If you guys say it's safe I may bring 1 card with me, but as of now I'm unsure.[/QUOTE]I have found, after many trips to Tijuana, that usually the cambios (currency exchange vendors) on the US side of the border tend to offer slightly better exchange rates vs. The cambio windows on the Tijuana side of the border. No need to bring a credit card with you to Tijuana.

Just confirm with the desk clerk that your regular room has a safe. Master Suites are generally the size of two regular rooms. The issue of escorts going to your Cascades room is an issue with the agencies, Cascades welcomes all chicas that have ID. So if you want an escort to visit you at Cascades, work that out with the agency.

A second follow-up trip from as close as Orange County should be easy for you. The number of available chicas is much lower on days other than Friday and Saturday. If you are not too picky, any day of the week should be fine. It is best to make your Cascades reservation without any mention of an HK VIP card. When you arrive in Tijuana, go straight to the HK customer Service desk near the bar's north entrance off Coahuila Ave. (not the south alley entrance) and buy your VIP card. Then go up to Cascades and give your reservation number with your HK VIP card concealed. When the desk clerk says your room is ready and asks for payment in cash. Then wip out your VIP card. Guys who walk up to the Cascades front desk waving their VIP card sometimes are told their reservation, or an available room, can't be found.

La Perla in located on the Northwest corner of Coahuila Ave. And Nino Heroes. Best taco stand IMO is kitty-corner to La Perla, on Nino Heroes. Both are pretty close to HK's north entrance. Sushi One is a good Asian restaurant, located almost directly across the street (Coahuila Ave.) from HK's north entrance.

I think the whole issue stems from what others around will think about you if you eat alone, but you know what, fuck them. As long as you are enjoying your time alone then I don't see what's so depressing about it. I've gone to different cities alone and I've eaten in an area full of families and couples, do I feel like I stuck out, nope. Personally some of the best times I've had was by myself, I control my time and every aspect of I do. Obviously, anyone alone or group will stick out if they act clueless, paranoid, or are on their phone. It's called being aware and street smart, something people don't understand.

I have been here for a week now, leaving on August 10 so I have a looooot of time still.

Do any of you guys have good recommendations where to meet people in general and of course women that are into partying? I have tried a few clubs and have been doing OK in las Pulgas, few makeouts here and there but even though the place is huge still seems like a huge challenge if you are out solo. I have a friend who decided to come with me to Tijuana but he has no passport. He said it'll be fine he'll bring a birth certificate and ID. Will he be stuck at the border or just have a hard time coming back? I'd love for him to come but it won't be a good time if he can't get in or come back.

The issue will be trying to get back. Officially he needs a passport to return and as such he can be denied entry until such a time his citizenship can be verified, I've heard stories of people coming back with no passport but I can not tell you what will happen. Depends on the officer, the current security level, federal policy, and how busy the crossing is at that moment. I don't suggest risking it.

Thank you TinyTrucker. It is a risk that he is willing to take and if the worse that happens is a fine or wasted time in secondary I'll let him assume the risk. Hopefully me having one will help his case and we don't get a cbp who is bored or on a mission. They have better things to worry about. I'm being selfish by letting him come for a wingman as he is a chick magnet. I have no social skills until 10+ minutes into a conversation where I thrive.

Legally, if you can prove you are a US citizen, they must allow you reentry into the country. ID and a birth certificate should do it. How much grief they give is up to them. Also, they keep records. I don't know that it would happen, but you could get flagged on return trips.

Typically, crossing into Mexico without a passport results in a $22 fee and some grief about having a passport next time. The Mexicans are not much on keeping records, so it shouldn't show up or give you grief later.

If I didn't have a passport, I wouldn't cross, as I don't need the grief. And with the current administration, it is impossible to predict the policies hour to hour.

The best thing to do is go to a passport processing office and apply for a passport. They will give you a receipt that shows proof application. The US & Mexico immigration service will accept this as proof. I have heard where the Mexico immigration service will deny you entry into the country without a passport. This happened to a friend of mine. You can go either to SD county administration building downtown. Or the better option is to stop by the UCSD passport processing office. There is a much shorter line at the UCSD processing center. Be sure and check the hours since they both have fairly limited hours.

Do the paid lots near the border fill up quickly?

How long might it take to cross into Mexico around that time, by foot?

How long back into US Saturday around noon, by foot?

Following instructions they gave me over the phone, I went to the passport agency with a letter from my employer stating that I had business travel into Mexico several times a week. It jacked up the fee, but I had my passport the same day.

It also works if you can show them a plane ticket for travel out of the USA coming up real soon.

Thanks.[/QUOTE]The parking lot referred to as Border Parking is your best bet, its just off to the right of the last US exit off the freeway. There is always room to park. It will run you about $30 or so a day on the weekend. My vehicle will be parked there tomorrow night about that time. You need a credit card and that will act as your ticket when you swipe it. It only takes about 15 minutes to cross into Mexico via Pedeast if you have a passport. Go past the vendors and across the street to a taxi stand. Give them about $5 and they will take you to the Hong Kong. On Saturday when you cross back its anyone's guess. Use the Pedwest crossing.

Quick question. I am about to start choosing rooms for my first Tijuana visit, and I was wondering if smoking (mostly just e-cig / vape) was allowed in Hotel Cascada rooms? Also curious about Hotel Ticuan and / or Pueblo Amigo, but those look like high-end hotels so I doubt they allow smoking in the rooms. Thank you guys for your help! Greatly appreciated, my friends.
