I arrived in Banjar early afternoon and headed straight to the Banjarmasin Hotel International. Behind the hotel is a large entertainment complex. A bar, massage area, karaoke and disco are on different floors. Both the karaoke and massage area are open during the day where as the bar, disco and karaoke are only after dark.

Inside the karaoke was a small fish bowl with about 20 girls in it. Most looked to be 20 to 25 and 7+ in looks. When I asked about the price I was told 150k per hour for a minimum of 5 hrs. The mamasan stated several times that this was only for "helping to sing and drink", so the total cost would have approached a million. This may have got lost in translation so if any other mongers have the true details please correct me They were also not allowed to go back to the hotel room. Given that I was looking for someone to come back to the room rather than the karaoke booth, I passed. The security can organize take aways but I was taken aback by the price so didn’t investigate further.

I then used the hotel taxi (90k for 2 hours) to head off to have a look around town. The Duta Mall is a new place and there were quite a few girls hanging around. I was the only bule inside and it was obvious that they don’t get too many white visitors. Some of the girls wouldn’t so much as make eye contact but others were easy to approach. After a while a willing candidate was found and the deal was done (200k ST back to the hotel). She seemed truly amazed that a bule was even in the mall. Looks were an 8 with typical Banjar features. Not too tall with good tits and a few curves. Back at the hotel there were a heap of people checking in so it was good that she was in pretty "normal" clothing. Good BBBJ and relaxed sex followed. She seemed very happy with the 200+20k so I’m guessing that she was just a part timer.

After she left it was time for a shower and cat nap. At 10pm I headed off to the disco. Everything was packed – the entrance area at the bottom, the lift, everywhere was full of people. AT TEN PM. Once inside, it was the typical Indonesian disco, loud and pitch dark. Until my eyes adjusted I didn’t know if there was one or a million people inside. I took up a seat away from the speakers and it wasn’t long before the girls started streaming past. They came in three waves. The first was "you like drugs/you buy me ecstasy? " Doing time in Indonesia doesn’t appeal so I passed. If this is your scene then there was a heap to choose from, all young and relatively pretty. The next group was the old working girls, well past their prime. Again pass. The third group were the girls just out for a good time and the possibility to make a few bucks. One good thing was that the offer of drinks wasn’t an invitation to bankruptcy. Plenty of Indonesian girls see an invitation to a drink as an opportunity to drink the top shelf dry. These were happy with just a Fanta or water. After some small talk another deal was done. 200k ST or 300k LT, depending on the service. One thing that she insisted up on was that I leave first and she follow to the room. This may have been because of higher kick backs to security if she was seen with a bule. Looks were about 7 ½ (it was hard to tell in the darkness) and the service was an 8. Beginners BBBJ was followed by enthusiastic sex. I decided to keep her for LT and went to sleep.

At 2. 30 I was woken by the sound of the disco emptying. This is one for future reference as there were heaps of girls flooding out through the car park. In the light you can actually see what they look like as well. . Plenty of 8s and 9s. I’m sure because it was the last opportunity there would have been plenty of takers. Maybe next time. .

In the morning a similar second round followed and again she was really happy with the 300k. Maybe too happy. Longtimers can let me know if this is overpaying for the area.

For those with good Bahasa skills and a bit of time the drive around town showed up the following options to be investigated next time. Both Ramayana’s (lots available but most are reluctant to talk to a bule, no English, get there before the small stores close at 5 pm). Numerous Hotels with Karaoke’s (I didn’t try due to the prices mentioned above – let me know if I got the pricing/process wrong). Hairdressers "Salons" (look for any with blacked out windows, some have rooms other are take away). I’ll advise on these options after my next visit.

[QUOTE=Concarne]Where is Banjar located at? How to get there? TIA[/QUOTE]Banjarmasin is a large port city. Its the capital of Southern Kalimantan with direct flights to Jakarta, Balikpapan and Surabaya (probably plenty more as well). By road its a good days drive from Baalikpapan - dont do it.

