paulo with my money, passport etc so not sure what to do in the meantime, anyone got any ideas.

I've thought about either hanging around the airport, getting food and trying to find somewhere to sleep or booking a room or sleep capsule inside or near the airport for a few hours.

What would you lot suggest?

Mistakes will happen but what's important is that you will get to learn from them. A couple of suggestions on how to navigate the SP clinicas:

1) Some of the girls only work part-time and only work a couple days out of the week. So it's important to have the clinicas add your WhatsApp number so you can receive their daily girl status.

2) The most well reviewed and popular girl (s) in the clinicas are naturally going to be the busiest. One way to work around that is to message or call the clinica and book an appointment ahead of time.

Clinicas are a wonderful SP afternoon venue and place to meet fun girls and fool around. The clinicas provide the best bang for your buck opportunities in Sao Paulo. So, definitely try a few Moema clinicas in the afternoon.

I also agree with #2. Brazil is not a tipping culture unlike say Thailand. Brazilian girls do not expect a tip, so my advice is don't rock the boat. Do not tip the girls.

But I disagree with #3. The whole Raison-d'etre of Scandallo is to experience (see, roam around & choose from) the large, remarkable display of quality girls of all shapes and sizes that hang out there. Therefore, I strongly recommend a 1st time punter to wait until 9 pm or 10 pm and then check out the numero uno bordello / nightclub in all of South America. You won't be sorry. In addition, not all Scandallo nights are equal. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights are the hottest, best nights to be there.

P.S. In the same vein, I highly recommend 11:30 pm as the absolute earliest to show up at Casarao. This amazing boate, which kind of acts as the counter opposite of high class Scandallo, opens at 10 pm, but the place does not get rocking until 11:30 pm at the earliest with after midnight being an even better time to go and not miss the experience of its wall-to-wall SP girls.
