My initial query was prompted by them not having the requisite skill set to self help. She really confrmed that. I am not trying to insult them but they are adult children, no education, no knowledge of dealing with the system.

I suggested raiding the ATM card but the problem there I see is they would leave traces and end up being charged over it. It is really like adopting a child, often an indolent one. I am not talking about the bar girls but those in small jobs, who barely survive and, in this case, hook up with an ex Yankee soldier. Easy on the head if you are not intense but they are slow lane people with narrow life horizons. Not complaining, just saying that is how it is.
My lady friend has dreams of marrying me, wheeling me around in a chair in years to come, putting up with bs about marrying an old man, doing whatever on the side as part of her deal with me. I don't think I could hack the mosquitoes, the broken roads, the ghetto like noise, the losers, the heat, the bs in death.
These women probably thought it was an ok deal, take care of him, maybe fuck around a little, everyone happy. But everyone not happy now.
These women are nice, the salt of the earth, But salt is only a seasoning and a preservative. I like their simplicity but only as a voyeur, not as a participant in their hum drum lives.
Some years ago, I gave a 30 ish waitress an ok tip in a small eatery. She was an ex hooker, who had been living with a Yank and his big screen TV, which she promptly sold when he passed. She got the waitressing job but was no good and brought her daughrter in for free feeds. She saw me literally as a free meal ticket, which I am not.
Some guys can fit into that life. I met an English guy, who runs a little cafe wearing little more than shorts (bare top for his scrawny chest). He says moving to Phils was the best move he ever made. I couldn't take the chaos without order or a purpose

I have seen a lot messes left behind. I have seen a lot of people who couldn't handle the simple probate. I have seem worms coming out of the woodworks when someone died. Can say I have seen it because I know there will be more shit coming.

It is a shame and crime to leave this world without instructions. No funeral plans is criminal.

My stuff is listed and provided for in an orderly manner. It wasn't hard to do. Amazon has simple workbooks on what to do upon death for $20.00. No excuse for a mess.

The women are high and dry and they and their several kids by several pinoy papas are now on the hunt for a new okano to milk. This is all so unsavoury and just a step above the gutter, which is the natural habitat of so many Pinoys. There are the possiiblities of regular employment (no room) but there are dramas there stopping that. You hook up with one of these and they are scared you and your money will stray. I could not stomach all that long term and I am sure I would explode with it and maybe get a knife in the gut or a bullet in the head for psising in the wrong ant hill. What a mess.

Many of them see some ex Yankee soldier as theirpension plan, even though he has one leg in the grave.

People here joke about making babies. But they do that on purpose with good looking Indians or whoever thye think wil give them a cute baby. No planning that the baby will grow up uneduicated and a ladyboy. The gap between them and us is so big, like it was in Europe between rich and poor 200 years ago.

There is just such a gap in world views and experience. A huge red flag to me.

I have a live in GF so she will get all local assets (less than a million except for SRRV deposit and vehicle.) and all I have of value in Canada is bank accounts, I will just leave these to my kids in equal share. I will include in both the my requests for disposal of my body. As well as a full listing of all bank accounts in both places.

This just moved it to the top of my to do list. I will advise all of the will process here when I am done.

I can remember horror stories PH funeral homes holding bodies hostage for huge amounts and the permit fees to transport bodies back home. Creating nightmares for families to navigate from far away. Simple cremation and FedEx me back home.

Well, what a difference a day makes. Or a few months. Have flown around the islands here several times this (and last) year. One-way fares have been stiffer since covid. Typical OW fare from most any off-Luzon province to MNL has been, for me, p4 k to P9 k, depending holidays and such. Gone so far in the past year have been those wonderful p2200 promo fares. Until now. Received recently the annual CP email announcing the annual (or semi-) promo fares. OW prices drop over the next 2 months from p12 K to p1 K to as little as p288. Obviously that does not include fees, taxes and such. Pictured are OW examples from two southern provinces to MNL.

Sale period: July 15 - 31.

Travel period: July 15 - December 31.

Assuming it must be as I've signed up and travelled as a frequent flier for both. Also getting their posts on Instagram and Facebook showing up almost daily.

Generally when PA offer a cheap deal on an international flight, it's been almost impossible to find when you follow the links and search for it.

With domestic flights within the Phils I've noticed the prices have risen somewhat. I took a flight earlier this year from Cebu to Manila with CP and the plane was absolutely packed with people. The plane was unmarked and the safety card in the seat pocket was written in what appeared to be Russian? Turns out they were leasing planes from Bulgaria Air.

Having said that, I have booked a work trip in March next year at the cheapest price I've ever seen via PA. The only thing I pay extra for with PA is a preferred seat for an international flight. With CP all those add-ONS and taxes don't make the end price as attractive as they start out to be.

I've found a lot depends on your preferred day of travel. A departure date either side can save you heaps.
