I was in NightKat the last few nights (yeah, bored) and wasn't much going on there. Didn't stick around more than an hour per day. If the chongo next door has all the big chicks that have showed up at NightKat in the last 6 months, it would probably suck anyways. Their asses are huge..and they aren't shy about showing them.

I tried to visit 515 but they weren't open yet. Didn't have my list with me so I took a shot at it at 8:30. They guy said the girls didn't show til 9:00. Didn't really like the location either. No taxi traffic potential on that street at night. In other words, you'll be SOL when they have all piratas out front when you get ready to leave.

David[/QUOTE]515 is a legendary high profile chongo in Quito, I has been open for at least 15 years and I been told that many contracts with some government officers are closed there after a little collaboration of the girls (maybe it is just an urban legend, who knows...), I personally never been there but I been a few times on Extasis (just around the corner) although it is open since 7:30 or 8pm the girls arrive past 10 or 11pm and stay up to 4 or 5am, it's full of colombians girls, I like Mariluz and Sisa both from Pereira. Also I can personally recomend you the "agachaditos del Chavo" that is in the corner of those clubs it is a small street food place that sells the best "secos" (chicken or meat stew with rice) you can find after 12am in Quito. They are excelent when you are just after between being drunk and before the hangover.

Talking about Pereira there is a phrase that says "in Pereira all girls are deaf, you tell them to sit and they lie down in bed" obviously meaning that all girls in Pereira are pros, a funny thing happened to me with Mariluz when I met her, I arrived at 11:30 with some friends after having a few drinks somewhere else, we went to Extasis and as we were 5 we used our cover to bought a bootleg of whisky and start drinking, 30 minutes later I was, let’s say "not able to drive a car" and saw Mariluz, I walked to her and start talking:

- Hi, what is your name?
- Mariluz
- Nice name, where are you from?
- Pereira

Then I almost say "I've been told that all girls from Pereira are pros..." somehow I managed to shut up and laugh internally, finally I invited her a few drinks, she is nice.

I knew the neighborhood looked familiar. I've only been to Extasis once. I'm only in that area when I go to the CCI mall.

Since some weeks the papers give more atention at this problem: Morre than 100 chongos, nightclubs etc in the centre-north of Quito are illega because its forbidden to have these activities in the zonas residentiales and besides, its forbidden to have these activities near (less than 200 meter, Cheers is just in front of the university!) schools, universities etc. It seems that the policy will more strictly uptill now, not only because of the fire-disaster 4 weeks ago but also because some women groups are pressing the authorities to respect the law from now on. If not closed, the chongos etc have to be moved to the industrial suburbs of Quito.

This afternoon (friday!) I found Cheers closed. I suppose it has something to do with the publicacion in El Comercio fron today (see me report about that). On the door was no sign of the authorities although such a sign (¨Clausorado...etc¨) is usual in these cases.

First, they did'nt sign yet the new law.

Secondly, they have 2 years for to change area, and we are in ecuador so the things won't be fast!

This had a closed sign on it when I went by on Thursday.

Dont worry, the two year's law was made about 10 years ago, as usual expect this kind of shit this year cause Quito chooses a new mayor.
