For sure I won't be here in 10 years and not even in 2. I've chosen to come here again just to stay away from the cold and bullshit of my home country for a while. It would have been certainly better if I had gone somewhere else, swam and worked out instead of wasting my nights looking for something that doesn't exist anymore. On the other hand I got what I paid for and I have no regrets.

For some reason even Walking Street is getting emptied these days, the usual places were almost deserted yesterday.

I am planning another good time trip to Pattaya. But if Pattaya is getting so bad is it the time of the year? Or is it just morfing into a so so mongering environment? I am a relative newbie to the Pattaya scene the last few years and always had a good time.

But talking to some old-timers that tell me stories of the way it used to be 10-20 years ago, the stories are incredible and almost hard to believe. Anyway, I look forward to my one fun trip a year and my question is.

If Pattaya is not the mongering jewel of the world for price, quality and quantity, then could someone tell me where I should go and spend my hard earned money for a good time based on price, quality and quantity.

If $200 or more a day I see no issue, you can stay in the best hotels, be driven anywhere, pick the best girls and bear any barfine (pretty girls are only at go-go's now). The same $200 wouldn't be much for a regular holiday anywhere else.

It's when one looks for value that things (women) gets ugly.

Was in Pattaya for 3 nights. Arrived around 7 PM on Friday and hit BR rightaway. Surpringly there were lots of girls, not as many as previous year but a lot more than I saw 3 mobths ago. Found at least two that were pretty food tomy eyes, 700 and 500 bahts for an hour at my hotel.

Pretty good deals but among 350 or so girls thst I saw, almost all were well below my acceptable level.

WS had about a dozen but wearing heavy makeup. Very few Russian Tourists, quite a few farangs and Chinese busloads. Not that many Indians but Arabs wete everywhere.

During next two nights the nbers went down. Surprisingly on sat night it was a poor scrne till 10 pm. May be about 200 girls. But horrible quality. Saw 2/3 onlh thst I would go worh very reluctantly. Asked at least 4 girls about a MFF threesome and they all shied away.

Thos is not the Pattaya I experienced in previous years. Looks like we have max 3 more years left before this place will becone a place in monger history.

Just back from a stint in Pattaya and dropped by an ole watering hole on Soi Six for a few cold ones. Met a lovely WG from Chang Mai and was told the rooms upstairs are now off limits due to Five-O.

Shame as the rooms at the "Dot" were very clean and with some decor rather than walking across the street to a hotel dive you rent the room by the hour for ST.

Anyways she was awesome, real GFE and BBBJ and full sweaty action.

Wonder when the Soi will have rooms upstairs opened again, hope soon.

If we talk about Pattaya as a *Big adult fantasyland*, then Pattaya is changing for the worse.

And that it will keep changing faster ahead. Add to that, it's not the p4 p tourists that brings in the big money anymore.

With the crackdowns on the darkside, and beachroad turning mainstream, and even the places beyond second road getting more and more upscale / polished, there seems that the days where p4 p tourists where kings, Is in the past.

Don't cry no tears for Pattaya thou, as the city will do well with other types of tourists. Probably alot better than with stingy mongers. And also to remember, Asia is big. Really Big. And flights is cheap and easy also.

When one place goes away, 2 other smaller emerges. Cambodia would probably be a better choice for most nowdays.

So remember all the good times with a happy heart and move on to other hunting grounds.

I hope they clean up beach road and yes maybe in 2-3 years it will be clean of working girls. But there will still be literally thousands of beer bars, Gentlemans clubs, massage parlours, gogo bars and discos. Moving the mongering destination of the cheapest of Charlie's out of the most public location in Pattaya to behind closed doors can only be a good thing.

They are just catering to the low end of the market in a casual, self-regulated environment that is mostly free of pimping and exploitation. Take that away and Pattaya will have made another step backward.

The Pattaya of old is still there you just need to go away from the tourist area.

Ideas to start your day with:

For earlier bird, the little beer bar on the front of the Blues factory (Walking street) is flush with choice free lance, however the pickings are pretty much finished by 9:30 10-ish so get there early.

# breakfast at the Golf Club on Metro, I know $$ but it is pretty good quality!

# Second stop the message shops across from Triangle to help digest Breakfast -3 hole service-.

# slowly make your way over to Soi-6 Jomtien to Yellow message for a pre-lunch rub and shag.

# grab a bite at the American Burgers Kiosk just down the beach.

# slowly make your way to the top of Soi 6 Pattaya and hit Bee Bar, They'll Blow ya by the pool table and even bang ya in the WC, or if ya really want the touch-E feel-E you can head up stairs for 500 baht either or are up to the task.

# Welkom in Soi 2 always a good watering hole and give you time to negotiate the price to an amicable rate.

# Back to the triangle area for drinks a couple places to choose from with specials every day.

# Later around 10-ish at night hit buffalo or the freelance at the front of walking street beach side.

# They do have some other Expat clubs up on the hill between Jomtien and Pattaya (over in Scanda-hoolagin land) but forgot the names. One has an over priced buffet that you don't eat and is subsequently taken off your bill don't be surprised by it. BUT they have great wealth of quality poon at an Expat price. You'll just have to chat with a couple expats to finds the location.

This is what happens as you get older, your memory is stuck on faded events and happy endings, you get more ridged and fussy. They are correct in some respects but very unrealistic in others, these guys are also a great source of information but what they say needs to be taken with a grain of salt. What is more important is you learn from the old boys about how to spend your vacation $$$ . That lesson is called "Don't be a two week millionaire".

The game is the same, nothing has changed. Just enjoy, I'm coming in to town in a couple weeks can't wait!

Not all the girls on beach road fall into this category but many do.

I personally like the option to be able to return to a mamasan if some issue does arise. It's like having the ability of customer feedback.

I am three months away from my first Thailand (Pattaya) trip and I am wondering if the reports of a severe decline in quality is true. Is this just a case where veteran mongers who know what things were like in 2005 see a shocking decline but a newcomer (me) wouldn't know the difference or would a newbie be disappointed to?

Also to those who've been to both countries - how does Cambodia compare to Thailand when it comes to mongering (GFE, costs, safety, fun, etc.)?

Don't worry about what you heard, come experience for yourself. Even the naysayers always seem to come back.

My preference is Thailand over Cambodia but then again experience them both and make up your own mind.

Even if they get rid of the beach road hookers. As for the other discussions. Cambodia vs Pattaya. It's not even the same sport. Cambodia is amateur in comparison.

I think I have said before, if you have good money (or no taste), you'll be OK.

Cambodia is another planet from Thailand. Most "civilized" people doesn't like it. You can take a side trip to see yourself.
