Pattaya Hotels

I'm looking for a slightly upscale hotel in Pattaya, preferably closer to the GoGos (which I think is South Pattaya?), although could do North Pattaya if location is the only drawback.

Basically looking for something like the Amari Orchid Tower, or Dusit 2. Upscale. And limit being approximately 3, 000 per night. The problem is, I think those 2 hotels have joiner fees. I emailed Dusit 2 and they responded that they do have a joiner fee but did not say how much. Amari has not gotten back to me but I think they do have joiner fee and, besides, they charge a lot extra for wifi which is ridiculous.

I almost settled on Nova Platinum. But it's not quite nice enough. Any suggestions that are GF, upscale, and preferably South Pattaya or otherwise near GoGos, but slightly removed in a quiet area? And please, when we're talking GF, lets assume that means absolutely no joiner fee.

Dusit D2 does not charge a joiner for one guest and I'm pretty sure they don't charge for more tha one. Unless they have recently changed their policy.

You might want to give Holiday Inn a try? Recently open late last year and is next to Amari and down from the Dusit right on Beach Road but North. I know the name " Holiday Inn " but I have heard good things about it and it sits like 25 plus floors and faces the water and I believe someone said GF?

I just had a week long stay at the Amari Orchid on the Garden side. I got a great rate from expedia.com that was around your price range, and I had a great experience there. The service, ambiance and staff attitudes were all terrific. I got upgraded to a small suite on check in, and the room was superb, with breakfast included. I started out (one night) at the Nova Platinum and found it a bit shabby. I would not stay there again.

The only problem with view talay is that it's in JOMTIEN (a short 10 to 15 minute baht bus ride up and over the hill from the intersection of South and 2nd road)

Correction..........

There are many View Talay most of them yes are in Jomtien but View Talay 6 is the tall white building between Beach Road and 2nd Road right next door to Central Festival!

If I turn up in Pattaya 1st July will it be pretty easy to find a decent studio or 1 bedroom condo to rent in Pattaya for 1 or maybe 2 months? If so how much? Any recommendations?

Sleep: You would sleep OK. The rooms are very soundproof. And, if you are above the clubs, they would rock you to sleep.

Cocoa: Jenny does rounds just before midnight delivering drinks for people who want an early night. After midnight she turns into a wearwolf. That doctor did a great job with the 2M Baht.

A guy on my floor the other day was telling me he paid 845 Baht per night for his room. With this he had his breakfast and everything. Give it a try before you leave?

Is it normal for the hotels in Pattaya to have internet connections either in the rooms or a room where you can go and hook up your laptop? Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel with this? Failing that, are the internet cafes where you can hook up your own laptop?

I would say that many but not all have Internet Connections. For me it is a necessity due to work commitments back home. The few Internet cafes that I've used in the past let me hook my laptop up but I personally prefer a connection within the room.

Queen Victoria, in Soi 6, has very good Wi-Fi and you are smack in the middle of anything goes action. LK Metro places all seem to have Internet. Places on Soi 13 also do. You gotta remember there are MANY places within Pattaya one can stay so I only named a few that I've been to in the past.

I believe the operative word here is " cheap " and that itself will narrow down the answer for you if you're serious.

In my opinion and experience you will find very few " Cheap Hotels " that actually will provide you with a Internet Wired Connention in your room. Although I'm sure someone might be able to answer your question and overcome the request " Cheap ".

As suggested, your next best bet is staying at a place that provides you with good WIFI in your room. So Queen Victoria Inn on Soi 6, is good and L.K Metro, the Metro Hotel or Apartments across from Devil Den both are small places with Routers on each floor.

Also, most Internet shops have a open line for people to bring in their laptops but like mention most people like their privacy so you can sit, type in your boxers and scratch your balls at the same time.

Does anybody know about Diamond Beach Hotel? I emailed them and they have not responded for a week. Also, with my computer WI-FI is not going to work. I need to connect to a LAN line.
