Unfortunately, bad news is that Pattaya, even in today's diminished state, is still probably the top place for mongering for price, quantity, ease of use (it matters!) and to some degree, friendly service (though by no means for quality of looks).

In Asia at least, no other places have gotten better, nor have the major new ones appeared. I had high hopes for Burma coming out, but doubt it now. Most of the previously good spots have turned markedly worse recently (Angeles City, parts of Kuala Lumpur, Udon Thani, Hat Yai, Dongguan you name it).

For me, Singapore (Geylang) is looking increasingly attractive. Not that it got any better, but it has huge variety, relatively low prices, good ease-of-use, but generally poor and hasty service. If non-GFE quickies do it for you, it's now competitive.

Maybe there are up-and-coming spots outside of Asia. I doubt it, but I'll defer to other mongers on that.

But, objectively, one has to wonder how much nonsense the Thais are willing to put up with. Pattaya has always had such in-you-face sleaze. It's an embarrassment to the Thais, in general. At some point, especially with a strong economy, I think folks are going to just say enough is enough.

This is SEA, and there will always be available women. But I do think the scene will go more behind closed doors, as it were. Perhaps much like things were before the US military came to town. :)

You can't move cheap Charlies into bars, because bars are a rip-off. The whole point of cheap Charlies is they want to fuck someone else, not get fucked.

I can remember getting great 3 hole service 'just as I liked it' for 300-500 baht back in the day (which was $8-12 in real money back then). In the 10-12 years since then prices have soared and service has plummeted. Now one gets virtually nothing in the way of service, and the price is, in dollar terms, something like $30-50. The point is we might as well not go to Pattaya anymore, its really not any better than DIY.

I think the WGs on Beach Road are the least obvious form of P4 P in Pattaya. The thousands of beer bars, massage parlours and gogo bars (and the gentlemans clubs and discos in a lesser degree) with their scantily dressed girls and loud music are much more obvious P4 P and hardly behind closed doors. Compared to them the girls on Beach Road are keeping a much lower profile.

And to call Beach Road the mongering destination of the cheapest of Charlie's is also BS with all due respect. Of course there are cheap Charlie's among the punters who go there but in general I think punters go there because they don't like to waste their money in the beer bars and agogo's with their (too) high price tags.

A lot has been said already on this forum about the Beach Road girls. And I am the first to admit the quality has gone down over the years. And yes, there are junkies, alcoholics and HIV positives among them. But I think the majority of the Beach Road girls are just very normal girls: house wives, single moms, the occasional student and girls with a 'normal' job looking for some extra income. They are not on drugs, they don't drink much alcohol, they don't smoke and they are not night owls. It's about time they get the credit they deserve!

Sitting here in miserable old London and I can only lust for the Beach Road dollies, it is truly bizarre how for years many bemoan the quality of Beach Road. The essence of Beach Road is it's simplicity, it still beats all for a quick cheap shag versus the dross and fuss of beer bars. Really this issue for me is not debatable. Opinions will differ, however most will have pulled from the Beach Road, cheap charlie or not. Do I want Dolly hanging on my wallet once business has completed? Hell no!

Rather sit and hit my coldy before she gets warm, witness the couples eating in silence after all they have nothing in common, language asides.

I guess I'm an old hand now, only eleven days to go. Cannot wait to drool down Beach Road, I want them cheap, I look and feel like a million thanks to mom and pop, does this make me cheap charlie? Hell no, sensible I would say, only want to shag them, none else.

I have delayed some time in writing this, maybe because it gave on my balls a little.

The place is the most liked by the youngish, but it's absolutely unbearable to me and it's not a matter of age.

First of all, Thai girls (or women) tend to go there only when they have found company already, so depending on the time is not like there is an huge variety of free women. But there is a certain common cretinous attitude that I can't stand.

Second, not only shisha smoke but also their servers are asphyxiating, they are anywhere, all the time. Watch out as you walk or move around as leg burns and ruined trousers are a definite chance. After two hours there I had a robust cough the following day, call that a coincidence. Waiters also can't keep their place, one had the face to question as I was sipping to a lady-labelled bottle.

My experience was also made worse by wasting time after a drunk selfie taker that was unable to say WTF she wanted, but that was my fault only.

Some comments about myself, 55 yo caucasian, bald but not fat, well manored, first trip to Pty 2003, last was in 2012.

After arrival at SUV took bell travel at 1st floor to PTY, not having booked ahead had to wait 2 hours, OK no problem. Got a seat behind the driver, first surprise when talking to my neighbour the lady in charge for bell told us that our banter would distract the driver. Ok short break and then talking in low voice and less frequent. This compromise still did not please her she was definitly busy with studying some cosmetics catalogues and it was her who felt disturbed because the driver had no problem with having phone calls; so she approached us again in a even more rude way, telling us to stop talking. The rest of the journey was eventless for having a nap, thank you Bell travel, I expect this to be a single event.

The ladies:

What I liked in Pty are the beer bars, especially soi 7 and 8. While it was shooting fish in a barrel as stated here frequently business was slow, even slower as on my last trip. Worse, quality of the looks of the ladies dropped significantly beer bars with coyotes left aside. I would not fuss about not being called handsome man as in earlier years, but I appreciate some attention especially if it is a young cutie when passing by. This is very rare nowadays (no matter which hour) with the ladies being busy with make up, smartphone, eating or simply talking to eachother.

