Houziwang, that comment is probably the main reason why the Taiwan board is generally made up of people relatively new to Taiwan. Once you have been here a short time then most people realise that what you have now said is the best way to go. Last Sunday on my way to the modern art museum, I could see tons of filipina (maybe also thai, indonesian.) north of the intersection of minquan road and zhongshan road (parallel of linsen road). If you are a foreigner (I mean white) stear clear of SC for a while especially the area under the bridge. That is where the raids took place so police presence will be there for a while. If you are a foreigner, there is a one million percent chance they know what you are there for. So stay away for a while until it cools down. Getting to the park is really easy, PM me and I can tell you. There is police at the park too so be careful where you walk. Again, if you a foreigner, you will stick out like crazy so be careful.

From my experience, most places in Taiwan that advertise massage and have beautifully decorated reception areas and cute girls offer NOTHING. It would pretty stupid of them to offer that since they are so public and would be raided continously. Best bet is to find quiet, hidden places. Taiwan can be a pretty sad place to monger and your choices are limited.

Sounds like Mandrila stumbled onto the 'Combat Zone'. Go back on a weekend evening and there'll be more activity although the strip has definitely come down in recent years.

The basic rule is this: any Zone bar with women standing in front offer drinkers company in exchange for ladies drinks. That's it.
