A few weeks ago I filled out the online booking system for the Mansion but never got a reply. Last September the same thing happened so I booked a hotel. While in Medellin, I stopped by the Mansion and they actually had rooms available during my stay. They said something about a new website or something. I've stayed at the Mansion several times over the years and enjoyed it. Has anyone else had this problem. Do they have a toll-free number from the States?
Thanks for all your thoughts on getting a girlfriend for multi-day travel. It confirmed my suspicion.
I suppose there could be a business opportunity here to arrange with girls with personalities that do well in this situation. But perhaps it's too small of a niche market.

I've always used that to make reservations.

As everyone else has stated, fucking someone for an hour and never having to see them again is quite different from living with someone for 5 days. There is only so much acting that either party can do. And to have a language barrier just complicates things even more.
I just email the mansion. As limited as I am, last stay, I fixed their computer rather than waiting for their tech guy to get off his ass. Given the speed of their tech, I would rather just go the direct route.
Will be going to Medellin the beginning of June and will be renting two rooms during my stay. One of the rooms will be in the El Centro area adjacent to Botero Plaza and Avenida de La Grief. I have stayed in this area before and already know where I will be renting a room for about 20,000 COP a day. I will use this hotel primarily during the daytime and occasionally at night. However as this area gets very dicey at night, I also am going to rent a room in a safer and more upscale neighborhood relatively close to El Centro, preferably in either Estado or Laureles. I have no problem paying upwards of 150,000 COP for a nice place to stay that is guest friendly with no joiner fees with the expectation that I will be booking a double room.
Any hotel suggestions with perhaps a pool and nice rooms / grounds that is guest friendly close to El Centro would be appreciated. Ideally the hotel will be close to a Metro station as well. Not interested in the Poblado area or the Mansion.

Granted he has a few personal amigos he allows in.
Also there was talk of allowing non guests into the bar for a fee of I think 50 K. , but no word on if that is a policy.

If not full, they expect you to buy a room to participate. They were full on the day I inquired, but I did not partake as I headed to El Centro then Mayorista instead.

Anyone going to Medellin, Cartagena or Guatape beware of a guy named Albert L. He is a con artist and habitual liar.
I gave him a deposit for a apartment and when I got to town he said it was rented!
Never returned my deposit after many, many request. He only threatened me.

I'm sure a lot of people don't read this forum on a daily basis, so it's a good reminder about certain scams that still exist. I didn't know about the December post until you re-posted it. I've had my own misfortunes with Medellin, which I have posted 2 years ago, but certain people here tend to attack those kinds of posts. Anyways, live and learn. One thing I have learned is to just keep certain things private, good or bad. Some people just don't appreciate any intel and tend to question your motives.
I have learned a lot from this site and have posted numerous trip reports from various countries to contribute, but now I understand why vets don't post as much or at all due to people just being trolls or questioning their motives. I am no vet by any means, but I go out and do my own homework and research.

There is nothing wrong with asking the question I did, as possibly the poster has alternative motives against the guy he is referring to. After all Hitler has but two posts, and shares nothing but his problem with Albert.
