I wonder if it's the 505 I seem to recall having about a year back. It will be nice to be back this next week. I look forward to checking out some of the new saunas and walking into semi-legit looking foot massage places to see what I can score. Was there last Sat night, but didn't arrive until after 1am. In short, it was pretty similar to before in layout and turnout, but somehow just didn't feel the same. A few main differences (some not that different):
1. No other bars around it to troll through and get warmed up at, or even just catch some eye candy. Manhattan is now a destination rather than an option for those who were in other bars before.
2. Horrible guy-to-girl ratio. I'd say there were 3 guys for every girl. And somehow this bar attracts very large guys who, when drunk, knock people and things around (I don't mean intentionally). Anyway, kind of annoying scene unless you're already drunk I suppose.
3. Did really see any more private areas and the whole place felt a bit congested to me.
4. Bathroom was kind of a mess, both to get to and to use. Not horrible, but not very good either.
5. Seems like more of the older girls there. Saw a few cute Viets and several Flippers, of varying quality looks on the somewhat low side. Not many Chinese girls, and those that were there were veterans.
Plus side:
A. One of the dancers was hot.
B. Still has girls.
C. Was open late.
I suppose it'll work out fine, but it's really the only place there, and the potential for walk of shame (or worse) being near The Spot and Big Bamboo is a bit discomforting.

Time to make a contribution.
After reading about this place from this board I decided to visit.
Address: No. 777 Siping Road/Lu in Puxi District, Shanghai
Lots of construction right now. But just tell your hotel to give the driver directions. There's a restaurant right beside it and it is on the corner of the block on the 3rd floor. It has it's own separate entrance and it is very discreet.
600 RMB for 70. 90 minutes.
Here is how it works:
Go up the elevator. The manager greets you. Ask for Bob Liu, he speaks some English. I'm asian and can speak mandarin so no problems for me.
They first take you to a room (#21), this room contains about 8 lounge chairs and a locker area. He will give you a locker and a bag to store your valuables. The locker is opened by an wristband that you get PLUS it must also be opened by a member of the staff. Pretty good security IMHO as there are customers also waiting so I actually felt quite safe. You are given a robe and then after your done changing, they lead you to shower and hot tub area. You get a small locker and a second wristband to keep valuables as you shower and/or use hot tub. When you are ready, they give you a towell and a dispoalbe pair of shorts. Then, you are led back to the locker/lounge chair room where they serve you some fruits and some tea. You can watch tv or smoke and when you are ready for a girl, you press one of the buttons on the wall that say service.
The guy will come in and he will lead you to another room where there are 2 or 3 girls. The first time, the 2 that I got were ugly so I passed and told him that I would wait for the next one. I waited another 20 minutes and then was led to another room where 1 girl was there. # 205. Overall, she was a 7 on looks but a small tight spinner body with a butterfly tatoo on her back.
Leasds me to the room. They turn lights low so you can't really see the girl. Anyways, I get the standard hot and cold BBBJ. My .02 is:
1) the 'industry' is too big to shut down entirely
2) any highly visible enterprises (BBS and the like) will probably be 'encouraged' to take a hiatus
