Have done this many times and in Cebu had 3 on the room at the same time and no one asked for ID etc just walk in and went to room.

It helps if earlier in the day / evening of course but I have never had issues or been stopped anywhere in the Philippines.

I'd advise a quick phone call or a email to make sure, however even in places that are restrictive on guests (Dubai) , afternoons and early evenings are usually a lot laxer in enforcement.

Personally I don't care if they have to show and or leave ID, it is for my safety. I actually like it when the desk calls and asks if its OK for them to leave when they recover their ID.
