Fancy Guest House, opposite the Ankor international, just off 144 Street. $25 a night for first floor balcony room, Spotlessly clean and change the sheets daily, nice and safe with cctv in the hall ways. No problems bringing the ladies home day or night.
Smokes and Grog
One block up towards riverside. 1Lt Finland vodka $8. 50, carton of Beer Lao stubbies $14. 50 and carton of Marlboro lights $9. 00.
Cheap Eates and Drinks
Bogie and Bacall Bar top end of 136 street, $0. 65 Angkor beer, $1. 50 long island ice tea and a all day $3. 95 budget meal which includes a free beer. Good place start off drinking and meet the locals. Have a couple of very ugly old hostess.
Hostess Bars (My top 3)
Beaver Bar 136 Street and Rue 5, good selection of girls, $20 to $30 for LT, had a couple of 3 holers, one bare back. Have a dark room under the dance floor for rub and tug or BJ $10
Happy Man Bar 110 street and Rue 5, Khmer run joint, fat little mumma son who is loads of laughs. Plenty of Vietnamese.
Up Down Bar next to B&b, Not your teeny booper, plays good music, load of girls and 3 ladyboys.
Viet Knock Shops
2 on the other side of Heart of Darkness, $8 BBBJ and $13 ST. Check under the bed for shifty Viet to steel from you and don't walk along the side of the bed as the dirty little harlots like to spit and through the used donger there.
Extras
Hire a boat for $45, orginize a few mates, girls and food and go for a 6 hour criuze up the mekong.

Good info from HandyDan. Our hostess bar recommendations don't quite match, although I like Beaver Bar, but what are the odds that any two guys would exactly agree? The balcony rooms at Fancy could be had for $20 with negotiating last May. I did not know about the cheap food options at Bogie and Bacall. I will have to check it out. I now understand its appeal. always saw the unattractive hostesses and average menu, and kept going. I think it is the only "hostess bar" near the riverside or St. 51 that I have not been in.
HD, which Viet knock shops are you talking about? The massage places on the same block as Heart of Darkness, or the more straightforward houses around the corner on 154? The latter were definitely still providing FS for $5 a few months ago, but of course tried for $10. The only time I tried one of the massage places by Heart, there was only one lady who would do BBBJ, and she was neither young nor attractive. Maybe I was just unlucky, and I should give it another try.

Got a discount at Fancies, but iI think best posting the higher price and let the punter negociatate! Same for the Viet massage joints (2 on the north side of heat of darkness) got good BBBJ on the condition of a root. They work you up for a BJ and you work them up on a ST, better their BBBJ the more money I pay for a root!
The best thing about PP, differant strokes for differant fokes! 104 Street are mercenaries, except cololinal bar which is good too chill out and play a game of pool. 50% drop in tourism and 30 more bars opening, you would think it would be cheaper!

After spending time in PP and Sihanoukville, I will travel back through PP and have 3 hours before heading to the airport to continue on to Bangkok. Any suggestions for a daytime (1-4 pm) place to have a great session and overall time?

Don't mind the buses, but a 12 hour bus ride just ruins my day, if not two. I'm planning on going back to PP to pick up a plane, but was wondering if anyone had an alternative. A beach in the middle with some PDP or just a good touris scene would be great. Any ideas?

Koh Kong has a bit of a scene, and I hear Pattaya does too.

The scenery wasn't bad and as i was travelling solo, so i jumped in the front of the mini bus so i had a bit more room. I dont think i'd do it again. I'd rather get back to PP then flight back to Bangkok from PP then catch a cab to Pattaya or stay in Bangkok. All depends on how much cash and time you have...catch the bus is really wasting the day if your not into the scenery.

If you fly into Bangkok, you could consider getting the Bell Travel bus to Pattaya. It only costs around 200 baht and is ok. A coach to take you to Pattaya bus station and then a minibus to take you to your hotel.
You can find Bell travel at Level 1 gate 7. I did this in December and had no problems at all. You can book over the internet, or just take your chance and turn up on spec and see if there's a spare seat. They usually run every half hour. It sure beats the expense of 800 - 1,000 baht for a taxi and is just as comfortable with the reclining seats.
