I believe you have to go down one level from where you get luggage, but I'm not sure. I just never pay that much attention. In any case, go outside the building at the correct level and look for the many tables near the taxis.

It sounds like you got to the right place, but you NEVER pay anything to the people at the tables. I'm not sure where you were, but I've never seen anyone pay anything at the public taxi stands. You tell them where you are going, they right it on a paper, give half the paper to the driver, and give you the other half. I hope this helps. TTG

Thanks in advance[/QUOTE]When you exit immigration, the Thais at that level are offering you pre-paid "limousine" taxis; it will be more expensive.

You have 2 options to get a public meter taxi.

1) At the Ground level (lowest level) , there are public taxi stands where they will give you a coupon (you give half to your taxi driver, and you keep the other half if you want to complain later). Most taxi drivers will try to rip you off and say it's 500 baht to your destination. Just be firm (and polite) and say "meter!", and they will ALL turn on the meter. You need to add 50 baht (service charge) to the meter amount. Also need to add any tolls if applicable.

2) To save the 50 baht charge, you can go to the arrival level (highest level) , and take a meter taxi that dropped off a customer.

In practice I never have to ask for the meter to be used. They always use the meter.

But I never take the parked taxis. Those guys have to pay to get their spot, so you have to pay so they make money.

Very rarely a taxi will quote a fixed price before starting off or decline to go somewhere (maybe they're going off shift, or they fear bad traffic because of rain, or whatever). In such a case, I hop out and get the next taxi.

Many times a taxi has rounded down the fare when they drop me. Taxis have offered me discount when they missed a turn and had to drive on to make a you-turn.

I just felt I had to say a word for the taxi drivers. Most are cool.

I was so frustrated that I just hung up the skype. I did a search on google for flights and it gave me Nok Air as one carrier. So I went to their website and was able to purchase 3 tickets at the same time as the Air Asia flight in less than 5 minutes for 7, 740 baht, that is $90 less than Air Asia. Let's see how it goes with this carrier.

Well we have been busy since before Christmas so I haven't had time for a break for far too long. The only time I have managed to get out anywhere was Christmas eve with some of the staff in Soi cowboy and New Year 's Eve when I went to nana plaza but found myself too tired to bother with a bar fine. At the start of February I have decided I deserve a few days off and intend to spend them in Pattaya. I think it's important to get out of Bangkok every now and again and working all the time does no one any good. Although some people prefer other locations in Thailand personally I look forward to my trips to Pattaya. First things first the last Sunday of January I am heading to Spanky's in Nana plaza as I have some unfinished business with a certain stunning lady there. I have a burning need to make up for the disappointment I inflicted on myself, through drinking too much, and the falling before the finish line the weekend before Christmas in Pattaya, with the same lady, I intend to be as fresh as a daisy this time and very sober so as to enjoy every minute of the session.

In the two and a half months since we opened I have to say I have been very surprised at just how professional the staff has been here at The Salon. I had numerous warnings from various sources, qualified and otherwise, about how much of a nightmare it would be. The general consensus was that Thai people are difficult to deal with and having so many ladies all in the same place would be a man management minefield. The biggest obstacle westerner's encounter with Thai's is that they try to manipulate them to their own established ways of doing things. This will only lead to a path of guaranteed frustration. You are better off just accepting that the cultural differences exist and don't try to eradicate them. As for some of the specific warnings I was told the ladies would be lazy, unreliable, untrustworthy and listless. I have to say none of these aspects have materialized in any way at all (so far). To be honest all the problems I have had to deal with have concerned customers and not staff. Even things that I assumed would come with the territory such as theft have been a no show.

For problems in getting the Asian low cost airlines to approve your credit card charges, it is always better if you sign you card up for Verified by Visa. After signing-up my Chase credit cards, I have never had a problem again.

The after hours clubs, generally speaking are your best bet for the professional "semis". Nothing will get going till after 2 am. In Sukhmumvit area you have Liquid, Climaxx, and Insomnia. Several others like Shock 39 and the newest popular one, Mixx, are a short 40 baht cab ride away.

Many girl in after hours club will do LT. They'll usually be very happy with 2K baht. (Russians, Africans, and the higher end Thai girls that'll come in from Spasso or CM2 will want double or more)
