Thanks for the report. I liked tacoma101's report too. Is cost of living super low there compared to rio for people who live in Brazil?
When Fortaleza was a good mongering city I used to rent an apartment for two weeks. The prices were way much cheaper than in Rio. However the last years I've stayed for shorter periods and stayed at hotels. There are plenty of good restaurants with low prices.
Fortaleza is cheaper than Rio, but the cost of living isn't super low.

Are there are any upmarket boates or termas in Fortaleza? Hard to find info, looks a bit dry.

Do you go by bus or fly?
I had a friend last semester a female teammate on muay Thai who liked watching spy movies on Netflix with me who went even further north by bus but she had local friends she was traveling with. Would have loved to go with her, and maybe will someday, but as I am 96 years old but look 40 due to my daily hoaring, it is difficult to attract girls to travel with, though do re mi helps, of course. Just pay after, as always.
Was looking at trips to penedo, the Finnish speaking town with a few Finnish girls in town.

Penedo (and Maromba) are worth visiting. Nice climate and lots of traces from Scandinavian immigrants. Don't expect to hear people speaking Finnish on the streets.
