I see small towns like Danao, Toledo (I've made a PL contact here, which could be fruitful) and so on. Also see Bogo City far north but that looks like I'd have to back track down the coast.
input welcome!
Cheers.
Hi Mary,
I did the trip down from Bantayan to Cebu City on Saturday and made some observations for you on the way.
(I had the PL notifications set along the way).
As for Bogo, forget it. It's quite vast, but not a great area and quite a way to travel in the hope of glory.
Actually, travelling down the coast there doesn't look to be too many options. But don't give up on that plan. A bus fare from up top of the island to the city is only 260 p.
Places like Carmen and Catmon and there-abouts are on the coast. However, these places are not particularly pretty and there are limited accommodation options from the look of it. I got a few hits via PL when I was travelling through Catmon.
I'd say your best bet would be Danao. There seems to be some newer retail areas around the port area, and to the south there looked to be a few resorts. Or decent hotels. One, I think the name was Coco Palms and there were a few others. Keep in mind, these were just observations from a bus.
From the top of the island the most hits I got on PL was in Danao.
Once you go further south than that, you're basically hitting Cebu City, where you'll get heaps of hits from girls all around.
I suppose it's just a matter if you want to make the effort of finding something elsewhere. That coast road will be no tourist hot spot. But you never know where or how you'll get lucky.

_Phil.
Thanks Phil for the observational notes.
I've been reassessing my trip. After Cebu and then Bohol, I've decided to skip Danao and to take in more of the south after Moalboal, where I'll spend the Easter week, then on to Dumaguete (hope ferry ride is smooth) then back on Cebu up through Oslob, Argao and finally Mactan before flight out. Not too heavily reliant on hobbying but will take it as it comes, or doesn't.
Cheers!

Sounds like a better plan and a good tourist route.
Keep PL active on your phone at all times and set it so girls can see your location when you're close to them and you never know your luck.
For 'hobbying' I'd spend a few extra days in Mactan / Lapu Lapu before you depart if you haven't got too much action prior.
You should get hits from girls in Cebu City and Mandaue as well as the local girls.
If they want money up-front for a taxi fare, just say you'll pay the driver when they arrive. Despite the traffic, it might only be 200 p.
I've stayed at the Waterfront across the road from the airport a few times and they're girl friendly. But you'll probably find cheaper options on Mactan, but maybe not so convenient.

_Phil.
Girls can be scared that they will be stuck with the taxi bill if they arrive and the guy is a no show. I find it better to send a Grab to pick them up at my cost.
This also weeds out the scammers. If they start making excuses that sending them transposition money is better than you know it was all BS.
Enjoy. G.

But I've never managed to get that Grab app to work. Even on the Phils phone I carry. And if I do, it says 'no drivers in the area' or similar. Really?
I've just found that if a girl wants to provide a 'Daffy Duck' for 3 k, she'll get there even if she gets a Habal-Habal and then hits you up for a 200 p taxi fare.
I always pay on delivery, in more ways than one.

Paying the Taxi

Enjoy. G.
Although it is better to pay when she arrives, there is a real risk to the girl that the guy won't actually be there. Then she is really in trouble because she has no money and owes the taxi driver money. Does this happen? Yes, there are guys out of the country who like to play games with the girls. I know that in Mexico City, it is common practice now for the girls to ask for the transport money upfront due to no shows by the guys and the girls being stuck with the taxi fare.
So, it is understandable that the girl would ask for the transport upfront but as mentioned, you can arrange for Grab or moto transport on your cellphone for her.

_Phil.
Phil,
I'd be lost without Grab. There was a time that they were trying to promote their own financial services so wouldn't link third party cards but that's been fixed now. Mine is paid in local currency and charged against my Wise Card. It's worked without problems in numerous countries in the past year, no problems.
If you have your system that works, all power to you but there is no way I'm going back to thieving pricks at airports, never having the right amount of cash on me or trying to explain a destination in some obscure dialect. Not to mention booking to collect a third parts as mentioned before.
To be fair, I did come across 'no cars available' once but that was when it was pissing with rain, waaaay out in the boonies at a hourly hire flop house on the edge of Butuan. Never had a problem in town.
Cheers. G.

While in TH I had tons of grab rides cancelled by the driver after waiting already for 10-15 minutes, at some point it became ridiculous.

I'll give it another crack next time around.
My Phils only phone hasn't been happy. So that might be the issue.
I must admit I'm pretty useless with phones and all the apps you have to have these days. I generally do everything on a laptop if I can. On Pina I can use both.
I suppose I'm just at the stage of not wanting to learn how to use yet another piece of new technology.
I only just re-trained how to 'do it' with a condom last week. And that was an effort.

Question on Cost
Hello, first time here coming from the USA site. Planning on going to Cebu for fun in August. Got 2 questions:
1. For a first timer in CEBU is there a quick FAQ to give me the lay of the land? Do's and Don'ts, where to find girls? Etc. Kind of like a quick guide for a first timer.
2. When you post prices like 400. Is that in Philippine peso? Or in USD?
Sorry for the noob questions. I've mongered all over the US. I just never mongered Internationally.

It is full of girls who bussed in to the big city in search of Jobs or Education. Many are away from nosey and gossiping friends and family for the first time so have no issues with meeting up to earn some extra funds. Lots of options but try PinaLove or Date in Asia.
Newbies find the Ayala / IT Park areas easiest for a soft landing.
Costs are generally shown in Philippines Pesos. That's what you will be paying the girls. Expect P1500 at the lower end and it goes up from there depending on what's included and relative hotness.
Enjoy. G.

When is a better time to visit? I was thinking August because that's the time of year my work starts to wind down, but I could go later. Before August is going to be hard for me.
