You are so right Boca Chica sucks big time. It is close to SD which makes it easy to get to.

I was actually in Sosua today and I find Sosua pleasant enough in the day time.

I had a good time in Puerto Plata in 2003, before I ever knew about Sosua. The Sosua I enjoyed back in 2004-2007 was the best for me. Sosua has changed and I've adopted when I'm there. Whatever the future holds, I'll adapt again.

For instance, Cabarete is world renown for windsurfing. There is golf, seaworld, waterfalls, monkey jungle and ziplining, etc. As someone mentioned, cruise ships will be pulling into POP soon, which might bring additional attractions.

The British Empire faded for decades before it ceased to be the reserve currency for the World. My educated guess is this will be the case for the USA also. The fact is we are (by far) the best house in a bad neighborhood. There really is no feasible candidate to take our place as reserve currency anytime soon. Europe is a disaster. And China is also (though they certainly wouldn't admit it).

I probably agree with you that the USA is on the wrong track in many regards, but I think it will be a long time before the shit hits the fan.

HAve you booked a hotel yet? Because if you haven't I would suggest to stay at a place with onsite girls for your first trip seeing as you don't know any spanish. I offered to help you out but without being a paid member here you are out of luck.
