The above is why I finally started boycotting the casinos and staying in regular hotels that don't have resort fees. During Covid they most certainly did not waive these fees, yet all of those facilities were shut down. You were paying $30+ per night for really crappy Internet. Nope. Not anymore. For almost the exact same price I can go to a La Quinta, or similar, get a decent room, and breakfast, and screw those casinos.

I have seen the rise to 80 prepandemic, to no less than 100 and now even 120/150 chica rates post pandemic plus 30 for the room and with a gold magnum. I keep most of my money to the streets and back alley now a days. Too many times I have walked the walk of shame towards cbp from an HK trip feelin like the biggest Imbecile and thinking what did I just spend 300 on? One of the worst feelings ever. Rarely have I had that feeling when I switched up to daytrips with street tacos and avoiding Hk altogether. Ill go to hk for a special occasions or newbie introduction, but I've actually been showing newbies Options on how you can have 6 x value for you money on a one night HK budget.

Everyone else follows. Like the day HK changes prices the other bars do a week later if not sooner. Take Chicago club for example their beers are 4 bucks. No free beer coupon like HK. Baseball stadiums used to fit 50,55 thousand. They decides they don't need the extra 15 to 20 k fans in the building. Their small dollar $ mean nothing to MLB. Plus the price increases for the other seats due to supply and demand. This is HK business model. Eliminate the cheaper dudes, get more $$ from the other dudes, population increases world wide will cover a lot of the dudes that stay away, prices can go up another 30% next week, and even if volume guys goes down 20%, HK can make it up.

My hobby in the states would cost double or triple. HK is still reasonably priced, but you do need to be careful. I love Mxico.

I just do not have the time to fly to Europe and Moscow is a no go for the near future, so I will stick with MTY, CDMX and the occasional trip to HK.

Redeemed the free breakfast Card that came with the hotel card key. Available between 8 am-1030 am Monday-Wednesday.

1. Go to Hongkong Bar entrance after 8 am and get your mandatory security body massage.

2. Go hand Breakfast Card / coupon and VIP card to mesero (waiter).

3. Waiter escorts you to cashier to redeem a free drink and breakfast.

4. Cashier indicates the pictured breakfast is an extra dollar.

5. Paid the extra dollar to mesero.

6. Mesero proceeds to search for a Head Mesero to approve the meal.

7. Supervisor mesero indicates the free meal will cost me $10, Then I said I already paid the initial $1, Ok then he says they don't honor the card on Wednesday. Bullshit!

8. Finally got my food boxed and delivered, Took my food up Azul Restaurant Balcony and got some proper silverware and plate. Runtime 30 minutes.

The Roadblock:

VIP card perks is free valet and parking. I Self-parked at Pepe's and had ticket stamped during hotel check-in.

Unfortunately the blue ink was illegible.

Parking Kiosk guy says I need a (sello) stamp and need to walk back to HK or pay for 2 days. Bullshit!

You Call Hongkong or Cascadas reception cause I ain't moving (I was the roadblock) 2 cars waiting behind.

Hongkong sends a guy on golf cart and smooth things out with my VIP card and confirms room number. Runtime 20 minutes.

Checks:

Apparently the VIP card extra 15 min late checkout is only for short time rooms.

I have a 2 day room but checkout is at 1 pm.

First day I hear door knocking at 1:15 pm at my room. So I have to yell at them from the crapper that I have the room till tomorrow.

Had to call reception to inform the (talachero) room guys to leave me be. Diarrhea runtime 10 minutes.

There are many more perks I have to redeem from my VIP card. But I am sure I will have a time OFF my life!

Amigos. Like few people said already, now a days it became so expensive to hit Tijuana. Higher prices and also lot of attitude. It is completely a hit or miss. Disappointed many times lately $300 is not enough for a trip now a days. Any cheaper recommendations just to hang around with chicas and practice my spanish? Thanks.

Not afterward it has to happen when you got free drink. But using it can be different each time. Sometimes you have to go back give the money to the desk guy for the dance or sometimes just paybthe guy at the dance booth. So I stopped doing them plus I realized the girls absolutely hate doing dances these girls are lazy compared to American strip clubs. They will spend the whole dance begging you to go up for sex. Like I just paid $ for a dance and they think I'm gona end the dance 20 seconds into it for sex. I guess some guys do it so they try their best. For myself I won't be buying the vip card anymore as I slept in Tijuana about 30 days the last 2 months and only used hk hotel 1 night, the hassle with the pat down walking into hotel, having hotel guy go through touching my clean pillow sheets that I put in my backpack, lack of window in the room, easiernto get hotel on revolucion. Plus to redeem vip card for free drink is often a 10 to 15 minute line. So not worth buying the card. I did eat at Azul a few times using the card for discount.

What are your VIP Card Redemption Adventures?[/QUOTE]In 3 years or so of signing up for the VIP card I've not had any problems with it. I'm pretty sure the VIP card is $60 for 90 days, not 120. If you use the card for more than 2-3 days within a 90 day period, the card more than pays for itself in terms of hotel costs and the complimentary drink you receive daily with the card alone. Also free admission to HK when they try to charge an admission fee on the weekends. I don't really use the card for much else but still find it to be very worth it. As far as the free breakfast, it does state on the website that hotel customers get free breakfast on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (not necessarily even exclusive to VIP members) so would've just shown them where it says that on the website and see what they had to say about that. But I've never tried to eat breakfast at Azul. I have used my VIP card in the recent past for a discount at that new Senda Norte restaurant across the street. Seems like a much nicer restaurant than Azul and the food is good there.

I have had the issue you mention once with HK staff knocking on my door a day early thinking I was supposed to check out that day instead of the next. That was annoying but ended up getting sorted out.

Too much bureaucracy it seems in getting all the value from it, seems more like a rip off to me like everything in HK and the zona. You guys complain, but there is nothing cheaper then HK, short term. Try going to Vegas or Cancun, see how far $300 gets you. You can get better service, and GFE in MTY, CDMX or GDL. Then you will have to have to factor in hotel, food and a flight. Are lifestyle is not cheap, but it can be so much fun!

I think that you opinion is bias because you are not a local, and when you are in Tijuana, you visit HK exclusively and you are making a tourist comparison to Vegas and Cancun when all of the bars above are within walking distance. Literally within 3 minutes of walking. I mean you can fucking stand in front of HK and throw a baseball into the doors of the other bars.

But then my complaints are about the shitty policy and scams being ran, rather than pricing. No kissing in the clubs so that they can get the guys to the private dance rooms. Room Knock to sell a fool a buck of beer. Really? Fucking bullshit hustles that the dive bars like the Playboy club used to hustle. I don't see the other bars pimping those fucking stupid hustles.
