A lot has been said about an EXPAT's behavior in Asia. Let me clarify, I am 100% Asian, Indian ethnicity to be precise, so some of the assumptions do not hold true in my case.

As of the senior colleagues that I mentioned in my previous post, I have a very awkward relation with them. They are all in their late 50's and I am about 15 yrs younger than them, but soon I will be their boss (family owned business, they have been running it since inception, I just got pulled in). So its not as if I will lose my job (hell, I can fire them if I wish), but more out of respect of the people who helped my old man set up a successful business.

Furthermore, our family name is well known in business circles in India, so the last thing I wish to do is sully the goodwill.

If your company has Filipino employees or if your abode has Filipino doormen or cleaning people, Filipino culture can influence your situation.
