Sometimes they are there and prevent the girls from approaching tourists (they'd book them for loitering and molesting tourists, never mind that I WANT to be molested!) , but quite often they go AWOL anyhow. Very simple : If you see them, go to a different beach.

When they are not around, the girls will be all over you, like flies on a rotten piece of meat!

Some like to be on the beach whereas others prefer to stay in an urban area.

Basically if the girls are keen then occasional shows by tourist cops not be a bother.

The eternal question: where do I stay. First night in Kahama, followed by getting a decent apartment (safe, convenient, not stinky, not noisy, hygenic bathroom, hot water for shower, cooling fan or AC, mosquito nets on beds?).

Town staying is good for disco casablanca or florida. Hotel dancourt after GPO is good staying. Noice from new Rio club disco is small problem during weekend. It's hard to tell, but I recently read a statistic that said 80% of pros are infected and overallis infected almost 1/3 of entire kenya. Now this is something that sould make you jump on the chair. That means if you want to go with a pros (but effectively even if you go with a free) you have not to kiss (risk of bleedings in mouth, like a teeth or so) , you have not to lick, you must get a covered blow and obviously get in condomed. Now, although this is reasonable, it's very problematic for kind of guys like me.
