I am truly curious what you mean, as you seem to imply that there are unique forces at play currently that make Medellin specifically, and maybe also Colombia in general, more preferable to Brazil for mongers at the moment. Maybe I'm overlooking something when I decided to temporarily suspend plans to visit Colombia and focus all my available hobbying time and resources in Brazil until the Real strengthens a lot vs. The Dollar. FYI, I've also decided to suspend visiting European hobbying scenes from FKKs to Spanish brotherls and SE Asian venues (Bangkok, Jakarta, etc.). All of which I've visited in the past couple of years, as the degradation of their respective hobbying scenes in terms of either value / pricing and / or service levels just doesn't make them preferable to Brazil.
I've NEVER mongered in Colombia. I have friends that go down to CTG, MDE and BOG often pre-pandemic and sang Colombia's praises. They tell me there are logistic hurdles to overcome, as most hotels, especially in CTG, are not girl friendly. You would need to usually find a guest friendly Airbnb. They also say crime against hobbyist are more prevalent than other Latin American venues, from Tijuana to Mexico City to DR to Costa Rica. In certain cities (specifically CTG, you have to deal with the annoying tutes).
They also tell me that there are many hobbying venues to choose, from online options, puta / indy night clubs, strip clubs, street girls, casa, etc. They say there is a big online scene, usually Tinder, Facebook and the like. The club scene has more gringo tourist pricing and the service levels are more restrictive. The casas are usually in more seedier neighborhoods and rooms are basic and girls are sometimes from the bottom of the barrel. They tell me getting some GFE services, that are basically standard in most western hobbying venues (US, Canada and Europe), like BBBJ and DFK have to be negotiated and often times a firm "no" is still given, especially at the higher end venues. But if you take the time find the right girl (s) or spend the time weeding out the non-GFE girls, you can have a great time.
Even with all the above, they still love Colombia due to the hot Colombian and Venezuelan women, the strong dollar vs. COP. They tell me it's a great place to visit as a group of friends for hobbying, as the group dynamic negates most of the logistical obstacles, pitfalls, dangers and cons of the Colombian hobbying scene. Flights are plentiful and cheap and flight distance isn't too long from most of the US. There are lots of great places to eat that doesn't burn a hole in your wallet. And Spanish, which is more taught and known in the US, is spoken.
However, they did warn me that new solo or smaller groups traveling there will have to be more wary, as it takes more preparation, more research, etc. To have a successful trip. Colombia is not as easy to hobby in as some of the point and shoot hobbying destinations such as DR or CR (I would also now add Brazil as well, but my friends and I hadn't been there pre-pandemic), especially for a 1 week or less trip and you are used to the amenities from staying at nice hotels.
So based on the above, the significant increase in crime against hobbyists and my friends not planning to visit Colombia anytime soon (one of the reason is that they discovered Brazil during the Pandemic! I've put Colombia on hold. After discovering the wonders of Brazil, I can't imagine myself choosing to go to Colombia over Brazil as long as the BRL remains above 4. 0 vs. 1 USD.
I've found Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to be have a huge and diverse hobbying scene. Everything that is available in Colombia is available in Brazil, but larger, more diverse, more robust and more developed. The STANDARD / BASE and AVERAGE service levels of the Brazilian garotas blow Colombian chicas away.
You don't need to do a lot of prep work and invest time in the online game in Brazil to have a good GFE session at value pricing in Brazil, but you can if you wish to, as there tons of options via online escorts, SA / MP, Tinder, Twitter, etc.
The boates and termas in Brazil blow the night clubs / strip clubs in Colombia out of the water (according to my friends who have been to both). They don't have the same gringo tourist trap vibe, as the ones in Brazil mostly caters to the local, both white and blue collar. They tell me any of the top 5 clubs mentioned in this forum (Scandallo, Caf Photo, Bomboa, Connection and Casarao) are better than those found in Colombia.
The clinicas / massage scene is also more robust than the casa scene in Colombia. You can go from cheap prive to normal clinicas to high end massage place in Brazil, all with higher average service level than Colombia casas and at the high end place in Brazil, you will receive a near guaranteed GFE level of services with top end girls.
