If you walk along the beach in Sanur, any afternoon, for instance, wearing resort clothing and a friendly face, young girls will accost YOU, asking for jobs. If you cruise at night all you find are taxi driver/pimps. The hookers stay indoors due to heavy law enforcement.

I ended up having two full time GFs, a Muslim farm girl from Java and a real Hindu princess from Bali, taking turns at my rented villa and on my sailboat without jealousy or complaints. Great report. I am quite familar with the bar Loca Vida which was quite close to the hotel where I stayed (Kumala Pantai). I was there several weeks ago and on occasion went to this bar, which is basically nearly all wg's with the possible exception of a few touristas who randomly stumble in. I never noticed much quality at the bar and did not take any out though I was told by a taxi driver that the rate was $35 or so for all night, the price declining as the evening wore on.

Since you met this girl at 6:30am, then it stands to reason that the price you paid was about right. I should note that this is one of the few bars (including the double 6 disco) that stays open until that time in the morning. I also got up that time in the morning from time to time to take a walk on the beach and it never occurred to me to walk near the bar so next time I will have to remember. Perhaps I can find a straggler as well.

Great report. Unfortunately, I walked that beach several times in Sanur (early Dec) during the day and only had massage ladies pestering me for their open air massages. Sometimes, it is just a matter of simple timing. And your right, at night it really sucked with no action to speak of and a few random and thinly populated bars. There is a good reason that it's nickname is Snore!

I stayed two nights and was bored too death. However, after the first night, I did discover several brothels of varying quality with the assistance of a local barkeep. As you probably know, they are well known in Sanur.

The Name is "La Vida Loca" and there is Goodys Pizza restaurant next to it.
We used to call it "Goodys Resterampe" that means "Goodys surplus outlet" cos all the girls hang out there in the morning.

Hey 1Ball,
I had similar experiences when I use to stay in LOS. Gals are different but the themes the same. They will woo you with some story and initially charge very little (as to make their story more believeable about just needing it to get by) and appear not just a greedy money grabber. It's only after a few times when they think they "hooked" you that more will be demanded and the story expanded--like now they have to send more money home to feed her entire family etc..

Been to both and well, can't really compare the 2 places as they are as different as you can imagine. It's like trying to compare the city of Bangkok to the beaches of Pattaya in LOS.
Both have their attractions and I feel both are worth visiting so up to you if you like laid back beach resorts or the busy rush of a major city and definitely more gals to choose from in a major city. So, if you don't have time for both, perhaps you should do 1 location now and then plan a return to Indo to Jakarta later (or vis versa)

Hi 1Ball, I just googled Bali Escorts and got a few different ones. Bali Escorts comes up first but I would avoid them. If your friend is serious about doing escorts then they really have to be careful how they advertise otherwise heaps of trouble.

Even with a website, if they nudity the authorities will come down on them really quickly and it wont be pretty. I have a business contact who runs about a dozen escort agencies out of sydney who looked seriously at starting one here and then abandoned the idea as he saw the many problems involved. Also if they are a bule the authorities will extra crunch them.

if it was me i would suggest that she just gets a handful of good reliable girls and work the clubs with the option of home delivery. avoid paddys as there is already an operator there and they wont be too happy about competition. i have always said if you could have 5 top quality girls who are willing to work thier box off you will make a fortune... trouble is if they are really good looking they know the ropes and will arrange extra work on the side without your friend knowing... i would also offer the girls accommodation (good koss not run down) and health care, that sort of thing will make the girls more loyal and also easier to keep a track of. if she needs a website i am sure we can work something out :)
