Antalaha day 1.

1) Flight Tana- Antalaha:

It is always useful to be careful with Airmad schedule and planning, accordingly, I visited Airmad Branch in Tana the day before my trip, schedule was 30 mn ahead, and because of the lose planning they want to keep till last moment, they asked me to be at Ivato Airport at 05.10, two hours before (for a domestic flight!

However, luckily everything worked properly.

The plane was an excellent ATR 42 with about 45 seats and about 25.

Passengers between Tana and Antalaha , among which 5 Chinese businessmen (probably some buyers of rosewood, which illegal smuggling has been a wealth booster of Antalaha Malagasy crooks).

As, on Saturday, it is the only direct weekly flight between the capital and Antalaha , it shows that it remains a confidential destination.

2) Hotel Hazovola:

My target was to have a swimming pool and wifi. Both are good (pool about 20 m long, good wifi in rooms.).

They have a strange tarif, I never saw in Madagascar: their rates are.

Different of 5000 AR in their two kinds of rooms, depending upon you.

Remain a true single. Or if you expect to bring a young pillow in your.

Room!

So, as I am a "pillow lover" I had to chose between room at 105 000 AR and 85 000 AR.

In fact the first night no 85 000 AR rooms available (there was a family.

Party), so I stayed in 105 000 AR room, but changed next morning.

Wolferine puzzled me about the difference of rate between their two kinds of.

Rooms which looked so similar, he said, the difference was just the bed.

Would be harder or softer.

In fact in the most expansive it is Kingsize Bed (160 cm) and TV satellite; in the cheapest, it is standard large bed (140 cm) and local TV channels. But the rest is similar, including WiFi.

I agree with Wolferine. No merit to pay the highest rate!

3) Discovery of Antalaha :

Very, very, very, peaceful city, with a lot of green spaces, palm trees. And.

A nice and wealthy seafront. Streets well tarred (better than.

Tamatave) and as Wolferine wrote, the girls are much more dark skinned.

Than in Tamatave. I did not see any with a pale color.

With quite no people. So I did. In 15 mn, I saw 3 taxis, all going in.

The wrong direction with customers on board. I asked one if Eden was.

Opened: he said yes.

Finally, I get a tuk tuk going in the good direction, went to Eden but it was closed!

It seems more a cabaret / concert place (cabaret with a local artist is announced for next week end.) than a nightclub.

The tuk tuk came back, I asked him which disco was in town. It seems 2 or 3 are active during week ends.

The best known seems to be the one he led me: Bamboula.

But around 10 pm it was still closed.

I went back by foot in the night to my hotel, and came back always by 10 mn foot around 11.30. As no taxi or tuk tuk.

5) Bamboula disco and my loving pillow:

Nice Malagasy music and atmosphere in Bamboula. About 150 people dancing or drinking. I was the only white face! They have a funny game, not seen before: between dancing sessions, the DJ launches an auction of one.

Thanks Tije. Anthala was a dream when John Palmer initially discover it, calm with action ready to be eaten. Years past and the village become commercial with some traffic. But worst, somehow the quality of the girls become a disaster. Still easy to get.

That said, if there's a shithole where the mongering is spectacular, We'd for sure venture a coupla nights there. Mongering is a big priority, though like I says I like pleasant relaxing places.