I won't compare the hotness of Brazilian women vs. Colombian / Venezuelan women, as that's highly subjective. I'll just say that I find top end women from all 3 countries to be super hot! However, Brazil definitely has more diversity due to its immigration history, as you can find girls with Irish, Germanic, Nordic, Western and Eastern European, Slavic, Italian, Asian, Latin African and Indian / Indigenous looks pretty easily in Sao Paulo. It's almost like Dubai in a way, but the talent is generally local to Brazil, rather than imported from abroad.
I also love that 99% of the hotels in Sao Paulo are girl friendly, from the cheap places up to luxury 5 star hotels. That is not the case in Colombia, especially in Cartagena. That makes overnights at your own place challenging unless you get a guest friendly Airbnb, which lacks many of the amenities, convenience and safety elements provided by hotels. They also love the diverse love motel scene in Sao Paulo with high end places like Lush, Asturias and others.
One of the most important considerations for most hobbyist is the cost and value of the hobbying scene in the country they plan to visit. With the Real so weak vs. Western currencies, pricing is very comparable to Colombia, which also is weak vs. Western currencies. The caveat is that while both are weak, Colombia has had a higher inflation rate over the last 4-5 years compared to Brazil. The COP also has been weak vs. Western currencies for what seems like forever. The weakness of the Brazilian real is pretty recent and might not last.
You can currently find cheap $15-25 USD fucks in Brazil at Prives / clinicas just like you can at casas in Colombia. The club girls in Colombia seems to ask for $75 to 125 USD for a ST fuck and $150 to $300 for LT / overnights. Same as you can find in Brazil. I'm sure some will say their regulars are cheaper, or if you put in the time, you can find better bargains / value, but that can be said of both countries. In any event, I am going by what my friends tell me the current rate is and also from what I've seen posted when I check the Colombia boards semi-regularly. They also say that the online options have very comparable in pricing. One other comment they made is that the gringos / tourists actually have more of an impact on the mongering pricing and the availability of girls in Colombia as compared to Brazil, especially in Cartagena, which has either balanced the two countries and sometimes even tipped it in Brazil's favor, especially with the weak Real.
They do say food is a little cheaper in Colombia and Colombian hotel prices hasn't gone up post-pandemic at the same rate as SP and RJ.
But probably the most important thing for me is the service level of the girls. They all say they were blown away by the near universal passion and love making skills of Brazilian women. They all claim that on average, Brazilian women beats Colombian and Venezuelan working girls in the bed room. Sure, the best of the best from all 3 countries could be a tie or close to each other, but we are talking about average or general expected service level. You rarely have to negotiate regular GFE service (DFK, BBBJ, DATY, etc.) in Brazil and anal is often offered and requested by the girl without you asking. All without a surcharge! After over 125 punts with over 75 different Brazilian women, I concur whole heartedly. I've not had the same high average level of service anywhere else in the world and I've mongered in Canada, US, Mexico, most of Western Europe and some of Eastern Europe, SE and East Asia and Australia, and many of those spots within the past 3-4 years. Brazilian women are a killer combo of hot and diverse looks (especially that incredible bunda from the slim all the way up to the curvy an) and amazing service in the sack.
As I said, I've never been to Colombia, so these are the opinions of my friends who are experienced in Colombia and finally discovered Brazil during and post pandemic. Almost all of them would now choose Brazil over Colombia.
For a newbie or short term visitor, I don't see how the current situation in Colombia beats Brazil when everything is considered. The only advantages I see are 1) flight time 2) flight cost 3) You speak Spanish and 4) you take month + long trips or is a digital nomad and plan to spend lots of time in country and prefers Airbnbs to hotels.
Therefore, TLDR: What is so unique about Medellin at the moment to make it better than Brazil? I actually think it's the reverse, as the extremely weak Real vs. Historical norms make Brazil the UNIQUE situation and you should go before that goes away. The Colombian women and the historically weak COP will still be there down the road.
