Have you guys ever watch the movie Casino? With Robert De Niro,
Robert De Niro had a wife that was a known working girl, and he tried to turn a working girl into a house wife, He gave her everything she could of ever wanted but she gave all her riches to a loser boyfriend because she was in love.
Actually she had previously been a working girl, but is described now as a casino "hustler". She was already pregnant when he married her, so not entirely a case of trying to "turn a working girl into a housewife" as she made no attempts to return to prostitution.
After she married the De Niro gangster character she did give some money to her ex-pimp boyfriend Lester, ($25, 000) who gets a beating from De Niro's friends, but most of the real money and the $1 million worth of jewelry she got away with from the $2 million safe deposit box didn't go to him.
At the end the De Niro character says:
"After Ginger took off, she wasn't much help to anybody. She found some pimps, lowlifes, druggies and bikers in L. A. And in a few months, they went through all the money and all the jewels. After they found her body, I had a private doctor do another autopsy. He said they gave her a hot dose. In the end, all she had left was $3, 600 in mint condition coins."
The woman in the movie is also depicted as an alcoholic and cocaine addict, which might have had more to do with her inability to settle down as the wife of a mob boss.
So, yes, if you are a well-connected gangster, make sure you don't marry out of your class.
