The shootings are nearly an everyday thing here. I know people all over town, I hear first hand reports almost daily, nothing surprises me any more, nothing. Not even anything close to what all happens here makes any newsprint. The soldiers were hurt in an ambush, the 4 killed were due to a grenade being thrown in a different location, all away from centro.

The last time I was in NLBT at night, I had gone out there some local guys at 3:00am on a Saturday night, Sunday morning. The place was packed like I have never seen it, literally wall to wall cars, the locals bars were wall to wall people, we went into Los Arcos and Gattas (formerly Pimp Daddys) , wound at the Star Bar where we could get a table. I have not been to Nuevo Laredo / Mexico since Saturday night July 28. I was thinking about going to Reynosa Boystown 3 weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. I blew off going to Reynosa BT and went to Sears and purchased a bicycle. On the way home from Sears, my frickin' brakes went out on me not too far from my house. It's a fucked up feeling when your brake pedal goes all the way to the floor with no brakes. It would have been Major League Fucked Up to have been on the highway to McAllen and lost my brakes. I thought it was the master cylinder on my brakes. Turns out it was corroded brake lines on my 2001 GMC 2500 HD truck. The Garage / Shop had to replace all my brake lines & I also had them do a transmission fluid change. They don't sell pre fab brake lines. So the mechanic had to bend all the brakes lines with tubing benders to match the factory brake lines-very labor intensive. That set me back $1177. 25.

The same week that my truck was in the shop, I had air conditioning problems with my outside condenser unit at mi casa. Had to have the motor run capacitor and condenser fan motor replaced-$686.

I had planned on going to Reynosa BT last Saturday night but I got muy borracho Friday night drinking Lonestar Longnecks with lime / salt. I had a Major League Hangover Saturday so I blew off going to Reynosa BT. I didn't want to sweat my ass off partaking / renting Door Girl's panocha in their rooms without air conditioning while still recovering from a hangover. I last went to Reynosa BT in June and the Door Girl selection sucked hind tit, it was very poor. The one chica that I did partake of had a fan in her room & I sweated my ass off. I don't know if any of the Reynosa BT Door Girls have A / C in their rooms. I remember a few Nuevo Laredo BT Door Girls used to have A / C in their rooms. I read several favorable reports from different dudes that went to Reynosa BT in July. So I have been wanting to check out Reynosa BT.

Lipstick in Reynosa BT is the equivalent to Danash in NLBT, it's an upscale strip club. Panocha prices at Lipstick from what I have been told is 1800-2000 Pesos which is just too much dinero in my opinion. Back in June when I went to Reynosa BT, Lipstick had several hot chicas whom I would have paid Danash Panocha prices 1300 Pesos. And a bunch of average chicas whom I would have paid Papagayo panocha prices. I always use Lipstick as a base of operations when I go to Reynosa BT. I drink beer there, use their bathroom and rest / recover there between partaking of door girls. I am friendly with the two security dudes that work the front doors at Lipstick. They are cool, I always talk/b.s. with them. I have been to Lipstick enough that the Meseros recognize/remember me and give me good service. I always give a Mesero a propina for their service when they bring me a beer. Not many Gringos go to Reynosa BT, every once in a while I might see another Gringo. I am usually the only Gringo at Reynosa BT when I visit.

Nuevo Laredo Boystown is not worth going to anymore at all in my humble opinion. I have not seen much of a selection of my preferred chica body type-flaquita bonitas at the El Centro Panocha Bars in Nuevo Laredo in my previous visits. Thick gordita & gorda chicas are the predominant body types in the Nuevo Laredo El Centro Panocha Bars when I have visited. And reading about the clubs getting blown up with grenades does not inspire confidence in my visiting Nuevo Laredo right now. So I will most likely visit Reynosa BT sometime in the near future to see if it is worth a shit and to my liking.

Last night, Thursday, about 9:30, at least 7 shot in front of the Herradura, the corner by Arkanos. 5 for sure killed, also in front of Unico (Unicorn) , unknown number there, the military an police would not let anyone close. We took a girl, a friend of one of the killed at Arkanos, to the funeral home to identify his body, they told us they had 20+ bodies, all killed last night, and had a call to pick up more at different locations in the city. Looks like things are getting quite nasty around town, and now downtown is not exempt.

Bbond, Thanks for the update but it's depressing. Chris Long and I were just talking about making a trip to NL in a couple weeks. Looks like we'll have to shelf it. You take care of yourself.

The media in Nuevo Laredo is absolutely afraid to report these incidences. In addition to this incident reported by Bbond, there was a shooting a few months ago where soldiers pinned a pickup right by the entrance of La Montera and killed 3-4 individuals. Also, two men were killed right in front of the Hotel Fiesta and thrown in a van. None of these were reported by the local papers (El Diario and El Manana). There is a report of this latest incident in the Laredo Morning Times but I don't subscribe and can't read the article in detail. Refers to a score getting settled between cartel members.

I told Bbond a few weeks past that I have had some real bad vibes about that area where the Fiesta Hotel is and the whole Herradura, Arkano, La Montera area. Sure enough, this latest incident occurred. I posted a couple of weeks ago where my friend and I were having a shrimp cocktail in front of the Fiesta Hotel and were seriously eyeballed by a pickup truck full of characters who I believe were looking for someone. Driver had a pair of black gloves, windows were heavily tinted. Could have sworn I saw the barrel of what looked like an AR15 in the hands of one of them.

As much as I hate to say it, I'm going to have to start going back to Hunters in Acuna. Acuna is the only safe place I think there is for border towns these days.
