Mangga Besar Side Streets Tour
Last night was a visit to the narrow streets off Jl. Hayam Waruk. These are the narrow roads east side of the Mangga Besar Busway bridge. Let's call them then Jl. Kebon Jeruk series. It had been about 10 years since the last visit, so curiosity struck and mild exploration was overdue.
The first visit was the street with the old Stadium. I was seeking a dive bar for a drink and asked around, but to no avail. This was around 9 pm and it seemed pretty quiet, aside from the usual shady characters hanging outside.
Heading north, the next street running parallel resembled Stalingrad circa. 1943. Not much doing apart from some very base massage options. Upon an invite from a mamasan into the kost behind her, I queried about places to get a drink. She said there were none on that road, but a bar on the next parallel street running north. So off I went.
Entering this next street with the Suisse Bakery landmark, options were pretty limited. As other posters have mentioned, Berlian is no longer. The only option was Royal Mas at the end of the culdesac. I popped in there for a beer. Level 1 is set up similar to the KI bars. But it's not quite as loud as Karaoke is the music option rather than blaring happy house Chinese. There were about 10-15 women that were all far left of the bell curve.
Content to settle with a beer, I got chatting with the bar tender. Royal Mas opened up there 2 months ago, having moved from its original location. There's 3 levels. Level 1 is a bar (with overpriced beer), Level 2 are the rooms (350 rb total) for a 1 hour full service massage. Level 3 is a lounge. Interestingly, we got chatting about Stadium. Apparently the original owners have just been issued with a new permit to re-open Stadium at the same site. Although under a different name.
After a beer, I left Royal Mas feeling underwhelmed. Returning to the street one row south I revisited the mamasan from earlier. Curiosity got the better of me. Prices were negotiable and she started at a hefty 500 rb. We agreed on 300 rb. It was a bit more than I thought was standard, but felt close enough. I was later told the mamasan clips the ticket at 70 rb for each session. The remainder goes to the girl.
There are 4 kosts inside. These are also where the women live and they pay their own rent of 2. 1 jt per month. As such, the rooms are very homely. The one I used had family photos hanging on the wall and I interrupted her watching Sinetron. The room was pristine. The lady not so much. However, she was friendly and it felt just like hanging out at someone's place. No English was spoken here, so some Indonesian helps.

I have many good memories of Royal Mas at their old location, most recently in 2018 when I had a great session with a slender 21-year-old named "Riska" who had just started working there. Zero massage skills but a great kisser and a nice GFE experience, I liked her so much that I came back for a return visit a few days later.
It's unclear from your report. Did Royal Mas move into the location where Kartika was? Kartika was my #1 spot in Jakarta between 2004-2018 and it will be missed by many if it indeed has closed down for good. A two-girl FS nuru session at Kartika was always on the top of my list every time I visited Jakarta.
Forgot to mention that in February 2005 I had a good two-girl session at Kartika, one of the 2 girls was Sonia a 30-ish Chinese girl with red hair, memorable both because she spoke good English and because very few Chiese girls worked at any of these spas. I had several other two-girl sessions with Sonia through 2007 but finally stopped choosing her because her service level had dropped noticeably (she was letting the other girl do 90% of the work). Walked into Kartika in 2018 for the first time in years and she immediately walked up to me and said "Hi Mr. MS" with a smile. Not sure if it's good or bad that (a) she remembered me and (b) she was still working there 13 years after I had first met her.
On the other hand, it should be interesting to see Stadium re-open under a new name.
Royal Mas and Kartika No More

Comparing my visit last week with Google Maps street view from January 2021, Royal Mas has indeed replaced Kartika. The current entrance for Royal Mas is on the right with the blue tiles.

Cialis from Street Carts on Mangga Besar
In town this week. Where's the 99 guy at? Thanks Hilo and all who was part of this subject thread.
Bought some from the street carts at Mangga Besar last weekend. Opening price for a bottle of 10 Cialis was 300 rb. We settled on 160 rb. Given I only take 1/2 tablet at a time, Rp8,000/ session is not a bad deal.
Alternate to Tinder for longer term stay guys
I go to Jakarta for work once or twice a year before pandemic, and about to have another one in 3-wks for almost 2-mo stay.
Seeking Arrangement is my preferred media, I found university students, flight-attendant, office workers, even pros all the time there.
I am courting one right now, she is law student in her 5th semester outside Jakarta, willing to travel on weekend to meet for the entire weekend as long I pay for train tickets. She is open for trip to Bali if classes are online that week.
I like this setup, we've been chatting / calling for 3-wks, not even once she asks for money up front. But, yes she expects money when we meet, she is happy with about $300/ night.
BTW, plenty of girls at Seeking Arrangement are semi-pro / freelancers, the going rate seems to be 2-3 mil for 1-2 hour and 5 mil for overnight stay. The girls are all 8-9 in my book, not sure about services since I haven't partaken in PPM world. I like contract GF more, since I like DATY and BBBJ, as well as the pillow talk afterward.
I chat two flight-attendants on Telegram / Wahtsapp and very tempted to take them out and see how it goes but I feel more connection with this law student. It's like BF / GF, since we chat every day for hours.
Will report back in a month, hope it all works out, I don't want to pay Seeking Arrangement again until my next business trip.
