5-600Kes? You've no idea how lucky you are! I got properly done not long after arriving in Nairobi (had car & she suggested a quiet car park, I was none too comfy with it from the start but it was pretty central-CBD-and well-lit but no-one else around & seemed quiet. Massive mistake!).

5 mins later a dark shadow appears by the side of the car in khakis and starts getting more & more aggressive. Then I noticed the huge gun under his jacket as he got in & told me to drive. I thought this was the end for me, I'd be cleaned-out and then taken to a quiet spot & done away with. That was the longest hour of my life. It was a cop (groups of them patrol the CBD brandishing very big guns) but I was still trying to work-out if he was in cahoots with her! I suspected she was in on it, despite much crying through the ordeal and being carted off by the upper arm by the copper in the direction of the main cop stop once he realised he really wasn't going to get any more dosh out of me that night (although not without putting me thru the ringer first)! It was just too coincidental but then again, I was clearly caught in a classic 'gotcha' spot & she may have just hoped to make a very quick buck from the encounter. Opportunism is never far away from these girls' minds so she may have played along even if she wasn't involved in a scam. Either way, I found myself 35k down and he was holding out for 50! I think my demeanour told him I'd done all I could. What started as a 1k quick one ended up costing me over 30 times that and a very nasty encounter with a well-armed corrupt copper.

Quite unable to believe he let me go, I drove off vowing never, ever to do anything like that outside again and I haven't nor will I, nor would I advise anyone to even think about it, even if you are a tourist. You will be taken to the cleaners pure & simple. They know how to properly sh*t up Westerners & get their sizeable cut from you so don't even go there. I always get a room now, no matter what! Had you have been through that experience you would do exactly the same, trust me.

Sounds like they were Askari's (night watchmen & security guards) in that 4X4 (or just opportunists) , the fact that they were happy to settle for that little tells you how lucky you were. Coppers carry great big guns, Askari's have sticks, that's it so no contest in the bargaining stakes.

Especially had it come to light, as it would eventually would, that you were departing that night. You would easily have parted with KSH 50, 000 to 100, 000. Even if it meant calling back home for the cash.

I also need to mention that the gals are usually in consort with the cops (your case seems different). But many a nairobi man has parted with KSH 5, 000 to 10, 000 when the gal takes the man to fuck in his car in a parking lot, underground parking etc. The guard, who is also in on it, calls the cops and they appear very fast.

Hi everyone its my first time to Nairobi and I was wondering if someone can shed some light on how one can remain safe while picking up girls at clubs. I have heard that while taking the girls back to the hotel there are many check points and cops want bribes? Is this true? If so what do they charge? Also is it mostly about money or can it turn out to be more malice then just a simple bribe. Whats the safest way to pick up girls both pro and non pro and take them back to your hotel.

No problem if you have taken a double.

There is no security on every floor (as it is in the Stanley) , but if you show up in the middle of the night with a beautiful long legged companion they will ask for I'd. However no problem during day time and earlier time in the evening as the hotel is always full of restaurant, pub and conference guests and nobody cares who is entering.

I have booked a double but I plan on having multiple guests in the day and one for the night cap. Do you recommend the stanley instead? How is the intercon I have been on tagged and some people have recommended that. But I prefered the hilton because its so close to Florida 2000.

I am on tagged and I have been meeting some yummy's. I have been direct with what I want in terms of one and one, but I have not had the nerves to ask any of them for a three some. 2 girls and me. How open are the girls in nairobi to this suggestion. Will they mind if I ask them.

About $150 / night, great free breakfast, free WIFI, no hassle with ladies (I had a double room). They sent them right up. Lots of security in area.

Stanley certainly has more style than Hilton, and 200 m closer to Florida. During day you will have no problems in both hotels. It seems that you can enjoy an open budget for your hotel stay: maybe you should consider the Sankara in Westlands. New 5, exclusive roof top terrace and very close to Hot spots in Westlands (Black Diamond and all the other pubs and restaurants).

The girls were always over the moon after we had enjoyed a dinner or some drinks at Sankara's roof top terrace.

Hey thanks for the info. While mongering it is very important to have a comfortable place both close and hassle free. So what I got from you was that Stanley is more classy. But they have security on every floor. I don't know if thats a good or bad thing. Hilton does not have security on every floor. I will be mongering in the day so both hotels seem to be ok for the day. Its the night I am worried about. Which of these 2 hotels are good for the night. Again I will book a double room.

One other question I have is that Can I walk to florida at night from these hotels or is it recommended that I take a cab in terms of saftey. Again Thanks for the info really appriciate it.
