Thai: $24,000 USD deposit, and $1,950 USD monthly income (no easy feat for fellas on basic assistance, such as SS).
Phils: $10,000 USD deposit (increasing to $15,000 soon), and $800 USD monthly income. Even better for foreigners with former military experience ($1,500 USD deposit). How is Thai better?
https://pra.gov.ph/SRRVisa
In Thailand you can just pay the visa company $400 and they handle everything. No need to really have the money in the bank. They deposit it to make like you have it.
When are these flights coming online? I went onto the Jetstar website but couldn't find any info (I'm headed back to Cebu next week). I presume they start up towards the end of the year?
Aah, found it. Looks like it starts December 3
Yeah, they had a flash sale.
I picked up a cheap flight, but it took me an hour to navigate it to get the right price.
Good news is, there's now another option as opposed to the Qantas and PA monopoly.
Yes, Jetstar is part of Qantas, but I'll report back how it goes.
God you guys are lucky. If I was that close and that cheap to get there, oh my goodness, ID be out of control.
Hi Loca,
You guys are definitely getting screwed with airfares.
We experienced the same here in Australia in the past, as there has always been a monopoly.
Yes, the advertised price ended up being 'First In -First served' and prices went up from there.
Still got a bargain flight booking six months in advance.

They deposit it to make like you have it.
I must be missing something. If the visa company deposits the $24,000 USD in the bank, they are going to want it back after you receive your O-A visa? You (or the visa company) can't get it back as long as you stay in the O-A visa program. The purpose of your deposit is so that the government can invest it in its needs while you are in the program. Assuming you will stay in the program the rest of your life (say, 1-2 decades), is the visa company willing to live without their $24,000 until you die or depart the program?
Also, you still must have $1950 USD in monthly income in Thailand, vs $800 in Phils. That eliminates most SS-only recipients in Thailand.

They only need to show proof that it was there. If you are applying on your own then you will need to do those things, but the visa companies have their ways.

P. S. A.
The Filipina Pea is back. Current video regarding SRRV changes. Deposit amounts are going up, from $10,000 USD (with minimum pension of $800/ month if single, or $1,000 if married) to $15,000. And from $20,000 USD (w / out pension) to $30,000. That's the bad news.
Good news is that the minimum age to apply is going down, from age 50 to age 40

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5LYEnOb-os
Regarding this video. The video is The Pea, and an agency guy, chatting about changes to the SRRV system. However, in the comments section below the video, are both comments regarding SRRV, and also comments about the difficulties of being an immigrant in Phils (specifically, being jailed for making locals angry), and those posters are suggesting that visitors stay out of Philippines. Without casting any aspersions on the merits of said comments, its interesting to draw the parallel between those comments and the 40% reduction in visitors since covid (that shows little indication of improvement) as documented here on the board. The very first comment is about this, even before anyone comments on SRRV.
See attached pics for some of the comments. There's a lot of anti-Phils sentiment out there. Given the country's previous long-standing negatives: terrible infrastructure, government corruption, and so forth; its little wonder tourism has stumbled.

I was starting to get worried when you were reporting on provincial hotties and cut price freelancers. Now we just have to work on Sir Ugly and his very unhelpful comments of endless threesomes and horny bisexual neighbours. How are these in any way constructive or of assistance??
Remember, the story is that the Philippines is a very scary place, that all the girls are fat and ugly and now asking exorbitant fees. Oh, don't forget they the recent HIV panic means that everyone is now insisting on covered everything.
Reports of guys disappearing into the provinces and fucking hot 19 yo's until their old age and stamina sends them into a coma are totally false and misleading.
ID appreciate if we could keep reports coming on the dangers and lack of fair priced pussy.
Cheers. G. 🤣.

Maybe they were too good for too long?? More punters means more demand, higher costs, worst FX rates, more golden pussies and less acceptance by civilians and politicians.
Thailand, Philippines, Colombia etc are all seeing some pushback in favour of the new kids in the block.
Vietnam or Kenya anyone??
Enjoy. G.

But you can always move on to other items on the menu.

It can be scary too, when the hottie you just met late at night, when the Tanduay has kicked in, and you realize that Jane is actually called Juan.
It's terrible that these fat and ugly Pina girls will sleep with me without considering protection.
Terrible, only because I'm in my fifties now, and they all seem to be pretty fit and great in the sack and I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me.
Yes they're all really expensive. If you want it that way.
Best to believe all the negative comments those read about Pinas and leave the rest of us to do the dirty work and do it for the team.

https://www.thaiwebsites.com/tourism.asp
Interesting. I guess I should have said there has been push back by old broke white guys. Most of the countries that I travel to have seen an influx of Indians, much to the chagrin of the traditional white monger.
I'll admit I get a laugh when white guys, who have always used their buying power vs local girls, see the tables turn and face free spenders from other areas. Surely the solution is simple: pony up and start spending the same amount of cash so that they aren't out bid. It's not rocket science. LOL.
For the Philippines, having Koreans bleed out after being shot in broad daylight isn't a good look.
Enjoy. G.
Reports of guys disappearing into the provinces and fucking hot 19 yo's until their old age and stamina sends them into a coma are totally false and misleading.
You find a province girl, say, in north-central Luzon. Small, nicely figured. Nineteen. Deep, dark, warm mocha skin. Beautiful face. Small-town mentality. Shy (at first). Willing to meet (after a chunk of discussion between myself, the girl, and one of her friends) well away from home, thru the Friends & Family program. For years she busses to meet you when you are in AC. Initially shy to sex. But later. Ohhhhhh. . . Later. Becomes eager to learn new stuff. Her ever-growing nawty side includes extreme narcissism, and loves being recorded. Never met a mirror she didn't like. Sub 5-footer learns to 3-hole, and to enjoy making private vids. Happy to spend a weekend in Manila. You thought you'd died and gone off to the Almighty. Everything goes to plan for almost 8 years, till she gets preggers and decides she has to stop the party and go be a good mom. Alas, have camera, will travel. T'would all be a dream, except for the pics and vids. . .
No. No. Its incredulous. Never had a chance of happening.
Now we just have to work on Sir Ugly and his very unhelpful comments of endless threesomes and horny bisexual neighbours. Two bisexuals live next door. Their bisexual window is directly across from my hetero window. They go at it ALL NIGHT LONG sometimes, slurping away. The moaning. Sometimes it sounds like 2 pigs wrestling. Can't get any sleep. Can only dream of it. Or wait until OAU's next post. F*cker.

Koreans have taken over Philippines. No more hot dogs and hamburgers on the menu. If it is then Kim Chi is piled up on top.
No more 1984 prices for anything.
Outrageous lady drink prices. Forget new barfine prices.
Don't come!
