8,500 miles
I just got home last night after spending 30 days in Pattaya (my 15th trip in 7 years), and I think it's still worth it.
Sure, it's not what it used to be, but I don't know of any place in the world that isn't changing. For me, Bangkok is just another big urban jungle, while Pattaya is a relaxed beach town.
Pattaya's combination of smiling friendly people, low prices, beach culture, climate, weather, attractions, delicious food, and thousands of available ladies at affordable prices make it a very attractive destination for me. No. It's not perfect. But I haven't found a better place on the planet yet. And even though it's a grueling 8,500 mile, 3 leg, 30 hour journey for me, I still do it at least twice a year.
I hope this helps you make your decision.
Wow, that is about 500 miles further than I use to come. Where you from, T. Bay?

[CodeWord908]
From Stickmanbangkok: "Thailand's low rating in a Hu man traf fic ing report has been attributed as the main reason for a surge in nightspot visits all around the country with the authorities making a show of cracking down on the employment of un deraged ladies, foreign nationals and those working in brothels against their will. " (Broken up words prohibited by site, WTF??)
Of course there is a [CodeWord908] problem that needs addressing, thing is it is with the offshore fish meal for shrimp farming industry. Problem is reality and perception are at odds.

Army Raid
Club for Raided again yesterday. This time the Army assisting the locals.
"A popular daytime bar located in Central Pattaya was the subject of a raid on Thursday, following a tip-off that sex and drugs parties were taking place at the location.
A team of Banglamung District Licensing Officers and Army personnel conducted the raid at the Club 4 Bar off Soi Arunothai, just before 6 pm and found many foreign patrons inside.
A total of 9 women, who appeared to be employed by the venue were taken aside and checked. Nothing untoward was found and all the women were over 18 and were not in possession of illegal drugs. Some were UrIn tested for drugs and they all passed the test.
Rooms on the second floor were searched and nothing untoward was found. However, checks on the venues licenses did reveal problems and these issues have been reported.
No evidence of sex and drugs parties could be found but a report of the raid has been sent to the Governor of Chonburi Province who may impose a closure order on the venue in relation to the licensing problems found. "

Horrible, horrible! I got the farting guy next to me on the plane, then the guy was playing the arm rest game hogging up my side of it, then the guy goes to sleep, mouth wide open, snoring and the worst part of it, had very bad case of halitosis.

Just to be pedantic, the goings-on in Soi 6 are, for the most part, illegal. Thailand, like many countries, has anti-brothel laws. Damn near every establishment on Soi 6 qualifies as a "brothel. " I suspect the raids have far less to do with John Kerry's bloviating and far more to do with the Thai authorities getting tired of the bar operators flouting the law. How long this might last is anybody's guess.

Amazing gold chain
It is amazing to me that in 2014-2015 anybody would walk around in a foreign country wearing a gold chain. Always carry only what you are willing to lose.
I always have my gold chain on me. I've been walking around shady areas in Bangkok, Saigon, Phnom Penh, Manila, Cape Town, Jakarta and a few others. I have never been robbed, attacked. Nor has anyone tried to steel my watch or gold chain.
Just use whatever common sense you have and don't spread horror stories.

Blow Jobs on The Beach
Took the speed boat to Koh Rohn today to check it out. Good thing I did as there was quite a swell today and if I had been on the ferry it would of been a terrible ride.
Lots of Russians at Tiem Beach getting hammered and there where some very hot young Russian women in Bikinis that I couldn't take my eyes off.
There was a group of Russians, all in their twenty's wearing T-shirts that said sex on the beach. There was about 100 hundred of them and they where all holding hands and walking down the beach and stopping every 100 meters and saying stuff in Russian and then chanting " sex on the beach".
I then noticed two couples run up about 50 meters behind the beach chairs where there where some trees and the two guys dropped their shorts and their girlfriends where blowing them. Anyone on the beach who would of turned around would seen what was going on. I was jealous to say the least.