Banjarmasin is located in the Island of Kalimantan [Borneo]. South of the border from the state of Serawak, East Borneo, Malaysia.

The best connection is taking a quick air-ride out of Jakarta. Most of the flights are direct flights, approximately US$110.00 for a non-LCC flight.

On a short trip to Palembang recently, I can report that this place is very slow. Perhaps it is because I was there on a Sunday/ Monday. "Zinc" a club with live band does rock but pretty slow going so early in the week. Otherwise, hotel Novotel offers good karaoke (and pool) with a good selection of good-looking chicks. Taking them away is quite expensive I hear (1M+) as the mamasans operating there seem quite aggressive.

Another place which may be worth trying is "Retro", a bar in the Capital building. Went there about 9.30pm but it was too early, the action starts at 10pm.

For those of you who know Palembang, please do post information as I have not found much info so far on this city here on ISG. Thanks.

I often stay at Gran Puri Hotel, where in the GPclub (basement) at around 11 a nice selection of p4p girls came parading around. However, last time (December) the choice was far less than I was used to and also the quality was not as expected. One of my "old friends" told me that most of the action is now in the HaHa-cafe at the fourth flour of the big MataHari Mall on the Boulevard. I went to Jogja last Sept. Nice little town and had a nice time (see my FR in Sept 06). The becak guys are helpful but they normally take you to massage house or brothels near Moliboro.

To find FL go Papillion Disco at around 11pm on anyday...most FL will go this disco first before venturing to clubs such as Hugos or TJ's. Going rate for LT is 250 to 300. Papillion us not far from Moliboro St.
Beware though not many Bule go this club so you will be easily spotted amongst the revellers.

Java girls are very lovely, but be smart and not be taken by their charm. Just pay and play. That is my take.

I haven't felt the information I've found in the forum on finding girls that helpful. I can't stay awake late enough to haunt a disco, and somehow the idea of "just ask a becak fellow" doesn't do it for me.

Just by dumb luck I encountered a young man who knows Yogyakarta like the back of his hand. If you want to look him up and hire him for similar purposes, just head to the Malioboro Mall and find "Ben the Magician" on the ground floor at the foot of the "down" escalator. His young assistant, Vishnu, will be glad to assist you for a modest sum. I tipped him 50,000 and it was worth every cent. While you are there, pay Ben's fee to get him to teach you his spoon-bending tricks--they are a knockout!

Staring from the main West-facing entrance to the mall, go West across the street and then head North. When you pass the KFC on your left (but BEFORE you get to a Circle-K), turn left into Jalan Sosrowijayan. As you walk along look for alleys that go off to the North (your right). They have signboards over head: "Gang 1," then another block and "Gang 2," and so on. The tricky part is that "Gang 3" isn't marked as such, but with a blue sign on which in white letters is painted "Sosrowijayan Kulon." Turn into that and within a few dozen meters you'll find low-end WG's in abundance. According to Vishnu, those girls are typically 100,000 or less. I was there in four in the afternoon, and while I was solicited verbally, I didn't see any girls that I would have been willing to take home to Mother.

If you want "top-class" girls (400,000-500,000 according to Vishnu), retrace your steps to Jalan Sosrowijayan and continue West. It becomes Jalan Kemetiran, and just before you get to the Hotel JogyaMoon you will pass, on your right, a well-known pick-up brothel called Corona. It is katty-corner to the JogaMoon, but not on the corner, but one more house East of the katty-corner house. There are no signs or numbers--you'll just have to go by the picture.

Or better yet, get a taxi, tell him "Corona" and he'll take you there, get his cut (which doesn't come out of your hide, so why not?), and you can have him wait while you pick up a girl to take back to your hotel.

As I was there in the afternoon I didn't get to sample the talent, but the one girl on duty was definitely up to snuff. I'll check them out on my next pass through town.
