HK pre covid was fun and I was able to put up with the felon meseros. It's a lot easier for us to put economic pressure on Hong Kong ownership or otherwise go to a different bar in Tijuana than it is for us to lobby state / federal legislatures to have prostitution decriminalized in the US.

Makes business sense, on a busy weekend like 4th of July they can afford to piss off a few customers. During normal business hours or when there's a lull between major holidays, they'll relax to keep the customers they have. C19 has changed their clientele too. Vegas people and those who would normally go to Asia to monger are making Tijuana home for the time being and partially increasing the prices (besides the overall inflation going on everywhere, 9.1% in US).
