None of the reviews mention pimps or risk of mugging for independents. I think you are buying into the fantasy world that the anti-sex folks present. I simply think it is unrealistic to come from an English speaking country, where escorts are way, way more expensive than in Portugal, and expect to get a full hour for 60 Euros, including anal, without learning enough of the local language to contact the lower priced providers and dealing with them directly. Honestly, most businessmen and tourists who speak only English have enough funds to make the difference between 150 and 100 and 60 Euros to not be sufficient to jump through a lot of hoops, and the English-speaking market caters to them by charging a bit of a premium. You will always get a better deal by learning the local language, but if you do not want to do that, perhaps you could work some overtime at your job and accumulate a few more Euros. You can try Google translate on your cell phone, but realistically the roaming charges really add up when traveling, and that can negate any savings.

The hotel is adequate. Not fancy or luxurious, but adequate. That area is where most of the "western brand" hotels are located, so there are a lot of hotels near the most popular brothels (which are also located near each other). I often spend a few Euros on cabs because I still find it difficult to find some addresses even if I am nearby. Lisbon is like San Francisco in that the streets wind around the many hills and it is hard to get perspective. Fortunately the taxis are cheap and the drivers are friendly and generally speak some English. I try to bring a piece of paper with the hotel address and the addressees of the different brothels just in case I get lost.

Your intended motor-bike trip:

Just leave lisboa and follow the costal road to Cascais. Then into the Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais.

On the way you can stop in Cascais. There you have two good casas. On your way back to Lisboa you go via Sintra. In Sintra you have also two or three good options (near McDonalds) - I suggest you look at some of the portuguese sites for the contacts. The whole trip is around 50 - 60 km starting from Lisboa city center. At present time it is still too cool and to windy to enjoy a motorcycle outing but in March weather surely improves.