Had a drink at some places none of the ladies spoke more than a few words english this might be due to my preference for younger fresh girls instead of older, hardened heavily inked ones. At 11 pm decided to change the scene and have a look at soi 6.

Walked down from second road, left side has lots of LB, who I am not interested in, some bars were closed, don't know if because of the raid, finally settled on a place in the center of the soi, sat down with a lady with passable looks. Nit noi english spoken, no problem ST only, need a good sleep to get over the jetlag. BF? No problem although as you may guess I was not well known at this place, walked up two stairs inside the house (I mention this because of the raid discussion, BTW it was Feb. 18) no shower? OK, up to you, I don't fancy a shower at these places. Reasonable BBBJ and covered FS. In summary a little bit in a hurry and not that eager to please in former times had fantastic BBBJs. Would give her a friendly 7 in looks and 6 in performance.

I went there with the idea to find an option to take out for LT, what I prefer need somebody to take care of my morning wood.

Feb 19: Did the soi7 and 8 walk and finally settled with M. 36 yo the cups small and curvy sweetheart. BF 300, LT 1500,2 days and nights of GFE but I had to cut her loose because I would consider only at the end of my holidays staying longer with a lady I really like.

Feb 22:8 pm have a look at WS, first beergarden and barcomplex at boxing ring slow, nothing of interest, other barcomplex on the saside dito. Now I want to see some cuties Gogo time.

Have to keep it brief, staying in PNH now and memories are fading away a little bit. Went through 6 Gogos, a few stunners but a lot of 5 and 6 you would not expect in a Gogo. During the rest of my stay barfined 2 gogo girls from LK Metro.

Sunny at Oscars was introduced by a waitress the place being still quiet at 7 pm, witty reasonable english for being quite fresh 1000 BF (after 12 pm reduced to 800) + 3000 LT. Although being part of the dolled up category what a body young, slim, no babies, be cup -I had to do her. I agree, prices have increased but compared with other posts I got a bargain with the gogos, BTW 2000 was Sarahs suggestion. Being low season you should be able to settle a reasonable price as well like 3000 LT for a gogo.

Staying in Pnomh Penh right now and will move to Siem Reap March 4th. Somebody wants to meet there for a drink just pm me.

But the fact is that not many people who are already coupled up enter any of the discos on Walking Street. Most go in single or in a group of their friends in order to either party or look for someone for the night. I would go as far as to say that ibar has the youngest crowd overall though. That being the case I would also assert that the younger women who go there are not looking for men their father's or grandfather's age, but someone who is closer to them in age. I have not really seen any 20 year old women with 60 year old guys there as you would find in a beer bar or agogo. Not many 60 year old guys could stand the music and party atmosphere there anyway. As far as the shisha, that is rampant in all of the clubs these days so it is not exclusive to ibar.

Also, WS pub and Marine are 100% shisha free.

Addendum to Day 1. To the right of Oasis Night Club near LK Metro, I was approached by the same time share girl from 2 years ago. She asked me to go to a different presentation for an hour so she could get 1 K baht. I wanted to help her so I went. She took me on her motorbike to A+ properties. The short of the presentation was $7 K USD for 120 days at their 5* resort. The amazing part was while I was waiting for the car ride back, I asked the receptionist out to lunch the next day & she surprisingly said yes.

Day 2 Met up with the receptionist at Central Festival for lunch at Fuji but I took her to the Hilton buffet. She took me on her motorbike for a little sightseeing to the Pattaya sign & the big Budda. It was super hot so we went for a 2 hour Thai massage. Then a lite dinner & movie at Central Festival & back to my room to watch TV. We showered and were in bed naked but she would not do BBBJ so I asked her to leave. Many other fish in the ocean! I paid for lunch, massage & movie but ass & tit grabbing were free. Fun day.

Day 6 massage in afternoon just outside walking place. Highly recommended, no extras, very professional. I plan to return daily. I did two shots with her & tipped 140 baht and told her we had to leave to meet others for dinner.

AMEXSPG's gang met up at the Beer Garden just outside walking street. Decent food at modest prices but night view of the bay is amazing. Definitely recommended. After dinner the gang was off to go-go hopping. Beach Club, Gentleman's Club, Peppermint, Baccara, Happy. All the places had great looking girls but I like the raunchy so I want to go to Windmill or something.

Days 4 to 10 were a blur of late night partying with AMEXSPG at go-gos, I-bar, mid day breakfast / lunches, and many massages to try to reduce the extreme back pain from 2 to 4 sessions per day. I like the raunchy so this girl was perfect for me. Late night pick from Insomnia, 3 hole, took it like a champ. 1 K short time was fine for me as I'm not a fan of the LT. I would repeat.

For those first timers to Pattaya, look for many balloons outside a bar especially on Soi 6 but also on Walking street. It will be somebody's birthday or the establishment's anniversary and there will be a good amount of free food. The girls will all be in a good mood and dressed up too. It's enough for a lite dinner just be kind and tip if they are serving you. I love it when they are roasting a pig right in front of the bar. Sometimes there will be karaoke or dancing but a good time is virtually assured!

Yes, 3 hole service can be found on Beach Road but it can be difficult. I estimate only 1 in 20 will agree to it and charge a premium. They typically ask 1 K baht ST and sometimes I offer 700 or 800 plus tip for good service and sometimes I just say ok. These two girls were great service providers. All in for 1 K ST. Mai pen rai.
